Er, what's a "head" in metric format?  I know hands converted from imperial measurements, but this one is as confusing as a hundredweight,

Barbie's right.  AGS is a very helpful community.  The only downside, with being so friendly and helpful all the time, it's not long before some breaks their usual cool and criticises someone for making a post that is in the wrong place, come many times before or is quite frankly daft.

I've been AWOL for a while, and only really caught the whole Business Game malarky, so I'm not going to go on about any past issues.  I will say that most of the people in this forum are some of the most tolerant people on the internet, and if you're on the receiving end of their mocking stick, chances are you're the straw that broke the camel's back and then kicked it's shins whilst it was down.

Honestly, the main people here deserve a medal for how nice they are to people, despite how dumb some of those people have been in the past.  I've seen communities that start riots over things over the most mundane and innocent of comments.  I just hope you, and every other newbie (who won't bother to read this) in the future will take this in to consideration after clicking "reply".

Also, I'm not surprised Ashen helped you out.  He's a sweetie, even if he did plagurise my footwear.

Nikolas:
"And I plan on doing the same for my own son.."
You mean you want to marry him off? A tempting offer, but I think I'll pass for now.

Same question to contestant number two, please, Cilla.

And, Artist..  I hope that's an odd sense of humor and not just a family trait you're exhibiting there.

Alright enough fun, I'll shut up now.

Kudos for the history and whatnot.  It's nice to see people taking an interest in the past.  I'll give the poem section a proper read when I get the time, tho.  In my current tired and semi-sober state, I feel I'd be doing it an injustice at the moment.

As for a western made movie, one of my friends told me there was going to be a movie based upon it.  Admittedly, that was early this year or last year.  (What with the success of King Arthur, Troy, Alexander and Kingdom of Heaven).  Hopefully they will make one, since it's a relatively (if not completely) untapped area.  It's also a good plot to boot.

I've been planning to give it ago since I saw a TV trailer.  Then, today, I've found it's in Russian with subtitles.  It makes me kind of dubious.  I think I'll wait a bit and see what all the reviewers are saying first.

I, for one, accept this apology whole-heartedly.  I didn't want to seem like I was nagging or bitching in my last post, and if it seemed that way, I too apologise.  Hopefully we can all move on from this situation well.  In the spirit of love and peace and whatnot, let me welcome you.

I guess I shouldn't have had those beans for tea..

Altho, on a serious note, in case anyone is from the area or knows anyone involved, you have my condolences.Ã,  Natural disasters are a really crappy thing to happen, since no matter how much planning to put into things, nature has it's way of top trumping you everytime.Ã,  I must say, tho, a 90-storey building sounds like a bad idea from the get go.Ã,  The less storeys, the less stuff can fall on you.Ã,  (I understand the need for space, too.Ã,  I just think outwards is better than upwards when it comes to development).

Cheese..

Has someone tried to force you into using taking these pills against your will? Ã, I doubt it. Ã,  Some people aren't happy with their bodies, and it's their perogative to follow any means they deem necessary to change themselves. Ã, Various gender realignment techniques have been around for a long time. Ã, Are you going to make juvenile comments about of all those, as and when you discover them, too?

I'd like to put my name donw for this for two reasons.

1. I want to see how big finland's pizzas are compared with the english.
2. I have a coupon for a free meat-based burger that I'll never use, that you gave me during Brittens 2005.
3. I want to travel and see the world, and not get laid in as many countries as possible.
4. I want to try the North State ciggies you mentioned (or something like that).
5. I have nothing better to do with my time and money than get drunk in my home town.

I wouldn't like to put my name down because of 6 reasons.
1. Vel is probly spinning in his grave right now, for my inexcusable lack of giving him the files he needs for completely the latest ezine.
2. Vel, unfortunately, isn't deade and therefore I'm still not off the hook. (100 more years and i'm in the clear..).

I totally need help because of an infinite number of reasons.
1, 8, 43, 666, 2007 and more. I can't count to save my life.

I'm totally planning a lapaset meeting, tho. It'd be neato to see you and your lasers again.  *wink* *nudge* etc.

(Vel, you'll get the files as soon as we're both on #ags together.  Using your or my ftp account didn't work so well since I winged your password, and can't actually remember mine.  What with work and band recently, I just haven't had time to fix the situation, apologises. It's not my plan to make you look bad.  I'm sure you know that.  What with being bulgarian, you generate enough bad press by just existing for me to want to stick the boot in).

(Vel, I know you suck at humor among other things. Most of that last paragraph was for comedic purposes only, I love and respect you really).

(Everyone but Vel, Vel has no genetalia. Laugh amongst yourselves).

Did that immigrants of yours lost their entire familly and did terrorists burn their houses..
Most of our immigrants are currently coming from Kosovo and the surround areas.

So you mention huge ammount of money?
You think we see the money?  Are you really that naive?  Try reseaching into world debt.  You'll find that most countries in Africa have enough money to feed everyone, however the people never see that money.  The money all goes into stopping other countries invading.  I'm sure if you traced the money from your own country, you'd find funds that could be diverted to aiding the people, and not the governments plans.

