Becky... and a society where 2/3 of the minors of 10 years want to put a bomb belt and explode theirselfs in an Isrealian bus... Do we insult them?
If 2/3 of the minors actually did that, the statistic would very quickly become none of them wanting to do that, because all the ones who did had died...

Some people are attacking the reason for this nut in Virginia to be able to kill so many: lack of gun control

You are attacking the fact that nuts in Palestine blow up Isrealis. That is not parallel to attacks on gun control, its parallel to attacks on this Cho guy. I don't think you'll find anyone here trying to say that Cho is a victim, despite what Eagermind thinks.

To quote the late great Bill Hicks:

Quote
Like, I was over in England. You ever been to England, anyone, been to England? No one has handguns in England, not even the cops. True or false? True. Now-in England last year, they had fourteen deaths from handguns. FFFFFourteen!

Now-the United States, and I think you know how we feel about handguns-woooo, I'm getting a warm tingly feeling just saying the fucking word, to be honest with you. I swear to you, I am hard. Twenty-three thousand deaths from handguns.

Now let's go through those numbers again, because they're a little baffling at first glance. England, where no one has guns, fffffffourteen deaths. United States, and I think you know how we feel about guns - woooo, I'm getting a stiffy!  - twenty-three thousand deaths from handguns.

But there's no connection, and you'd be a fool and a Communist to make one. There's no connection between having a gun and shooting someone with it, and not having a gun and not shooting someone. There have been studies made and there is no connection at all there. Yes. That's absolute proof. You know, fourteen deaths from handguns. Probably American tourists, too.
(Angry tourist voice) You call this a sandwich? BANG! BANG! You don't boil pizza! BANG! BANG!
(Scared English voice) That's the way we eat here, that's the way we eat here! BANG!
(Tourist voice) This food sucks! BANG!

Of course, Yahtzee would have received the the AGS Lifetime achievement award by now... if he wasn't black.

Or maybe if Dave keeps making good games he'll be able to afford a trip to Brisbane, and hence be in the same position...

"The dialog options are drawn in the player character's talking colour. The highlighted option colour uses the GUI foreground colour if you are using a GUI TextWindow, otherwise it is hardcoded to yellow"

Are you talking about AGS, or real life? ;)

Surely that fact that you saw more broken Windows boxes than Macs or Linux is simply a reflection on their popularity?

http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/ isn't workign for me atm, but the same front page on adventuregamestudio.co.uk does work...

Also, I think the wiki should be linked on the left-hand main Menu on the http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/ main page...

Why don't you want to use "else if"?

And what do you mean by linking? If you have repeated code, you can make a function and call it...

General Discussion / Re: Help! XP went mad!

XP Pro is really not that different from XP Home, it shouldn't be realted to the problems you describe. Also which desktop search are you using? Google? The google one indexed my work computer and some huge networked disks in a day, so perhaps use a different search program...

Have you tried a reinstall of XP Home?

SSH; interestingly, I recently taught common Swedish-English pronunciations mistakes for a class during my practice. I will actually try to implement a puzzle like that.

Glad I could help! I'll send you an invoice for my fee ;)

Don't worry, there are no stupid people on THESE forums ;)

Perhaps you could have a puzzle(s) where there is some character(s) who had instructions from the captain of the ship and misheard them and you have to work out what the captain really wanted: e.g.

A deckhand is struggling to control a huge bear that he thought the captain wanted, but he actually wanted a beer

The cook is brining the captain a sherry when he wanted a cherry

etc. See common scandinavian mispronunciations at: http://www.btinternet.com/~ted.power/l1swedish.html
