A powdery high of fantastic delight sends my mind into a place with lots of light. I try to stand but slump back down I lay on the ground with no one around. Trembling to myself that these days are gone, but the more I seem sure the more I am wrong. My brain is confused and my senses are lost, and I am consuming and smelling the frost. The powdery high that I crave day and night, the powdery high that is ruining my life. My eyes are big and my hands are shaking, but I can't seem to fight this powerful craving. Its running my life and I can't seem to stop, its another bad habit I can't seem to drop. I am an addict of the drug called cocaine, as I sniff this snow I am going insane...

Yes what KhrisMUC saidÃ,  :D.

As you can tell, I'm not very good at explaining things.Ã,  :)

It should be gLabel.SetPosition(mouse.x,mouse.y);

Hopefully...

Hmm.. could you please post up your global script?

EDIT: Actually, it seems your either missing a brace at the end (its this })
or you accidently put the code after the closing brace in your repeatedly execute part.

Here:

Code: ags
#sectionstart repeatedly_executeÃ,  // DO NOT EDIT OR REMOVE THIS LINE
function repeatedly_execute() {
Ã,  // put anything you want to happen every game cycle here
gLabel.Position(mouse.x,mouse.y);
}
#sectionend repeatedly_executeÃ,  // DO NOT EDIT OR REMOVE THIS LINE

Im pretty sure thats it though. Just put the gLabel.Position(mouse.x,mouse.y); in where you see it in my code, into your global script. Also, I hope your putting the GUI name instead of gLabel. Like I said, if your GUI with the @OVERHOTSPOT@ is called Label, then it will be gLabel.Position blah blah.

I have a question. Is this your first game? If so, don't you think this is a little much? It would be great to see it done, yes, but your not overhyping anything are you?  ;)
#745
Rep_execute is in your global script. Open it up and under Game_Start there should be Repeatedly_Execute. Put the code under that. You could have looked it up in the manual pretty easily, but I wanted to save you some time.  :)

PowerTab is free, and pretty flexible. You use the keyboard mostly, but this program is pretty nice.

 :o :o :o

AHH! MY EYES ARE BLINDED! lol j/k but that looks amazing dude.

Yes, in my first post I had said that I was using Prog's Roger sprite for now, but I edited it and got rid of it.

Look in the manual:

@OVERHOTSPOT@

Make a gui, and a label in it that says @OVERHOTSPOT@

Make sure the areas are transparent.

Then under rep_execute:

Code: ags
gStatusLine.Position(mouse.x,mouse.y);

gStatusline would be your GUI name, so if your GUI name was Label, it would be this:

Code: ags
gLabel.Position(mouse.x,mouse.y);

Off my head but im pretty sure it works. Hope I helped.

Update at first post. Thanks for the comments so far!  :)

Thats awesome Ali  :o

I myself loved The Adventures of Maddog Williams in the Dungeons of Duridian. The game was so great. You could jump, fight, and even rode a dragon to fight with. The puzzles were awesome as well, and the ending was pretty funny and unexpected.

Spoiler
He gets abducted by aliens. ah... loved that game.

There are people who will use these templates and put no time into work of their own. I think its a good idea to use a template like Prog's, but if a person is going to base a game just because of a template, thats kind of pathetic.

So I change my mind again, I think its a good contribution, but like I said, you won't be seeing this template in any game you would want to download (would you?), unless produced by Prog himself.

Besides, if anyone who was actually serious about making a game, would want their own style, and would work to achieve it.
#755
I guess you should just use TintScreen ::)

Candle:

Ill fix the lighter bug. Most likely a global int that needs to be taken care of.

As for the door, its the closet, and you have to:

use the remote on the tv to watch it, then try to leave at the botton of the screen, at the door. Then try to open the closet door

HORROR HOTEL - THE UNSOLVED CASE

The unsolved case... a family disappears in Warsaw Hotel. One witness says that no one stayed on that floor besides that family, and they never checked out. Detective Dave Morrison struggles to figure it out, and on the way, he just might learn that the hotel isn't what it seems...

Cliche? I hope not. This isn't a copycat of Trilby's Notes my friend, no.

NEW SCREENIES:

Where is this? You'll have to find out!

Strange room. You'll have to uncover it's mysteries...

Is this for real? Your gonna have to find out.

The first floor...

UPDATE 12/23/06 - 3 new rooms and some extended scripting (snow, footprints.) Im not sure if it is a good idea, but I have added DEATHS. Yes you can now die in this game, in a variety of ways  :D. Im also in the process of writing the endings out and tweaking the story a bit. I wish I could give this as my christmas present but it looks like it won't be done in time  :). Well Merry Christmas to all and have a happy new year!

UPDATE 10/05/06 - Almost finished! Re-doing some backgrounds because of bad compatibility (walk behinds and character scaling.) Music is coming along pretty slowly. Well, it'll be done when it's done!

UPDATE 9/20/06 - So far so good, characters are almost finished! Backgrounds are a little short for now because I have been focusing on sprites for 10 days...

But the project is coming along. Still no release date, but shouldn't be too long.

UPDATE 9/10/06 - I announce this with much sadness but the project is going to be on delay for a little time. I have been really busy in school. But heres some good news:

New Backgrounds, Characters, and Music!!!

UPDATE 9/5/06 - Heres the new main character:

2X:

I used Prog's Roger for a reference. I hope that isn't a problem.  :)

And the game may take longer to complete now as I have started school again. Hopefully I can finish this one!

UPDATE 9/2/06 - 2 new rooms and more puzzles. Nothing for a character yet, that should be done soon (I hate drawing sprites :(.) Fixed the Lighter bug, as well as two new ones that came around during testing.

Oh, I didn't see that. Thanks for the info.

I was thinking that maybe to enhance the AGS lighting features that for every region, there can be a button you can check called Gradual Tinting/Lighting. Clicking this would show 3 boxes:

Red =
  • to [255]
    Green =
  • to [255]
    Blue =
  • to [255]

    And of course 255 being the limit, it would be changeable. And for lighting you could have another checkable box, and that would open two boxes:

    Min [-100] to Max [100]
    OR
    Min
  • to Max [200]

    Wouldn't something like this be better instead of using 3 to 4 regions for gradual lighting/tinting?

Its a little plain. For a crime scene, I would expect this:

1) Yellow tape (or chalk outlines  ;D)
2) Enviromental damage (gunshot decals maybe?)

Other than that, it isn't bad. I think the perspective on the left wall is off but im not really a pro at perspective points. Very nice overall!
