I think I already know how to do this but I don't think it's right. If I want animated doors do I make a door for an object? If I make a region do I have it so when player walks on it the script plays an animation for the object and followed by that have set object view to where the doors stay open? Sorry if I am making it sound complicated.

Does anyone know where I can get sounds for footsteps? I searched on google but I got ones that aren't WAVE and have more than one footstep. I just want a sound with one footstep on tile. So, will you help me? Thanks.

The starting point

Hope you enjoy the demo and I know there are some bugs and it ends without nothing saying the end but please enjoy it anyway.

The Story- You are a man named martin who is just graduating from college. One day you get a letter in the mail from your grandmother. Your happy in one way but spooked in the other. You haven't seen your grandmother in 15 years. You decide you will go see her V.I.A the directions in the letter. You asked your friends but they wouldn't come. So, you drove up there. A tunnel had been barracaded so you found another way around. When you get to her cabin, you open the door slowly and quietly. The light isn't on. You turn it on, and then nothing is as it seems...

EDITAGAIN: I got the download to work but I am afraid that after someone dls it, you have to wait an hour before you can get it again. sorry! The download works sometimes. just click on it and if the error comes up just hit back and click it again. I did this and I was able to test the dl.

Hey. Today I played one of the best First Person Shooters on the XBOX. The game is called Breakdown. You are a guy named Derrick Cole, who was a former U.S. Military Sargent. A lab in Yokohoma, Japan had did some experiments on you, and after the experiments you go into a deep coma for a long time. You finally wake up to have a docter saying "Hey, wake up."
"Your our last chance!" For over 10 years, the lab has been researching about a place called Nexus, a highly evolved culture that is sleeping underground on a place called Site Zero. However, their sleep is disturbed and they start to enhabit the earth. They plan to launch rockets and spread superhuman beings called T'lan Warriors all over the world. These creatures can withstand rockets, missiles, grenades, or any kind of human firepower. Apparently, you, Derrick Cole, were the only survivor of a project called The Alpha Project, in which experiments are done to enhance cells. Scientists have found what seems to be a super stimulation called "T'Langen" and when injected into human cells, the cells morph and rapidly increase, thus making the human body more efficient. Superhuman powers begin to develop in a stage called Accelleration, which can occur at any anytime. But you aren't the only one who has the uniqueness. There is a being who guards Nexus. His name is Solus. He has no understanding of feelings, fear, or anything whithin the human brain. He seeks and destroys, using massive power.

The reason why I love this game so much is because Namco has actually tried something unique with FPS. You can punch, kick, and basicly, do anything. You can even do backflips and you see it all through Derrick's eyes! The punch kick thing is different from other FPS's. You can get combo's the more you accelerate, making the game's depth alot bigger. If you see a burger or some soda, grab it and eat/drink it if you want to. Or look at a file lying around, also another thing that impressed me. I have one thing that I can't get over though, and that's the difficulty of this game. Even on normal, this game is extremly hard! Another concern is the game's interface. It can be VERY irritating! When you pick up an item, you have to look at it, then put it in your inventory. It gets annoying in battle or when there are many things to pick up. Another thing is health items. Some things like Rations, or, Cola cans, you can't keep them. If you find one you pick it up, look at it and you either eat/drink it or throw it away. That really sucks if you have low health and are stuck in a hard situation. But, it is a great game with a awesome story and outstanding graphics. Voice acting is pretty decent too. It's worth the rent or the $50.00 price tag, despite the minor flaws.

Now I read in the Contents section of AGS that you can have a loading screen appear while your game is loading. I know what to do, you know, save it as PRELOAD.PCX and put it in the game folder, but it never comes up. Not a problem, but I worked alot on the loading sequence only to have it not even come up.

For some reason, every time I try to test a game on my friends computer, the game won't startup or even test.
Any way of fixing this? Thanks!

Is it possible to have like a scale or bar that adjusts to the light like in Splinter Cell? I thought about this and thought it would be cool.

HAHA! My first 1 room game. It has a puzzle. Basicly, I made this because I was practicing the script. I thought this was funny, I don't know about you. Graphics are in Ms-Paint and its in 320x240. has no music and uses cornjob's alien sprites. It is only 798 kb!

