If you gave away the AGS *engine* free but just sold the game files, would that require an MP3 licecen, I wonder?  ;)

I liked the Belgian entry best. My kids loved the Greek "Opa!". Didn't think much of the German one, but its OK, even if she was trying make her voice sound like Bjork. The Danish one was a total Sting rip-off. UK was rubbish.

But AGS automatically creates the auto save game (agssave.999) as soon as you try and run, which will be why it is failing.

I think AGS has an option to change how save games are created. Perhaps this could be tried, although your installer may need to change permissions to allow save games to be created in the save game folder or somesuch.

These last two suggestions are easy to script. I'm puzzled why you think CJ's limited time is better doing this than something that can't be scripted.

Of course, women smoking has a certain freudian appeal, not sure what this says about male smokers...

Downhill areas can be more complex than that because if increasing Y means you are moving furtehr away from the camea then the up/down views also need to be flipped. See the Downhill module for example.

Any anyway, REAL AGS programmers would knock up a solution with ManualScaling in two minutes.  ;D

And now onstage we have...

The Next Act

(or)

Two people who just wandered in off the street

or, more literary:

The Mythology of Sentimental Postures

Schmaltz and Bathos

By Samorost-like do you mean it has some completely illogical puzzles with no clues to them?

I don't know why you guys are actually bothering with this so much. Hell, if Jesus came down and ruled the country things wouldn't get better. That goes for any political system of any country. Politics is like eating shit, you think you're voting for pouting, or chocolate instead, but you're only voting for the extra, the main dinner (aka shit) remains.

....says the guy who lives in Greece...  :=

Oddly enough, I used to work for the company that made the Transputer :)

I'm curious: I understand why you would like to shift towards a proportional representation, but are you aware that, along with lib-dems, parties such as BNP an UKIP would get a boost and almost veto power inside a coalition?

That's an inherent problem with any democracy: if enough people support ANY cause they can get a seat. Different systems just have different thresholds at different regionality levels. In some ways, the top-up system in Scotland (aka Alternative Vote) has the worst of both worlds in terms of letting fringe parties have a voice: they can get in locally OR regionally if there's enough bigots/nutters/commies in either.

Actually, the system that the Libdems want is STV I think, which means you state your first/second/third etc. preference. That means that BNP are probably LESS likely to get in as many would rather have lots of other parties than them. Not sure what it would mean for UKIP as they might be the 2nd choice for both BNP and Conservative voters, but they are unlikely to make it into the final rounds anyway.

This is little known, but it was actually in the Labour manifesto to have a referendum on the Alternative Vote system.

I like this interview.  But they are all so short and lacking in overall content and questiony quality.  I'd like to see more comprehensive interviews that dig deeper, demand more, and deliver touchdowns/goals.  In other words, less random, more well-ordered and thoughtful interviews that show the interviewer has put real time and effort forth.

Feel free to do an interview yourself of the required standard and I will publish it.

Why not remove them and see if the problem goes away?

Can you send me a zip of the game?

Sorry for the bump, but I'm doing this:

Code: ags

function SayCustom(String type) {
SmoothScroll_StopScroll();
player.StopMoving();
SetSpeechStyle(eSpeechSierraWithBackground);
gDeleteThis.Visible=false;
//cNa.Say(type);
cNa.GSay(type, cNa.View, 0);
SetSpeechStyle(eSpeechLucasarts);
gDeleteThis.Transparency=100;//Overhotspot GUI
gDeleteThis.Visible=true;

}

And it's not working at all.
The Z Order of the inventory is just 1.

And by default importing the Portrait gui, the portrait GUI has 200.
However the speech is displayed like it was without the GUI.

I use eLucasArtSpeech style for all the rest of the characters but Narrator (cNa).
There's no code affecting the zOrder.

I'm terribly sorry for the bump, but I just thought this be important to the rest.

I'll try and have a loook at making this work under 3.2 when I have a chance.

Meanwhile, lets have a vote on the quality of Harg's games: http://ags-ssh.blogspot.com/2010/04/lets-decide-this-once-and-for-all.html

SSH, the title "What do you think about the Cosmos Quest games?" is not correct. When you put an answer "Not played, but Harg is a numpty" which will be the winner (I'm sure), you have to change the title to  "What do you think about Harg and his Cosmos Quest games?"

I refer you to the answer Dualnames gave some moments ago.
