K, here goes..

1. f, g and i. Post-Apocalypse
2. b, c and d.
3. Kinda both - various large places, ie Indy.
4. a.
5. b. (Depending on the franchise).
6. a.
7. It would depend on the game, I like all three.
8. Most games I like are 320x200.  That's purely for computer capabilities.
9. a and b. It would depend on mood of the game.  I'm not a fan of CG.
10. a and d. I'm willing to try new things.
11. a.
12. a. As long as they have some kind of logic to them.
13. Both.
14. Monkey Island II.

Critics' Lounge / Re: New Character for C & C

Ok, not the best of pics.  A 60 second doodle to try to explain what I mean.
Since I like the basic shape of it, I try and develop it a bit more when I get a chance.

EDIT:
Ok, the first image was, well.. crap. So, here goes..

I'm kinda pleased, and it explains the matchstick-ness I mentioned earlier.

EDIT:
Also, modifying the back..  giving him an ass wouldn't be too bad an idea.

Here's some guide to the ultimate lampchops..

NOTE: They go *infront* of the ears.

The girl.  Bigger eyes.
The mob boss.  I'd say a white suit.

As for the outlines, most will say the outlines should be a darker color of what they're outlining.  eg. Dark blue outline for the jeans, grey outline on the vest, etc.  However, personally, I really like the black lines.  It's just the double pixels that looks iffy,  Far right's armpit, for example.

What res is this going to be, by the way?

I can't wait to see more of this..  (hint: work, damn you..)

I had a quick stab at it..  Nose and Lambchops..

For the nose, removing a pixel looks a bit better.
As for the stocking..  I meant the blurredness.  You can't see the features of a bank robber's face very clearly.

The sideburns..  I can see they go behind the ears, but real sideburns don't.  The are in front of the ears.  Your character currently has rearburns.  Which sounds extremely painful.

EDIT:
Also, try to avoid jpg's.  They suck.  Use gif for up to 256 colors, after that use png.

Thanks! He's intentionally thin. Think er... The Nightmare Before Christmas or something like that.

He looks more like a gingerbread man.  The head needs to be more rounded and the body more matchstick-like.  Imagine him naked, and draw on tight clothes.

EDIT:

What I think Oneway was confused by, is the fact that you don't "ask a suggestion".

Also, as to the actual picture..
He looks like he's wearing a light stocking over his head.  IE, the face is a bit blurred.
From the side, he looks like he has a pig's nose.
The shine on the shoes for the far left and far right are nice, only the rest look to be in the wrong place.
He has stains where his buttons should be.
Sideburns go in front of the ears.

Needs work, but could be good.  Kinda like the Gene Machine.

Looks pretty nifty.  As for the music, what genre and what format.  I might have some spare time coming up.

EDIT:

Cartoon-y as a genre is a bit vague.  Powerpuff was kinda punky, Fantasia was Classical and I can't remember the DOTT music.

I'd suggest sorting out the walk before worrying about the cape.  His feet look like pistons.  His hands are kinda spacky, too.

Title screen.  Neat, clean lines and nice backdrop..  the character looks a little out of place tho.  Possibly make a hi-res version with nifty shading for this.

Mr Frenchy's office and stuff.  It's neat.  Neat enough to look like nobody actually works there.  Also, for some reason it's isometric.  It looks like Mr. Frenchy will have hit-points, and have random encounters with water coolers.

Lacklustre/Big Top Barbers.  I like the name of the vid shop, and the shape doesn't seem to bad.  It needs a shading, tho.  Even if it's just a light variation on the walls, at the moment it looks very flat.  As for the barbers, it looks very CAD-ish.  Like a technical drawing, but with the perspective of the roof a bit wrong.  The door looks like it's just been tacked on as an after-thought.  Also, the cash machine looks like it just been wheeled into place by someone with a lazy eye.

Inside the video store.  This is my favorite of the BG's, however..  The bricks seem a bit iffy, possibly they're too small, I'm not sure.  The perspective of the shelves on the back wall is out, unless the shelf is falling towards the camera.  The shadows on the floor, for the shelf and counter are wrong.  The whole in the floor, with the yellow line..  what is this?  Also the big top seems to be in the wrong place.

Inside the big top.  There's not much here, so I'd rather wait for a later version before commenting.

Fanny Packs..  With this, it's looks like you've forgot the rest of the art and tried to go for a new, wonky, DOTT-esque style.  I don't think it's working, and would suggest you stick to the realistic style of the rest.  If you want a cartoon feel to it, sure, go with it.  It's much harder, and needs to whole thing to be done in it.  With different settings in different styles, it could end up being rather annoying to play.  I know it would cheese me off.

In general.  The whole thing needs a lot more detail, obviously these are early drafts, but two and three definitely look like they're going somewhere.

Also, what the hell is going on with the sky?

To resize it in photoshop, there's a choice resize methods..  It's bi-linear or pixel resize or something.  Just test them out see which comes out best.
To resize it here, use (img width=## height=##)link.whatnot/pic.etc(/img) only with square brackets, not round.  eg..

EDIT:

I'm not quite sure what distance you're focusing on.  The bottom cloud has sharp edges, whilst the lighthouse itself is blurred.

My band uses streamlinenet.co.uk..  which does says it does php, but I'm having real problems getting it to work.
My personal site is with perfecthosting.co.uk..  which so far, I use for email purposes.  Nifty, cheap with 3 months free, i think.

Technically, I'm a professional musician.  In reality, I'm in a band which is putting all of it's earnings back into itself, and am therefore broke.

As for what I want to be..  I want to be a few pounds lighter than I actually am.  Rockstar status would pay for the liposuction and cocaine abuse.

Here's hoping..

It looks like a cross between Jimbo and the Jet Set and Prince Valiant.
Nifty.

I'm with Miss P on this one.  I did a Computer Science A-Level a few years ago.  Only, we were using an early version of basic on outdated Acorns.  If memory serves, there was also a bbc micro in the room.  At a college a few miles away, my friend was learning Java.  It might be better to go to learn it properly, but don't count on every place being able to teach you properly.

And the Blender/3d SM.. i'd start with which every was easiest.  If that means resorting pirating, then shiver me timbers, land ahoy, etc.

Also, I quit the computing course, universities said it was a complete waste of time.  I went thru crap for a year and a half for nothing.
