Ray and the Guitar can be scrubbed. I do not have that game anymore sadly.

We're in luck - it's preserved in the MAGS collection: https://archive.org/details/ray-and-the-guitar

Waste of storage if you ask me.  :=

Ill update the page for it. Thanks!

Edit: all done! Funny, I played it and can't believe I missed a simple bug that lets you skip a puzzle! Are MAGS still a thing?

I saw my Nightmare Demo on this list, which amazingly I still have lol. I can update the games page for it although there isn't much there (after all I was like 12 years old).

Please do! All your four entries in the Database have missing/broken links now, so it would be great if you could make them available again.  (nod)
I've updated 3 out of 4 of my entries with new download links and screenshots, not that there was much to update honestly... It's interesting playing anything I made 17 years ago, that's for sure.

Yes, and if you're looking for the universal game launcher - the download link is in every AGS release post.

Awesome! Thanks a lot!

Hello all, long time no see! I was wondering if an Android port of AGS runtime exists? I remember something JJS made a long time ago that worked, is that still the go to? I would love to play some games again!

Babar I recommend GBC/GBA.emu if you're going strictly touchscreen. However, if you have a gamepad, get RetroArch. Not only is it free, but it supports a crazy amount of systems, including Cave Story (mobile Cave Story ftw!).

And no, I did mean WiFi Tether. Even if you have a plan where tethering costs money or is not offered entirely, this app will let you tether and it does it for free.

If I may ask, what phone did you buy? I'd be going crazy if my HTC Evo V 4G didn't have custom ROMs! Granted the rooting process was incredibly frustrating, including a part where I had to turn it into an entirely different phone, but it was totally worth it to have new features like, panoramic camera, and the ability to go full HD on youtube where as before it never had HD. Really worth it in the end friend!

And again, without rooting my phone, this app does basically nothing.
Freaking Yahoo finance, pisses me off.

Time to root that phone then!

Depending what ROMs are available, you should look for one that improves the actual phone itself, as well as offering features. I usually go with stock ROMs to avoid losing functionality. Also, certain kernels allow for different governors, which is really nice for certain apps and can get you some amazing battery life.

With that said, some apps I use or used to use:

Link2SD: If your phone has incredibly small internal storage, this will fix it. Unlike a lot of other apps2sd apps this one links libraries of the apps themselves, so you can keep any app on the SD card and use it, even if it isn't supposed to go on an SD card, and keep internal memory free. You can even put system apps on the SD although it's not recommended.

Titanium Backup: A must if you are going to be flashing ROMs and doing some risky business. Lets you backup any app and reinstall it whenever. Useful for when you update an app and find out it's not working properly. Also useful because it allows you to freeze apps that you can't get rid of (like certain system apps for instance) so they aren't taking up memory.

Kernel Tuner or SetCPU: Depending on your device, one of these will work or both of them won't. I use Kernel Tuner since I have a dual core snapdragon processor and it works great. I'm overclocked at about 1512 MHz per core and running smooth as butter. Also has features to turn cores off to save power. Only con is it lacks profiles, unlike SetCPU, which allows you to set up profiles. For example, you can set your processor speed to lower its max and min to certain levels when your battery gets to a certain level. It's a really nice feature.

WiFi Tether: You can get a lot of these on the Play Store, but I choose one from XDA (google it) because it's easy to use and setup.

GooManager: Since you're rooted, you can use this to find custom ROMs for your device! It installs them via custom recovery (like Clockwork Recovery, 4EXT, TWRP2 for example) and only shows ROMs that are compatible with your device.

AdAway: This came with my custom ROM, but it blocks ads and push ads. Very nice.

Go SMS Pro: I hate Go products, but this one has the ability to add iPhone emojis which is nice if you have friends that have iPhones.

Chainfire3D: This app basically overrides or bypasses certain elements of your GPU. Since you have a pretty nice phone, you could use this to enable AA filters in games to make them look much nicer, or to turn off certain features to get some FPS back in games that are struggling to run. It also has a market hack on the Pro version that will show games that aren't "supported" on the Play Store.

