The characters are good, the bgs aren't too good though. If anyone wants to help with the backgrounds, they can. And btw, I'm REDOING most of the backgrounds so there, loresman. And many other games have bad bgs AND characters (especially Life of D. Duck). Go to www.freewebs.com/bonevillegames to see some characters (and whoever it was that posted on that site's guestbook and put R U GAY?, you are a pervert and don't go there anymore).

Characters are good? Er, depends on how you define good, I s'pose.

This Life of D. Duck. Did the artist say on many occassions that the artwork was good or going to be remade to be better? Ã, If (s)he did, were they being serious? (I've not played or seen it, so I can't judge).

And as for complaining about comments on your guest book.. Ã, Why bother making a guest book if you're going to throw a fuss over the comments? Ã, It's like having a suggestion box and then stropping if some one suggests something you don't like. Ã, People are entitled to their opinions, no matter how childish. Ã, If you give them an outlet, don't start moaning that someone has used it. Ã, Also, what is perverted about about "R U GAY?". Ã, It could have been a lot worse. Ã, Unless you're ridiculously homophobic or something. Ã, I'm assuming you're quite young, so I'd suggest you don't go critising people and cultures you have no experience of. Ã, It'll get to the point where you offend someone you shouldn't, and you'll suffer because of it.

Anyhow. As to my reason for posting..

The site. Ã, Aside from the midi files that play automatically, which annoys me greatly, since it's the standard "I have nothing to say, but I want a website" style of HTML from the late nineties..

It looks like you've put more effort into the site than you have into the game. Ã, I'm mean, Jesus. Ã, Make something, then make a site to promote it. Ã, Make anything for that matter, then promote it. Ã, The site should be secondary to a product. Ã, If you're that desperate to have an online personality, get a livejournal blog, or a myspace page. Ã, Something where you can tell us what music you like, what your favorite food is, what your idea of a dream date is, and what color socks you're wearing at the moment.

Or better than that, don't.. Ã, Because they are already too many desperate losers on the internet with absolutely nothing to say, but who still need a place to say it.

Fear, Love, Anger & Hate.
The four basic emotions, as I see it.Ã,  Any other emotions is just a watered-down aspect of one of these four.

I've pondered this subject at great lengths, on many occassions.

EDIT:

Emotions don't have opposites.

well, for one, I don't know how to post screenshots, so I CAN'T have anything to show for it. I have screenshots on a website, but I don't know what the coding is to post screenshots.

[and..]

check in the production thread everyone... there's a working thread for this game with screenshots and everything :=

1.Ã,  You could've just put the address of the image. Or read above the Message box during a post where it has a link saying "How do I post images, smileys and formatting?".
It's not rocket science.

and..

2.Ã,  Why not just put the thread in the Games in Production?Ã,  Was it really necessary to start a thread in Gen-Gen?

EDIT:
I just saw this was moved from Adventure Related Talk & Chat.  It's not really necessary to post it there either, tho.

I guess it might help the kids learn spacial awareness and whatnot, however..  with AGS being 2d, won't that ruin any chance of depth-perception?

Good luck to him, tho.
#326
You're just saying that because you leave the house less than I do.

Why not just make something, then post about it? Not just..

"I'm planning on making something, I'll let you know when I've actually got anything to show for it".

This is a forum, not a blog.

By the way, I'm thinking of ordering a pizza.  I'll post again to let you know when I've ordered it, and then again when it arrives.  After that, I'll post to let you know that I'm thinking about writing a review of it after I've eaten it.  After that, I'll post to tell you that I've eaten it and am about to start the review.

After that, I'll post to tell you that I'm thinking of ordering a curry next week.

I admit, this could've been a PM, but I think the reason for posting it should be a public one.

IE, http://www.xfm.co.uk/article.asp?id=188920

XFM (a London Radio station) announced that there's a weekend of "rock" music events on in Brighton between the 18th and the 20th of May.Ã,  That involves mostly crappy bands, but a few possibly good ones (65 Days of Static? I've heard Al Ninio and Petteri mention them).Ã,  More importantly, it involves several lectures. The ones on the Radio and the site mention Peter Hook and Michael Eavis.

