General Discussion / Re: Plane Terrorists

The only reason it bothers me is that these guys just don't stop. Are we really going to have to stop letting people take planes? Well, at least it was over the ocean too. Im not saying anything bad about the people on the planes but if they had gotten away with this then at least the planes weren't over anything but the water.

Did anyone hear about the terrorists they caught on the planes in London? They were carrying disassembled bombs aboard so they could put them together. They also said that there was a tape made for the suicide bombers for after they bombed. Has anyone heard about this?

The arm and foot movements are great, but she has no bounce. There should be some folding of the skirt as she walks and maybe add some bounce to her hair and breasts. I can't do a paintover right now but im sure you get what I said.

Not a main character sprite but:

It really is hard being a kid nowadays!

Not sure if it qualifies...

Well for adults, I think they can choose to themselves whether they can view those type of sites. As for children, AOL offers some security, and IE has its own security tab in Internet Options that can stop you from viewing these sites. But yes, I think the internet should have some of this "security" only because of work places, schools, and libraries. Frequently, at my school, fellow classmates have been looking up pr0n, which doesn't bother me in any way, but its the fact that these guys are doing this in a library, where little kids are around.

That "lengthy" process isn't too long IMO b/c you will still be drawing the handle image as well as the background image. So the only thing that really takes time is creating a slider, which doesn't take long at all. I don't think it is necessary but I don't see why it would hurt to have it.

Seeing how it is a padded room, shouldn't the door have padding on it?

Yay for funny people!

Thats the question. I have made up various types of posters. I myself am a Cautious Poster.Ã,  :D

1) Cautious Poster- You take 4 to 5 minutes to post a reply regarding a topic. After posting, you go back to proofread and make sure things make sense, without typing too much. This causes you to hit the modify button many times to ensure someone understands you or doesn't get at you the wrong way. You post in all areas but more frequently than others.

2) Fast poster- You have little to no time in posting a reply to anything. You constantly make errors in spelling and grammer, but try your best to help others. You stay away from long threads where someone has posted alot of text, and you don't type too much either. The forums you visit don't see you often, but you swing by every now and then.

3) Hardass Poster- You are egotistical, and can be cool sometimes. Other times, you are an ass, getting your point across through witty and sarcastic remarks. You don't really start too many topics, but you invade others and like to cause trouble sometimes. You don't care how your wording is and you don't take anything from anybody. You can be helpful sometimes, but most of the time, you make things worse.

4) Comical Poster- You are very witty, making people laugh at your posts. You post in most areas and have many friends who enjoy your posts as well. You explain how to help someone using easy and laughable comments. You cheer people up but you don't really start too many threads.

5) Serious Poster- You aren't here to play around. You hardly crack jokes at all. You vigorously look for helpful text in your threads, and you try to help others. You can't stand people who post information that isn't helpful, and you live life to the fullest. You tend to hang around the General area, replying to religious and political threads. You have made many contributions to the forum, and many people respect you.

6) Late Poster- You tend to live life slower than others, maybe too slow. You always reply to someone's post too late. Although you offer helpful information, someone beats you to it almost everytime. You tend to get on late at night or really early in the morning.
You have friends but you can never catch them on as late as you are on. You take your time with projects and posts, making sure you offer as much help, or bring all that you have to the table.

Just something I made up for fun. Sorry if this isn't allowed although I am sure it is...

Yeah I can't seem to fix the police car, but I think it looks fine for the scene, as I am using it only for the intro.

UPDATE: I know that I couldn't finish this before the end of MAGS, so I decided to re-do most of the work. Here is a scene of a police car parked outside of your apartment. I don't really like the shadowing, but I worked roughly 2 hours on this.

Just a suggestion but these sprites would seem pretty cool in this game:

I don't see why anyone should hate SSH. He has contributed a nice variety of useful modules, and as for Pick of the Month, I think he is doing a good job. I think Some Peopleâ,,¢ should give him a smack on the back!  :=

Ugh...

Well the easiest way would be IMO to use a module found in the Technical Archive. The module is here:

The module itself is the SpinLock Module and should work for this.

Or if your bored, just go knock on someone's door and runaway. Thats always fun isn't it?

General Discussion / Re: The Worrier's thread

I have a phobia of cooking. Seriously. I can't cook something in my house when I am alone b/c im afraid that it will start a fire or I will forget about it and start a fire, and it has happened before. I was home alone for one night, and I was making potatoes on the stove top. I forgot it was on and a fire started in my kitchen. I smelt something burning so I ran in the kitchen and tried to put the fire out. By then, it had grown so large that I had to call the fire department. To this day, I do not cook UNLESS someone is home with me.

Its funny, I was on this forum too when it happened. Damn you CJ and your "AGS"  bullshit  :P j/k

You could definately use RawDraw functions to achieve a Laser Beam effect.

Animations and objects. Seriously. All you have to do really, is make an object with a bullet sprite. Then have it move to the character.

(not sure if usable with newer AGS, im a oldie  :P)

MoveObjectDirect (int object, int x, int y, int speed) -blocking command
AnimateCharacter (CHARID, int loop, int delay, int repeat)

After the bullet moves to the coordinates (which would be the character who is getting shot's coordinates) you play an animation, which would be your guy falling and blood coming from his body.

Well you could create a GUI, and add 3 labels: Strength, blah blah, and blah blah, blah blah being Wisdom or whatever. Then you add 3 up arrow buttons. In the script for that button, you would put something like this:

(don't know if this works with newer AGS)

if (GetGlobalInt(5)>0){
   SetGlobalInt(2,GetGlobalInt(2)+1);
   SetGlobalInt(5,GetGlobalInt(5)-1);
   }

this says if your GlobalInt Stat Points (5) are greater than 0, you will add 1 to GlobalInt Strength (2) and subtract 1 from GlobalInt Stat Points. Before this, you would put:

if (GetGlobalInt(5) <1){
    return;
    }

This says that if Stat Points are less than 0, you can't add anymore points because you don't have any. You can do this with anything really, just make sure you put the correct int values. Not sure if this will help you, but good luck!
