General Discussion / Re: Anyone seen "Saw"?

I thought this film already had a thread, back when it was at the cinema.
If there is, chances are, LGM started it.

Finally! Someone else who saw this terrific film!

Haven't most of us?

Pete, personally, I'd recommend you pay to have a test done.  They're not too expensive.  And here are the reasons why:

1. Peace of Mind.  Deep down, you might not realise it, but something like this will bother you over time.  It'll start nagging at you, and get worse the longer you wait.
A friend of mine is a more extreme case, since he's a hypochrondiac but the basics are the same: He reads about an ailment, thinks to himself that it's possible that he could get it, panics and asks everyone for info, researches it himself, finds the worst case scenario, convinces himself he's got it, panics some more, goes to the doctor a few times, convinces himself the doctors are wrong, panics more, irritates others around him, goes to the doctors again, moans that they don't have a clue what they're doing, panics more, makes himself genuinely ill from stress related issues, then finally realises that he hasn't got post natal depression.
Basically, it's better to no for sure than to have doubt.

2. Assuming it's a good result, you can get on with your life.  Until you know for certain, it's not wise to get funky with anyone, just in case you are infected and as a result, they get tainted too.  Just imagine how you'd feel if this actually happened.  I'm not saying you can't keep your pants on for more than an hour, but I'm saying it's better to know you're in the clear in case that special someone comes along and grabs your ass.  "Sorry, not for the next few months, I might be the death of you" doesn't make a very good first impression.  If it does make a good impression, I'd suggest against a relationship with aforementioned ass-grabber.

3. I'm guessing that the healthcare system down under is free, like in Britain.  If it is, then it's probly crap, like in Britain.  I, and some others I know, have had bad experiences with free healthcare.  Most of the doctors in private clinics are making a small fortune every pay day, so they take they're jobs very seriously.  One malpractice suit and they're back to shining shoes on a street corner for beer money*, so they make sure everything is done properly, first time around.

At least look into getting a private test, for instance, the cost and the likelihood of a conclusive result.  You might find that it's a more preferable option.

*(I'm assuming the said malpractice suit pwns them hard).

Awesome.  Only 473 PMs to go.

There's quite a few poets here, as well as a few short story writers.
ProgZmax is a would be novellist, and the guy who made Larry Vales has a novel, too.  (And Her Life Will Be Set To Music, or something like that.  I'm thinking Phil Reed, but I'm not too certain. I'm sorry).
Evenwolf has done some comedy writing, too.  LGM has written some screenplays.
So yea, there's quite a few creative writers.  Whether they'll post or not, is unclear, tho.

I would post my script for a six part comedy show, however:

1. I wish to make money from it.
2. I still have to write it.

If you'd left it on lumpcity.co.uk, you could have built yourself a forum and stuff.  It supported it and whatnot.

But, I can see your point about exposure.

Oh, and you'll get your ep when we've gone back into the studio, sometime in the next month, and recorded a bunch of new stuff.

Firstly, this thread had drifted off the first page, so..

*bump*

Secondly, don't worry about refund the chain, they're reasonably easy to find.

Thirdly, what's the possibly of getting it cast in a different metal? like steel, or silver? and how much would that cost?

Xylot sounds like a planet where all the inhabitants are wooden ocelots.
Terranopolis would translate as City of Humans.. or words to that effect.
TerranEx looks a bit hokey.
and Planet-R just seems like a lame cop out in a sci-fi flick, where they couldn't think of a cool name.  It also seems a bit "M-Class Planet" style, where R-Class would be horrible, if it even exists.

Personally I'd go with Xylot, but have you thought about "TerranX.net"? or .org?

Right-o.  A couple of questions..
1. The Chain.  How sturdy is thing thing likely to be? The amount of things I've had round my neck and broken in the past..
2. This bronze stuff.  What's the likelihood of this bronze stuff making a green patch on my chest? The amount of times I've been left with green patches..

Assuming the answers to the above questions are the answers I want, put me down on the list.  If they are not, I'll probly end up having one anyway, but will have to plan days to actually wear it.

(In other words, I don't like removing jewellery that much what with my paranoias.  Ergo, I pick things that usually last).

Apologies if this post makes me look dumb.  It feels wrong when I read it back to myself, but currently, I don't have the smarts to improve upon it.

Spring Break?
Unless it's on a weekend, I'll be doing the same as the rest of the year: Lifting boxes and getting drunk.

If it's a weekend, I'll just be getting drunk.

But liquor is quicker.

That one fits me pretty well.

It's not really like a Lambo in need of a jump start. It's more like having a bitchin' car, but with no where to drive to.

General Discussion / Re: What's your soapbox?
Fri 04/03/2005 03:16:16
Not so much preaching, but in real life I have a tendancy to argue about anything.  Even when I know full well that I'm wrong.  One of my friends is the same.  I'd argue that the sky is vermillion, and he'd argue that the sky is chartreuse.  As soon as one of caves, the other would probably change his arguement to "The sky is taupe".

I main topics to rant about are usually movies, music, law/prisons, and philosophy/religion.  However, I try my best to avoid arguing with people online, since it usually serves no purpose other than making both parties look incredibly dumb.  Although, if it's a subject that I do feel strongly about, I will go all out and voice my opinions on it.  When I do, it's not for the sake of an argument, it's always my true feelings on the topic, no matter how absurd or extremist they seem.