For those that don't know, and can't be bothered to google.Ã,  The Bass player from New Order and the guy who runs the Glastonbury Festival.

I was wondering.Ã,  I know it's out of the blue, and a bit of a cheek for me to ask.. but here goes anyway..

1.Ã,  This question is to you, and the various Swedes currently living in your abode:
Would it be possible to crash on the couch? Assuming y'allÃ, are actually still in Britain at the time?
I'm OK sleeping in a hotel or hostel or whatnot, I'd just rather spend it with you guys. (Andail, Azadeh, Christian, Eric/Erik, Ida/?, Marie).Ã,  Plus we can have fun together, when I'm not attending the lectures (I don't really care much for the gigs, most of the bands seem rather crappy).

2.Ã,  Is Marie willing to actually speak to me again?Ã,  My plan is partly to come down to Brighton for the lectures and to see you, Andail, but also partly to come down and see Marie again.Ã,  Now that I've sobered up, and have a fully functioning brain, I've realised Marie was so awesome that if I was Emo, we'd be due for a tsunami.Ã,  IE, that awesome.Ã,  I feel sad when I think about the fact that I might never see her again.Ã,  As you asked at the café, we did hit it off.Ã,  I was still wasted from the night before, though, and couldn't really form a comprehensible answer.Ã,  So I think I may have just grunted, and shrugged my shoulders.

Assuming the answer to 1 and 2 is both no, after killing myself from feeling so unloved, I still plan to head down there.Ã,  Yuffie, Spaff, others..Ã,  Whilst I'm there, we'll have to meet up.Ã,  Spaff: I won't hurt you, no matter what Yuffie's told you.Ã,  It takes a lot to annoy me.

Well, actually, it doesn't it just takes you being a stranger offending one of my "friends".Ã,  Towel-Boy annoyed me for leaving Yuffie in London alone. "Edmundo-Man" annoyed me in Brighton for, not calling me a "c-word" repeatedly, but for saying "Effing foreigners" at the end, and rather at Marie. That's what put me into an Almost-Hulk Moment.

Anyhow, I digress. I think y'all get the point of this thread (as much as it pains me to make a new one).

Rock. Andy. Marie. Swedes. Yuffie/Spaff. Etc.

Not necessarily in that order.

Rock on, etc..

EDIT:
It's £35 for access to all gigs and lectures.Ã,  All within walking distance of each other, apparently.
Brighton's quite hilly.

Watchable, but a little too artsy-fartsy for my liking in the direction for my liking.  The idea behind the plot was interesting, tho.

Six beers and 20 fags from my local off-license.
£9.15.

I've been drunker and remember where I hurt myself.

I'd recommend something with a faster rpm, 10 000 or so, which will aid in the mixing.  Go with 16 meg cache, too. SATA if your motherboard supports it, but I'm not so sure it means you need to get an pci card to use sata.  That might slow it down, somewhat.

Wait a minute. Why the hell did I ask for a pillow?
More importantly, why does my ass hurt?

(My coccyx, at any rate.  Did I fall down a flight of stairs or something?).

Even further more I wil have the courage to 'break the balls' out of the one whoe repsonds here, while to a pro layer, I would only spend something like 10 minutes or so.

So, you're up on charges for soliciting?
#335
I sat on the floor? And who did you "pull"? One of us or one of the Swedes?

Anyhow, now my memory and general sobriety has recovered..
My Highlights:

