This is the One winged Warrior scarf. Most of you seen it before I am sure.

Yeah, In Final Fantasy...

I think you should change the faces of those sprites if you do use them. Add some variety.

You could try downloading theCombined Community Codec Pack and downloading Media Player Classic. I use these and whatever Windows Media Player can't play, Media Player Classic will.

I demand you add the "candymancer" scarf, which turns you into an old man, who has the special ability to turn into a brown bear!

Pedobearmancer.

I am making a short side game that will run on the PSP. The reason to this is because my OSD2 game wont even make it pass the first line on the PSP with out crashing. Therefore if I make a small side game that involves less things then it will work. I don't need this taking up my time at finishing the games neither.

What you need to do is not make a side game, AT ALL. Just fucking focus on ONE GAME and FINISH THIS DAMN GAME! Put all your effort into it, please! Spend more than 2 weeks on it! And you seriously wanted to charge people to play this stuff? Every thread you start always promises some stupid, stolen feature that doesn't even work and then goes to promote another game that you already have "planned" out. JUST MAKE ONE FUCKING GOOD, LONG GAME FOR ONCE!

I'm saying this because you show potential; Your art is rather good, and the ambition is there, but you need to take your time man! Even if you manage to create an awesome game, everyone here will probably not even play it just because of shit like this. Think about it...

Also, why, for fucks sake, would you even want to try putting a game on PSP, when you can barely make a fully functional game with AGS? Plus, you do know that the PS Vita is coming soon right? It's going to blow PSP out of the water, which will still leave your estimated percent of people to even play OSD on PSP still at 0%....

Just focus on one game, and ONE GAME ONLY!!!! Stop adding useless features that we will only use once. Seriously, what's the point of that Spirit Grid leveling system? Unless your game is going to be 20+ hours and offer replay value I highly suggest that you not even use this at all. In fact, don't add anything unless you can actually make it work. That's called half-assing, which is what I've seen so far in every single thing you've released.

That's the biggest problem with these stupid add on gimmicks you keep using to promote your games. Your games don't even have enough care and attention or substance to warrant the use of them. What's the point of even making an RPG/Adventure game if you aren't going to make it worth the player's while to use the key game elements? If you have a leveling system, I want a fucking full game with a story that shows you put your work into it and tried your best so that it still FEELS LIKE A GAME. So far I feel like your games are just featuring some useless add on no one will ever use. And now you're riding off OSD's popularity around here, which if you didn't know.....

IT WAS A GODDAMN JOKE IN THE FIRST PLACE!!!!!

I'm only saying this because I did the same thing too, and I know where this kind of thing ends up, but seriously you have this whole forum pleading to you NOT TO DO STUPID SHIT ANYMORE! That's why I took a hiatus from AGS. I dug myself into a huge hole here, and I wasn't making anything to my full potential. You might say, "Who cares what you people think? This is my life! I'm going to work at Square Enix blah blah blah..." but this community is everything when you're making games! We tell you what needs to be fixed, how to help you with coding, critique on your art... everything that is essential to a game. You're lucky to find a community like AGS has here anywhere else on the internet.

I'm probably wasting my time typing this, but you need to stop and think. What happens when no one here cares anymore? Are you going to go somewhere else and do the same thing?

Most of you may know by now that jjs has released a program that allows you to play you AGS games on a PSP. I was thinking that maybe I could find a way to make that useful for this game. Because most games don't work on the PSP so there is no telling whether or not this OSD game(PC game) will run on the PSP.

P.S. That is not a logo. That is a button to start the PSP game.

Though this is an idea it wont actually be tried until later. I was thinking I could make a side game that is short like the OSD games and it will only run on a PSP. I have the code set up in the game to check to see if you are on WIN or a PSP. If you are running the game on a PC then you will get a error, telling you to run the game on the PSP.

Again, another useless tie-in feature and ANOTHER GAME that is going to take away from this. Not like it matters anyway, but still...

Quote
Now here is the thing. I don't know what jjs program runs on. Like does the game run using like linux or something or is the PSP the same as windows? Because if Linux or something the game will work cause like I said before it checks for windows.

So why don't you go in the thread and look?????

Awesome man! I work at an italian/seafood restaurant cooking now and I still get $7.25 an hour, and no tips. Only if I'm lucky... one of the many downsides to working at a family owned restaurant and having an asshole for a boss.

I don't know a lot about cars, but I know some... if you have problems you can shoot me a PM and I can run it with my dad (worked in a shop his whole life) and I can probably get you on the right track. Not much help, but I figured I'd offer instead of not helping at all.  :P

My OSD games
-OceanSpirit Dennis 2 beta
-Oceanspirit Dennis 3D [mags]
-OSD: The lost world[FULL]
-pubmembers:Oceanspirit Denni...
-OSD.2 demo
-OSD:the lost world[Short]
-OSD:The 3rd war[never released  :-\]
-OSD:Rise of the spirit

I see 8 in that list. I think I made more then anyone else. However I am going to agree with you and say this is my only OSD game. You will understand later.

1 is a demo, 1 is a beta and another wasn't released. Those don't count... So, with that said, I count 4 on that list, if you include this game.

Hey glad to hear things are better for you!  :=

Too bad you don't live in LA, or else I would have linked you to this.