Yeah I can't figure out how to get out of this part. I used the wrench on the bricks and then looked in the box and got it back and did it again, but that didn't do anything. I tried shooting it then throwing the wrench at the bricks but I still die. Can I get some help?

Comin' Off The Streets

This is a game I started recently actually about a week ago but I got a demo ready, I got my full version going preety good, and I have had alot of free time now that school hasn't been giving us any homework for a while.
My game is about a boy named Bubba Young. He lives with his mother who is unemployed and lives off of her unemployment money. She can barely keep food on the table. She undergoes lots of stress and eventually starts to beat her children. It was only when they got the eviction notice that Bubba starts to keep a journal. He decides that he is only making his mother suffer and even though he loves her, he decides to run away to find a better life for himself.

The game takes off there. You start out by his house where he says goodbye to the town he grew up in. He walks out of town and never looks back. It is very dark and Bubba notices a barn down the road. He walks to it, and sneaks in. He sleeps in the hay. When he wakes up, he thinks its still early. He writes an entry in his journal, and then takes some stuff from the barn that he thnk he will need. He then thinks of an idea. He will go to the city and live in a foster home. The city ain't to far away. It starts to get dark out and Bubba has to rest from walking. Meanwhile, a car is speeding down the road. The lady has been drinking, and she drifts away. She catches herself and looks back up. She screams and jerks the wheel to the right. Her car slams into Bubba, and he lies silently on the ground...

Thats all that is known for the final version. I am at my friends so no screenshots or a demo will be up anytime soon. I have been practicing the script and I now know how to use the AGS Flashlight plugin. But, I can't get the credits to work. I am trying to make it so you can do anything for people with curiosity, like, if you think he is hungry, go get a burger. If you think the newspaper on the ground might have something interesting in it, pick it up and read it. The game has indoor music and outdoor music. If your outside, the wind will blow or it will be calm. At night, owls hoot in the background. I am looking for a sound that has a footprint for outside and indoors but I haven't had any luck. I think this project is going well.

Yeah I just want to know how to post a image that animates when it loads up. I was wondering how to do this because I have a new sprite I made and I want to show it but not post frame after frame. Any help would be appreciated!

Ok, I thought of this like a weekago. I made a small cartoon that don't even last a minute. I will post it up soon. I thought, hey, maybe I can start a new activity. My idea is to make a small or large cartoon, and post it up fr everyone to see. After you post it, people vote for which one they like. you really can't win anything except appreciative comments but I think its fun and its good if you want to kill some time. Please respond.

Well I am making a game based on the same name of this game but I will have a different name and it won't relate as much to the actual story of the game.

This is the title screen and yes I am changing the name. It focuses on the strong points, which are going to be like, the difficulty changing on how well you play, the puzzles will get easier depending on how many times you attempted it.
There will be 4 endings and, like the real game, you can get different endings if you get certain stuff. The game's story will be its strong point, for I am not totally sure about the sounds and programming. The story is loosly based on what happend in the second Silent Hill, and the main character is Jason Dombroski. He is searching for his brother Eddie. He travels to Silent Hill, for he knows that his brother was sick of being made fun of and ran away to this town. He searches the town to find that his brother is dead, and that the town is full of monsters. He vows to kill the man or monster who killed his brother. He thinks he might have went to the next town, since the road to the main highway is blocked off by a gigantic hole, you will have to find a way to get there. I like this idea because it lets me expand the game, and most of the town's stores and bars will be excessable, expanding it more. I am trying to push AGS to the limit. More weapons and a improved melee and weapon attack mode is going to be improved. Its something big for me, and I haven't really any programming experience. I will practice and hopefully the game will be made.
My problem though is that I can't seem to animate Jason.

This is jason and I can't animate him in MS-PAINT. I think I wanna try Graphics Gale or MoHo.

This is a genie and he is doing the bring it on sign. Since it is so small I will tell you some things.

1.) The white dot on his face is not just the eye. Below it is a red dot to express anger.

2.) The abs are shitty and I don't know how to draw abs. Maybe some tips?

3.) The arms look like crap. Any tips?

This is my script for if I want my character to go up to the other character( who is actually a house) and use the key on him to open him. After I put the Wait(5); and FollowCharacter(0,1-_; I went to save it and this came up

What the hell is that error? When I take out the Wait(5); and FollowCharacter(0,1-);, It has no problem, but the character won't walk ALL the way to the character.
