OK, I know it breaks the rules, but there's a betahere:

http://www.fullyramblomatic.com/games/p12v10.zip

To quote the ramblomatic one himself:

"Basically, it's a life simulator set on a spaceship, like a hybrid of The Sims, 7 Days [a stranger], and the genre of Japanese dating/life sims."

Abdul, a lovely moor who has spent 32 years here, who speaks Spanish perfectly and mounts a Bethlem in Xmas.

Farl, you really need to look up all the meanings of the word "mount"  ;)  Don't worry, Marian makes the same mistake of saying "mount" when she means "assemble" or "put up". Maybe I'm the only one who knew what you meant there. Marian really misses the "Belenes" at Christmas, as they don't really do them here, or at least not on such a scale.

Is it me, or do a lot of Europeans seem to find themselves superior to Americans. They think their so much better.

It's not racism if it's true?  ::) For example, we know the difference between "they're" and "their"!

I think its really ironic that people who trumpet "we are a free country" and "i hate oppression" think that its Ok to inflict their views, such as "I don't care what your religion is, you can't wear an X" on others. They also tend to be the ones that say "people should be able to believe whatever they like" and then say "oh, but, you're not allowed to believe that I need to be converted, or to believe that I am wrong in my beliefs"

Heh, having had an ex-girlfriend from Bratislava and having sailed up the Danube from Budapest to Vienna, I have overcome the confusion that exists between so many people between Czech Repulbic, Slovakia and even Slovenia... :=

Ahah, so know I know what you actually want: you may be able to find some of that out on http://www.192.com

And Farlander, there is a Scots language version of the scottish parliament website and its not a joke, or at least not to the parliament. Myself, I'd rather they spent my taxes on something else... like having bottled water to flush their toilets or something...

Yay! Welcome back stuffed tiger!

Do you still want my help with a fight engine?

Ummm, DGMacphee, can you officially hand it over to someone then? I guess that it is you that gets to choose. If it goes to Pesty, I don't mind helping her out with anything (like trawling the forums for the list of possible entrants)

The world of business taxes is different again, anyway, but still taxes are either done by the council for amenitiies or centrally by the IR. In Scotland, the Water charges are included in with the Councili tax for individuals, but for companies, it may be different. In England Water charges come as a separate bill.

If you were looking to find out info from public records, the most cost-effective mewthod might be to hire a solicitor in Scotland (or wherever) to look the things up for you. There are solicitor finders on most property websites, such as http://www.espc.co.uk

There is one undeniable truth, and you all better believe it or FACE TEH WRATH:

No-one has ever changed their religious beliefs one way or another based on an an internet discussion thereof

UK Public companies (plc) have to file certain information annually at Companies House http://www.companieshouse.gov.uk/ where they are made public. On the other hand, I don't know how much they audit that info and police regulations other than the requirement to file the info...

There are other organisations like the Competition Comission, Takeover Panel and Office for Fair Trading that do some of the SEC's equivalent work, I believe.

EDIT:
After having a look at the SEC's website, I see that they also do some of the stuff that the UK Financial Services Authority does, too.

I might be able to do some of the work for it (after all, I did the FOREGOs last year), but I won't be able to do any website design for a voting page, etc.

Just show the beginning of the movie "Con-Air" at the debate...

In a country like America, where every man and his dog has a gun, you would think that means the police would be in danger more often but then the chance of the other person being a legitimate gun owner defending themselves is much higher, so they need more caution.

In the UK where handguns are banned and other guns rare, if you see someone carrying a handgun, they are pretty much defined as a criminal and a threat...

However, all of these things are dependent on the exact circumstances of the situation. Obviously some accountability is required or the police can shoot who they like, but then if there is too much caution the police officer and other members of the public can be at risk. I would argue that it should be decided case by case.