It's basically a poor man's guide to surviving. It gives addresses to shelters, pantries, and other stuff. I'm sure you have those in your area, but I'm just saying, you know, in case this happens to get worse. But, I'm hoping for the best, so hopefully you won't have to resort to that!  ;)

Anyways, good luck dude, and best of luck. I've been there before, and I'm doing well now, so I believe you will too!

Honestly Icey, I think before you go and do all of this that maybe you should get AGS down and actually make something that shows that you can take it to the next level.

But I'm not going to tell you what to do.  :P

After some long thinking I have come to a decisions. I am going to drop the online feature from the game. However this does not include the Chat part. By doing this I now have a bit more time to fix old errors. I am on a break again from the game which is good cause I get to work out/on the story and draw up new stuff.

I know I said I would have it done by the end of the but from the way it looks as of now I might end up releasing this early next year.

This is the best news ever. Thank goodness you got rid of that!

It's because the function has wait commands I believe, which means gameplay is paused until the quake is over.

Depends mostly on whether you want to use a tile system for your levels or hand-drawn backgrounds. With tiles, you shouldn't run into big problems, room-style backgrounds I haven't tried yet but large levels might pose problems.

Yeah, it would be something with fairly large levels.

You'd probably be better off with tiled backgrounds.

The Hulk, SHIT? Not in MY book! I mean, you could go and throw the MOON at the Hulk, with BATMAN on it. The Hulk would still win!

Human Centipde. That's SHIT. Literally.

I have a friend who loves that movie simply because of that part haha. Really don't know how some people think that would make a good movie...

I don't know if anyone here knows who Anvil is, but they have a documentary that's pretty funny and awesome.

I don't really like Edward Norton, though I've only seen him in shit like the Italian Job, the Illusionist, and the Hulk, since I haven't seen Fight Club on account of being spoilered. I really like Edgar Wright and his movies, though, since that's totally related to Ed Norton. Hot Fuzz is probably the funniest movie I've ever seen.

You should still totally watch it. It's worth it even if it's been spoiled for you. I've played through so many games knowing how they end (thanks, uncaring friends) and still thoroughly enjoyed them.

Haven't seen Hot Fuzz. Same guys that made Shaun of the Dead?

I've liked Edward Norton and Brad Pitt. Fight Club remains as my favorite movie of all time. Just the dialog back and forth between them (or, I should say, between himself  ;) ) is humorous and on point.

Or Jackie Chan. Even if he's in a movie with terrible acting, the fight scenes make up for it every time. His humor is pretty great too.

Ten times better. I honestly don't see anything wrong with it, but I'm not really an expert either.

This phrase 'after the fact'.  I've been hearing it more and more in the past year or two.  I can't explain why but it's just horrible. :-X

Thumbs up if you agree!

Thumbs are up!

Yes that is what Project64 uses, I guess that is what the K stands for in project64k :=

I KNOW THAT. I asked if YOU had a kaillera server? How are you going to host games without one? If we're meeting in some room then screw it.

Also, I might add that if anyone here hasn't used a kaillera client before, it sucks. Not only is it bland, but it's slow, and even for people to play together, they have to have the same settings as each other to work.

Don't get me wrong; it still works great for playing games. But pinging servers all the time is slow, and why offer a choice of different settings if they only work when everyone else is using them?

EDIT:

I didn't remake the same thing. Last time I used that aggravating TCP plugin. The things I can do now with Wyz's plug in is what I wanted but couldn't do before.

What's the point of this whole online thing? I downloaded your latest game, finished it, and deleted it after. What makes you think I'm going to stick around for a gimmicky feature that has no point at all?

The PMQ2 game got changed around so much that it took me to get room 40 to actually figure out what I was going to do to make it. But the game started to run too slow so I just canceled it.

Run too slow? Meaning what? You sound just like me when I was trying to make games. I basically got an idea in my head, and tried to make a game from it, and the end result EVERY time?

I had no story, no dialog, no idea HOW or WHAT to use for art/characters/sprites, so what I have now are about 15 incomplete "ideas" taking up hard drive space.

Look at every thread I've posted here about some game I was making. You will never find a complete game, and it's because of what I said earlier. All of those threads end similar to this:

Hey everyone due to difficulties (school, boredom, pr0n) I can't make super awesome adventure: the search armageddon reloaded resurrection part 5 and 3 quarters. Sorry  :'( :'( :'(

Even worse, half of those projects.... if you were to load them up in the editor, you would find absolutely nothing. No sprites, no rooms, no scripts. Just a title of a game. I feel bad about it too, because one of my projects actually had some reception and support from the community, but it was just me hashing sh*t together.

Quote
#I said you could have done it because you were the one that gave me the code, However I did think of adding it first. I could be wrong but so far the way I see it is that no one was talking about it. The only time I here about DLC here is when some is talking about my game or when S.P.C was talking about.

@Khris: I have to fix the cards because I wan't people to just email the code until I figure out a better.

Seriously, PLEASE drop this feature! You've been told by I don't know how many people now that it's not even a good idea, yet you're still trying.

It's like knowing there's a room full of bombs but somewhere in the room is a tasty sandwich and despite your friends saying NO IT'S DANGEROUS that damn sandwich is too good to give up.

Actually... I would too if there was a tasty sandwich. Mmmmmm.... but hey, best of luck.