And those immigrant of yours are they english people?
Please rephrase that question so it makes sense.  If you bother to research history, you'll find that the majority of our population isn't truely English.  Anglo-Saxon is not English.   It's a bastardisation of the English tribes, and the Germanic tribes from a thousand or more years ago.  Immigrant by definition means non-native.

Ask yourself WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT
Since this point doesn't even make any sense, I'm not going to justify it with a proper response.   Randomly "shouting" at me isn't a recognised form of debate and doesn't make me or anyone respect you more.  Until this, I was somewhat enjoying this debate.  I was learning about Serbia, and Serbia people's attitude towards the world as a whole.  Seeing something like this makes me think I've been wasting my time responding to an immature child's rantings, who thinks he's losing an argument (which it's not).  I'm sorry if this offends you, but I thought I was discussing a situation that is close to my heart with someone who, if not an adult, at least had the respect for other people to convey his opinions as such.

Oh, I see. Serbia has lost 1 000 000 refuges being sent out to other countries. Ã, I was assuming you had taken in 1 000 000 refuges, judging by you post. Ã, I thought you meant 1 in 8 people didn't belong in your country.

Besides. Ã, Assuming England has a population of 55 milllion (it's higher), then we have an "immigrant" population of 7.9+ million. Ã, More than all of Serbia. Ã, That's based on the last census that we took. Ã, Our "immigrants"now out total your entire total population. Ã, So the percentage last census was only 6.9%, it's still on the increase. The government and local councils get paid for taking in these people, my own council gets £35 000 for every person they take in. Ã, Still, it's less that 0.01% of the population that gets bothered and act on this fact. Ã, These people, thankfully, are being arrested and (as often as I can hope) convicted for their racist, self-centred and morally corrupt views. Ã, I thought you, as religious person, could understand how these people's view are ethically sick.

And as far as Sh*tar's original post goes, he asks "Why can't we all just get along?". Ã, It's true, he's been incredibly immature in the past, but he has my full respect on this subject. Ã, Everyone should be able to get along. Ã, It's people's senseless belief that a piece of land matters more than a person's life, that has crippled the world since the dawn of time. Ã, It's people who cling to an ultimately pointless notion of nationalism that half of the world's conflicts have been fought because of. Ã, It doesn't matter where a person was born, brought up, lived or died that matters. Ã, It's the fact that they are a person.

Also, on a side note, I'm not opposed to various area's having their own cultures and traditions. Ã, I just think everywhere's cultures and traditions should be open to anyone who wishes to indulge in them.

You are realy smart guy but keep your mind on your bussines.

Do you want to rethink that remark?Ã,  Surprisingly, this is a multi-cultural, mulit-national forum.Ã,  You've taken the entry test, such as it is.Ã,  You should know that all it requires is a modicum of general knowledge and a vague inkling of common sense..Ã,  And yet you tell me to mind my own business?Ã,  I'm sorry, but bringing this subject up in a public forum, denies your right to keep it personal.Ã,  The Internet, and this forum is a public affair.Ã,  If you wish to conduct a private discussion, you should do so accordingly.

Can I ask why you tell me to mind my own business?Ã,  Is it because I'm not a Serbian?Ã,  Do you think that since I don't have the same background as you my response is not valid?Ã,  It seems to me, that you're more nationalist, close-midned, and xenophobic than I first thought.Ã,  Sure, you say that you're in favour of a planet that doesn't count on borders and ridiculous thoughts of seperatism, yet in the same post, you mention how every eighth person doesn't belong in your small section of the world.

I think you sit down and think about your view on the world as a whole, and not spurt the teachings of your parents, peers or school without at least questioning their judgement first.Ã,  Note: "World as a whole", not "Serbia's place in the World".

EDIT: I made large grammatical errors, IE missing half a sentence. They have been fixed accordly.

Secondly, we don't all speak foreign languages. This is an English forum from creation.  For the aid of everyone else, at least provide a basic translation of what you're saying to others in English.

Thirdly. It's sport. Who really cares?  Does it really matter which country can punch a ball over a net better than others?

Don't get me wrong, proudness of ancestors is a fine thing, but caring about the fact that you're Serbian and someone else is not is a very small minded way of thinking.  You're not the victim of genocide for the fact that you wear glasses (research Polpot), so what's the problem?  You live on Earth. Earth is multi-cultural.  Try taking a look at the bigger picture before throwing your two cents into an argument.  Two cents doesn't count for much if you're not even willing to check the exchange rate.

...And more then a 300000 people where dislodged from their homes.
It's a long story and we don't know every detail but we know that serbia is probubly at the first place of refuges number in the world.

Congo-Kinshasa: Almost 2 000 000.
Afghanistan: 3 600 000 + 375 000 internally displaced.
Colombia: Over 2 000 000.
(Direct Quote)Sudan: The government intensified bombings against civilians and humanitarian aid. Sudan is the single largest source of total (old and new) uprooted people in the world (both refugees and internally displaced).
Eritrea-Ethiopia: 750 000 in three years.

