Just one question: what colour clothes were you wearing at the time, Fluke?

Regrets

I've a few, but they are probably too few or too small to mention. Sometimes, I did what I had to do and then you have to see it through, always. If you can, plan your course, and carefully take each step along the "road of life". But most important is to remember that what you do is part of what defines you and so what you did was your destiny, so to speak.

Yes, sometimes there will be times, as you may know, when one bites off more than one can chew, but through it all, when there is doubt, you've just got to eat it up and, where necessary,  spit it out. Face it all. Stand tall.

and do it myyyyyyyyy waaaaaaaaay......!

Awards winners, picks of the month?
#2389
OK, got it now!  ;D

Winzip won't unzip the file: it says corrupt archive and I tried both download sites on the games page  :(

Haha, my fishing for compliments worked!  :=

It has come to my attention that Some PeopleTM don't like that I'm doing the Pick of the Month on the games page here, or that I have been doing the AGS Awards. So, I'd like to reiterate that if someone else wants to do either of these things they are quite welcome to take over the responsibility. Or if they don't want to do them, but want to make suggestions for games to include or awards to have or anything.

Also, if you have any problem with me posting a lot, or any game reviews I may have done on other sites, or releasing so many Princess Marian games, or anything, really, please let me know directly: in this thread or in PM. Maybe I'm inviting a "slag off SSH" thread, but then maybe I deserve that. I tend to be pretty insensitive about stepping on other's toes and I'm sorry if I've hurt anyone's feelings, etc.

One thing I'm not doing, though, is leaving. Anyone who says they are usually comes back and I won't delude myself that I don't enjoy the forums. So if you wanted me to leave: tough luck.

Well, of course, I'm hardly likely to go after anyone anyway, especially for a freeware game, but I think its important to have a licence so its clear to people what the right thing to do is, and in case anyone makes a big profit from it!

I've posted in the Tech Forum about this, but I've moved my preference for licences from the MIT one to the Creative Commons Attribution-Sharealike. One good thing about it is that there are many localised versions of it for your own countries' legal systems.

Or get a hex editor and hack the protection byte.

Not under the existing licence, but yes if you use this new one: the choice is yours. However, I can't see why you wouldn't want to credit me... unless you've not got in-game credits, but then anyway it coudl just go in a readme or on the game page, or something.

As for your resource site, Jason, that's really just distribution rather than use and so I don't think any credit is required: except for the fact that it would be useful for peopel to know who to contact about the module... but that info is in the zip files anyway.

If you want any help adjusting the walkcycle, let me know. Glad someone is using it. He does look a bit "stompy"

You can use this new engine to run older games: so you could use the graphics filters on this even with older games

INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Copy the acwin.exe from your AGS editor directory into the game folder
2. Rename the game executable to ac2game.dat
3. right-click and drag the acwin.exe and create a shortcut
4. right-click shortcut, select Properties and in the dialog, add --setup to the end of the Target box (not inside the quotes, if there are any). Hit OK.
5. double-click the shortcut
6. Select the graphics filter that you want from the new setup dialog
7. Save and Run!

You can also use this runtime zip which you unpack into your game dir, run the rename batch file, run setup batch file and then you're away!

The rules of my existing licences are that I can't revoke them, but if you prefer to use the following licence instead, you can...