NES.emu, Snes9x EX+, Mupen64 Plus AE, ePSXe, GBA.emu: All the emulators I use. All of them are very stable, offer the best compatibility and features, and are cheap. If you have a gamepad though, I'd recommend RetroArch 100000000%.

Also, I don't recommend ANY Go products. GoLauncher and others come with annoying pop-up adds, pointless updates, or bloatware. I'd use Nova Launcher instead if you want fancy. I used to use Launcher Pro but I'm not sure if it supports newer devices.

Again, if you have a custom ROM, a lot of them come with a bunch of software tweaks as well as some cool and useful apps. Have fun!

This is the perfect time to get one, R4L! :D

I've been thinking of buying one for $20 at my local pawn shop. Would love to romp through Kingdom Hearts again.

And I can't believe I forgot about Red Dead Revolver. One of the most funnest games EVER.

Everyone has already recommended some great games, so I figured I'd recommend some others.

PS1:

Medieval - Fun action-adventure game with some great dialog, cartoony graphics, decent voice acting and an awesome player character Dan Fortesque!
Resident Evil Trilogy - I call it a trilogy because they were on PS1 and were much different compared to the newer ones. All pretty classic and fun to play.
Silent Hill - The grand daddy of survival horror games. Very atmospheric and also pretty damn scary.
Thrasher - Skate and Destroy - Picture Skate from this generation. Thrasher is essentially that. Pretty ahead of it's time and it has an awesome soundtrack.
Einhander - A shmup from Square and a damn good one. Great soundtrack as well.
Final Fantasy Origins Final Fantasy and Final Fantasy II with updated graphics, bug fixes, and better translations. Great RPGs get better.
Twisted Metal 2 - Car combat done great.

Those are my favorites on PS1.

PS2:

Kingdom Hearts - I personally would avoid the 2nd one. It's nothing but a button masher. This one started it all and it did it just right.
Onimusha 3: Demon Siege - My favorite from the series that features John Reno. Hard, but fun game.
Dragonball Z Budokai 3 - Pretty great fighting game if you like Dragonball Z.

That's it for me. Never had a PS2 so didn't really spend much time with one.

Thanks for the fix JJS. I owe you a coffee or a brew haha.

I'll upload my save game soon.

EDIT: Here you are! Note that you'll have to go to the fourth floor and talk to the boss first then it will automatically bring you to the room where the problem is happening.
#15
Alright sounds about right. The problem exactly is, to advance you have to find an item in the room and show it to your partner but she never walks in the room so therefore it is impossible to do. I've posted in JJS' thread about the problem but wanted to double check lol.
#16
Hey JJS I'm getting a weird occurrence in Pleurghburg. About halfway through you can't advance any further because parker will not walk into the old mans apartment. Therefore you can't show her an item to advance. any way I can get around this or is it engine related? Playing on my HTC Evo 3D
#17
It seems pleurghburg is unplayable halfway through. For some reason in the old man's apartment parker never walks in the room so you can never show her the cloth to advance. :/

Of course this could also be a bug with the android port and not the package.

Awesome news. It's nice being able to play pleurghberg again on the go, and having a brilliant service like this to simplify it even more. I patiently await the next update!

And J, your situation will improve. I've been there plenty of times in my life and even the roughest times have gradually improved when it seemed impossible. The difference is you're an adult and can fix it. I grew up poor and at my young age I couldn't do anything to help my mother out in those times. But you guys will pull through! Take this as some inspiration from the wise R4L...

Ok... Not wise. Maybe wise ass, but you get the picture xD

The UI is fine, it just seems... not fit to my screen. I feel it can be accommodated better on the screen. It's not a problem just a pet peeve for me. :)

Also, I tested downloading Pleurghberg and it works flawlessly. Are you planning to add a progress bar when games are being downloaded? Again just another pet peeve of mine. I guess I'm just spoiled haha.