300 000 doesn't seem so high now, does it?

2.

I understand the whole deep-rooted hatred over the loss of Kosovo. Ã, Every Serbian Kinght who went to battle, 15 June 1389 (St. Vitus' Day) died fighting the Ottoman Empire. Ã, Kosovo has a certain meaning to you. Ã, However, it's just land and people. Ã, We're all human. Ã, Personally, I couldn't care less about what "nationality" I am. Ã, As long as I can live peacefully, who cares?

3.

Indians.
They prefer the name "Native Americans". Ã, India is a country, in Asia. Ã, The Sioux, Apache, Cherokee etc you refer to are not from India, ergo they are not Indians.
They are not always perceived as Evil in American films. Ã, Some tribes were more vicious than others. Ã, Actually watching the films might give you an insight into this, and stop you making just broad generalisations.
Oddly enough, they didn't live peacefully before the Europeans arrived. Ã, Tribes would fight other tribes. Ã, Much like the did in Europe centuries before.
I'm not sure what you're taught in Serbia, but I think you'll find that Native Americans are still alive and well in the USA.

4.

Slave trade.Ã,  Fine.Ã,  Slate America for having Slaves.Ã,  Just remember, they were brought over by the Europeans, who then lost the country in 1776.Ã,  America didn't invent slavery, and weren't the last to use it.

5.

Terror.Ã,  Albanian terror in Serbia.Ã,  Al Qaeda's terror on the world.Ã,  You may have dealt with it discretely.Ã,  However, the World Trade Center wasn't bombed by the same losers who hit the building in Okie, it was an international terrorist group.Ã,  It's hard not to retaliate with alerting the world to the situation.
Also, America was criticised for their actions, globally.Ã,  It's not like everyone stood by and said "Hey, it's America.Ã,  They get to do what they want".

6.

God.

You seem to mention him or her a lot in your posts. Ã, I'm Assuming it's a Christian interpretation of a Deity. Ã, Personally, I am offended by you forcing you religious beliefs upon me. Ã, I don't post message after message, telling what you should and shouldn't believe. Ã, I would appreciate it I you didn't do the same to me.

If you really are that bothered by religion, then I suggest you voice those concerns in a religious forum, and not one based around a game making engine. Ã, I'm sure you wouldn't like someone telling you how your belief system is wrong and that you should follow a different path..
..That's as far as I'm willing to enter into a Religious debate right now.

Before ranting away on various subjects that you think you're correct with, I'd suggest doing a little research into each point first. Just to make yourself a little more credible.

To Vince and any others involved.Ã,  I hope everything's Okay.Ã,  Anything that isn't Okay, I hoped it's insured.Ã,  Good Luck.

In response to Kinky's comment:
London's Blitz gave us a chance to build more modern buildings, and rescape the city.Ã,  New Orleans has that opportunity now too.Ã,  I too am interested in what they'll do to it during the rebuild.

Personally, I'm semi-paying scotch to help me with coding work.  (Semi as in I've sort of paid him, but as yet have nothing to code).  It's not so I can make a commercial game.  It's so I can make a game I'd enjoy playing.  If paying someone to help me would increase the enjoyment, then I'm happy to part with the money.

Most people, I'm sure, would help the others out for free, so I can't see them refusing to work with out being paid.  They're more likely to refuse because of lack of time or, more often than not, because they don't know the newer people (ie, "Hi, I'm new.  I'm putting together a team..").  Remember, too, that people offer to pay the others, not the others demanding payment.

The people who charge for services, also have to put a lot more of an effort in than the casual helpers.  Most people don't have the time to do that often, and it's highly unlikely that they'd make much money in the first place.

As far as I can tell, the whole payment thing is a pretty good idea, because the makers who have a real passion for their ideas will be the only ones willing to fork over their money.  The people who have that passion are also more likely to make a good game.  The hired workers would help to make that a great game.

I had no idea any of this crazy stuff was even happening until I landed.Ã,  A sad end to an otherwise fantastic trip.

That's what we get for me not wearing my 4th of July shirt..

That and bad karma for us not paying for the last night.

EDIT:
I'll post my (poorly taken) photos once I figure out how.

I'll set you up an account after Brittens (I need to get the server administrator to enable a couple of options first, no biggie.Ã,  He's s'sposed to do it anyway, I just haven't got the time to check everything is in order just yet).Ã,  When it's almost ready, I'll need to know the name you want..

http://www.lumpcity.co.uk/~whatever

..replacing "whatever" with what you want.Ã,  Let me know this, and I can set you up.Ã,  Once done, you can use that address to set up a whole site if you need to.Ã,  Hence, I'm not sure if you want "../~garagegothic" or "../~nameofdeveloper" assuming you have help making it.

Either way, let me know what you want, and I'll get on it as soon as possible.

EDIT:
That is assuming I don't set up a 3rd/4th/5th website/server once I get back.  I get bored and spend things on crapola like a crazy man.
