Yeah, but you'd still have to tell people that they needed to make any backgrounds they wanted to use behind the scroller with a huge black bit off the side... I'd rather use an overlay if it comes to that.

Good idea, but I'd like to make it a module, and that idea relies on complicated instructions for the user...

Please post if you do get ANY crashes with this new version, as I'd love to find out if there's anything I can fix in the saveload GUI. I think it was an AGS problem though. Can I ask players to try saving with the stock GUI first, to make sure they don't lose anything and then try saving again with the screenshot GUI? Thanks!

Ongi etorri!

Your renders seem pretty good to me. They certainly look great to an untrained (in terms of 3d modelling) guy. One thing I would suggest, though, if you want to use these in a game, is where the characters are going to walk and what objects can be clicked on. Some of these views are very "far away" for an adventure game.

TO try and make a star-wars scroller module, I was trying to use RawPrintMessage and DynamicSprite.MakeFromBackground to grab the text as a sprite for it to be resized as it scrolls away. Now, this works, but unfortunately the text does flash up on the screen briefly, even if I do it in BeforeFadein. I was trying to think of a nice way to write on the screen invisibly, but can't: anyone got any ideas? The only thing I can think of is a giant black GUI covering the whole screen (or overlay, I suppose) but that sucks, really.

Can I point out that London tends not to have building numbers in the thousands, and doesn't have drains going under the "sidewalk" but rather more like this:

Love the dialog system: great!

btw, you used a slightly old version of 2.71 to make this, didn't you? The game doesn't quit properly for me, but CJ seems to have fixed this in the latest RC...

Just to explain: protestant churches generally believe in the priesthood of all believers, except the Anglican church which I would say exists in a strange kind of limbo between protestant and catholic, except they don't believe in limbo  ;)

So protestant churches believe you need a priest, its just that everyone is one, so they're not hard to find. That's the significance of the temple curtain being torn when Jesus was crucified : the division between God and man was removed and the need for seperate priests gone.

Bah! I should have won the last one, and I'd have done a cake theme  ;)

It's quite hard to do this one without descending into utter bad taste

Damn, and I was hoping I'd be the only full entry.

Actually, Ashen is wrong. You can do Hotspot.GetAtScreenXY(mouse.x, mouse.y) and if it is null, you are not looking at a hotspot, otherwise you are (and the function returns the pointer to that hotspot). You can also use IsIneractionAvailable to tell if a hotspot has an interaction, and you can use CallRoomScript with a aparameter to call a room-based funatiojn which can be codede to be hotspot specific. So you can entirely bypass the ineraction editor if you want, but it takes quite a lot of programming.

I think it is no longer politically correct to be politically correct.

Well rule 2 will be easier with AGS 2.7, but as long as you stick to the rules 2.62 is OK.

O the other hand, if you're the only entry but bend the rules a bit... :=

Internet relations, as well as any relations, are a double-edged sword, although with internet relations the risks can more than double. Granted, sometimes it's worth the risk, but generally I try to avoid...*ahem*...intimate relations with "girls" online. You never know the status of their genitals until it's too late.

Yes, becauase in Real Life (TM) everyone displays their genitals openly... ::)

Actually, Local Loop unbundling means you can get a BT line from other providers, and the wholesale line renatl price just came down, so more "one bill" deals will be available. Even without that, you can use carrier preselect to get other people to carry your calls on a BT line. I use justdialsaver but the website at uswitch.com will tell you the chepeast deal for all kinds of utilities, if you have a postcode for your house. If not, use the one of the base at which you are stationed, as it is likely to be the same rates anyway.

Would it be possible to have a function equivalent to FaceLocation, to make the camera point towards a particular point?
Yes. Yes it would.
I might even consider it. Snap or blend? What do you want it for?

Rotating the camera around  a 3rd person char or NPC, while continuing to look at them. Think Matrix bullet-time.

Error: Run text _Script.error - 6 running function 'go SaceLoad OK _Click'

Error: Error retrieving pointer: Invalid handle 492
in Save Games with screenshots (line 106, 117 244)
from global script (line 1986)

This is the same Internal AGS Error reported in another game. CJ hasn't been able to reproduce it yet, nor have I, so we don't know wheat the cause is, but the "Internal Error" indication tends towards an AGS problem. Trisk: you might want to use the lastest versions of AGS (2.71 RC3) and the savegames module to see if that makes a difference?