- The three retards on the train down, who seemed to have elected a leader by him being the tallest, arguing about pocket billiards and perving on every girl they could find.
- The tuppence machines on the pier.
- The Ninja Something arcade machine, which has a light-gun thing.
- The music on the pier.  Muzak with lyrics.
- Matt's fruedian slip regarding trampolines.
- The Chav-spotting scorecard.
- The comedy toilets in the pub, that were so small the hand dryer was bolted to the back of the door.
- Baffling two tramps with a combination of maths, logic and my odd interpretation of reverse psychology.
- Spaff bringing Monkey Island beer mats, which I subsequently lost.  Unfortunately.  Thankies, Spaff.
- A poncy restaurant.  Spaff and Yuffie have fancy tastes.  Except when it comes to the actual food.  I still haven't a clue what that meal I had was.
- Going to the bar and asking for mustard, after we'd eaten.  Then asking for a spoon.
- Meeting Andail's house mates, and then playing several odd party game things.  Where I answered "Oberst" as three different subjects beginning "O".  I've still got no idea where I got the word "Oberst" from.
- The world according to the Swedish.  Which is still in 1977.
- Going to the off-licence and returning with enough booze to fuel Andail's party's for the next week.  Enjoy it, Andy.
- Trying to find the rock club, and going in the wrong place by accident.
- Spending a fortune in the Engine Room, one of the worst dives I ever found.  And I been in lots.  Like all the classics, there was sweat dripping of the ceiling.
- Ordering tequilas, it goes kind of hazy after that..  And I can still taste them now.
- Arguing with the guy who worked for the Engine Room, about my band's website.  Which, I now realise he's not actually seen.
- Being called an "Edmundo" by some guy outside Wimpy.  Apparently, "Edmundo" is some kind of odd slang version of the C-word in Brighton.  I still want to kick his ass.
- Calling 118118 and asking for a cab firm in Brighton and getting put thru to a place in Doncaster.  Or somewhere up north.
- Waking up still completely smashed.
- Hearing CJ talk about sausage bones.
- Tripling the 7UP sales in Brighton.
- Always going up hill. Always.
- Hearing about how well organised paedophiles are on the radio.  Juice FM, I think.
- The awful 4-train journey home after CJ dropping me outside a tube station.  Thankies for the lift, Mr. J.  It's much appreicated.. And lastly:
- Marie.  She rocked.  Hard.  (Unfortunately, chances are, I'll never see her again.  Insert sad face here).

Thankies to Andy and the other Swedes, for hosting and generally putting up with us.  You did a fantastic job.  Thankies to Yuffie for getting us to go there in the first place, even tho you weren't around for the majority..  And thankies to Marie for making my night, and I really hope you manage to get your coat back.

CJ I'll let you know tonight, please PM with your mobile number.  It will all depend on if I can get up in time, ergo what time I've managed to find all the stuff I need.  (IE, my DS, to give to scotch).  If I can't, I'll make my own way there, only later.  It also depends on whether I have band practice on Sunday morning.  If so, I'll be getting the last train back to London.

And as for m0ds.  If you're willing to pull a sickie, you can scab off me.  All I ask is that you fall out of another tree.

1. Where the hell is Hatton Cross?
2. I think the pier that burnt down was Southend Pier.  It was a dump anyway.  Populated by Boy Racers, Chavs and Junkies and Slags.  It's like a convention for baseball cap wearers.
3. 2p Machines rock.  It's like Vegas for cheapskates and pensioneers.

Did it have Matt Frewer in? The guy who played Max Headroom?

If it did, it was probably:

Are the dates set for the 18th? I personally would prefer the week after, since it's the last weekend my Dad lives in my flat before finally moving up North, and he'll be rather upset if I do a bunk.Ã,  If it can't be re-arranged, f*ck him, I've seen him enough times over the years to warrant a weekend off.

If you have space, CJ, and are willing to transport my ass and various other paraphenalia, I'd very much appreciate a lift. If not, I'm happy getting a train, apparently it's quite cheap for me.Ã,  (I'll sit left-back, to avoid fondling opportunities, a la Gilbofest).

Also, someone please explain the costs, pre-booze, to me, since I'm too drunk to make any sense of this thread.Ã,  Floor space, table space or bath space would be greatly appreciated, but if worst comes to worst, there's an all night Rocky Horror Picture Show night at some gay bar in Brighton.Ã,  If I shave my head again, I could go as Riff Raff.Ã,  I'd prefer something other than ass-space, tho.

EDIT:
I'll have a mobile number by the end of the week, I'll PM someone with it.  Hopefully I won't leave this mobile in Victoria Station like I did at Brittens.

A whole orchestra?

As for restaurants, I'd recommend avoiding "good" places in London, since no meal is worth the price they charge.  £80+ and a six month waiting list for a meal is ridiculous.

I'd suggest picking a style of food and then going to the area that does it.  Chinese from China Town.  Indian from Brick Lane.  I'd also recommend going there first, to see what sort of place it is, and furthermore, whether it's reasonably clean.
