I heard both Ip Man movies were good, just haven't gotten around to watching them.

have you seen Born to fight already? If not, do so! Then maybe some ong bak and stuff...

Haven't heard of it... and I have Ong Bak on this laptop. I'll definitely give it a whirl!

I used to train Wing tsun actually so yeah Kung-fu is my cup of tea...Huh?!?! you got a problem? I'll kick all your asses :D Can't believe you don't like Bruce Lee movies though! Enter the dragon gives me fond childhood memories :D

It's not that I don't like them, I just prefer fast paced combat.

One of my favourite martial arts films is Iron Monkey.
It's kind of in a similar vein as Crouhing Tiger, but I think it was earlier.  Just an all round good yarn.

I'll watch that on Netflix tonight! Iron Monkey, I mean.

I'll be back tomorrow with my thoughts on some movies if I can actually watch them. I can watch Iron Monkey right now, and Netflix has Ip Man. I'll get around to watching Ong Bak sometime too.

I recommend Hapkido if you can find it on the internet. It's got an early Sammo Hung, a young Carter Wong, and the awesomely sexy Angela Mao, kicking ass. The story is actually not bad either IMO. Here's an IMDB link.

EDIT: Also, 12 Swords is epic, so is 13 Assassins, which obviously follows Seven Samurai (or is it Seven Swords?) in the same spirit. Drunken Master is a classic as well.

We have our own resident warrior Barbarian, who almost featured as one of the kung-fuing mini-bosses in a Jackie Chan movie. He hasn't been online in about 3 weeks, though.

As far as movies go, I have absolutely no knowledge of "styles" and stuff, and I usually enjoy kung-fu as a backdrop to comedy (with movies like Shaolin Soccer and Kung-Fu Hustle).

Haven't seen Shaolin Soccer, but I have seen Kung-Fu Hustle, which is one of my favorites.

And that's amazing, to almost work with Mr. Chan himself!

In all seriousness. I'm an intermediate in kung-fu movies, but lately I haven't been able to find any decent films.

Bruce Lee doesn't count, because I find his movies to be extremely boring. I'm more of a Jackie Chan person any day. His fights are choreographed brilliantly, and all at an extremely fast pace (I'm looking at you Dragon's Forever, Wheels on Meals, Drunken Master...)

I've seen a little Jet-Li... nothing great though. Hero is good though, besides being completely unbelievable with it's fighting scenes. They were still awesome and beautiful though. I'm currently going through some of Issac Florentine's movies, and still nothing too impressive, besides Undisputed II, which was amazing. Ninja is OK. Cheesy as all hell, but the fighting is decent.

If you haven't figured it out yet, I'm more of a Jackie Chan/Sammo Hung fan. Hap-kido is one of my favorite kung-fu movies with Sammo Hung. Mainly for long, fast scenes. I could name a dozen movies I love off the top of my head. However, I CRAVE MOOOOOOORRREEEEEE!!

So, this is mainly a discussion on the topic, and a place to suggest other movies. Would love to hear if anyone else shares the same crazy passion for these movies!  :=

EDIT: Also, because it's about 7 AM here, and I'm bored. :P

JJS, I can't even describe how awesome this project has come along in such short time. From not functioning to almost perfect compatibility in this amount of time is impressive my friend, and I applaud you for taking the time to make it possible. You can't beat playing 6 Days a Sacrifice in bed when I'm too lazy to get up and play on the computer. Especially considering my phone is very limited in terms of games.

Seriously man, bravo.  :=

The way I envision it is having someone walk on a treadmill, editing out the background so you have just the person, and using every 2nd frame to render.

Not true. In order to run ENBseries you need D3D9.dll in your main folder where your game is using it.

As far as actually running the game, I have no problems running D3D9 games, and my card is DX11 compatible with D3D11.

Studio, why use a driver to add bloom? You can easily do it in photoshop, artgem, pretty much any editing software.
#67
Enbseries does a lot of things, but nothing that would help out for AGS.

For games like Quake and GTA that are sprawling 3D games, it works. It can render bloom effects, HDR effects, palette swaps... it has a lot of cool features.

Check out GTA San Andreas with it on:

Here and here.

Are you sure card would work better than camtasia? Especially, USB one? I've never seen any lag with it.

It's not that Camtasia lags, but it doesn't capture at an FPS I want, and I've tried tinkering with it and it's been a long, frustrating process. Also, it doesn't detect my sound at all. Only out of my built in microphone on the laptop screen.

EDIT: Nevermind. I was able to use my audio mixer to have some workaround to get audio while maintaining a good framerate. :)

Hi everyone. I've been doing some searching online, and I can't seem to find a decent and cheap capture card for my laptop. So far I've found this USB one and this other one for cheaper.

I don't know much about these things, so would I be able to capture video on my laptop with this? Or can I capture both my laptop and, say, my Xbox360? Also, would these be good choices of cards to choose? I'm asking because I've been using Fraps and Camstudio to capture games on my laptop, but I'm getting lag spikes.

Mine was regarding Rob Blanc III, in the Casino when you look at a brown stain on the wall, he says something like, "It could be anything; slime, chocolate, yes, even the one you're thinking."

In fact, that trilogy had awesome quotes.

You are amazing

1. Why don't you just make a nice sized map? FFIII (or 6 or whatever it is) on SNES had a fairly large map, but it wasn't big enough to where it was frustrating to navigate. Besides, half the RPGs I've played you're mostly in towns, dungeons, or battles. The overworld is merely a small side track to those main parts.

2. Sounds like a nice idea if the game is going to be difficult.

3. Honestly, what's the point? It's an RPG right? Why not just make it standard RPG battles? Why throw in these little RTS-style battles?

Confirming that 5 Days, 7 Days, Trilby's Notes (Although parser doesn't work due to having no physical keyboard), 6 Days works awesomely.

Ha! Awesome stuff now! Playing Ben Jordan 2 and 3 at a solid 40 FPS. Well, I had to set my governor to performance and clock at 768 MHz, but it's smooth, and the mouse is great.

Good work so far!

I may be stupid for saying this but...

You said this engine uses OpenGL to render right? Well maybe to fix the white screen issue you could use Chainfire 3D on the app market. Again, just suggesting. I might be stupid for suggesting that lol.

Also, does the ROM matter? It should work on any android ROM right? Because I have rooted LG Optimistic V with bumblebee rom.
#76
Same white screen results. On rooted LG Optimus V. Could be because my device is only clocked at 760 MHz, and that's overclocked. :P
#77
I honestly didn't mind it either, but I do like the improvements this made in the areas that were frustrating.

Any Castlevania fans in here?

If you are, I'm sure you'll agree Simon's Quest isn't the best game in the series. However, someone used Game Maker and re-did it, and it kicks ass now.
