Write your own dialog engine?

Seriously, though, it could be a good idea what hotpsot said. I would suggest that each dialog option has an extra toggle box called "Clickable". This way you could in general have non-clickable lines such as Hotspot suggested. Also there could be a global variable called  game.unclickable_dialog_justification, which could be set to CENTRE, LEFT or RIGHT to decide how the unclickable options are shown on the dialog GUI.

Probably savegames are the easiest way! It might also be nice to have a way to look at the code within the demo. Someone should write an AGS text file viewer (done already by RickJ?) and then have a text file of appropriate scripts in the text file.

Maybe the text file could be viewed as if it were a notebook in CJ's pocket?

Has anyone seen the movie "Jason X"  ;)

I don't think there's any reasons why you couldn't have a label in a dialog GUI. If you can't you can always have it in a separate, adjacent GUI anyway, although that would have be be turned on manually.

But if the insurance was done correctly, a licence agreement for the source could include a prohibition on decompilers and so on, and the insurance would pay for legal action to take down any websites publishing such a thing. That way, if you wanted to rip sprites, you'd have to write your own decompiler which is probably more effort than drawing some sprites, if its only for yourself.

I heard Trevor "Inventor of the Clockwork radio" Bayliss on the radio the other day and he mentioned in passing about copyright theft insurance. It seems to me that this might be good for AGS: if we paid for some for CJ, he could then make AGS open source without having to worry about someone stealing it and claiming it was theirs. Well, maybe there's other reasons he doesn't want to do the open-source thing, but I just thought it was an idea...

Any thoughts, folks? A quick google on my part didn't seem to find any info on where such a thign could be obtained.

The easiest way is surely to make the caption part of the Dialog GUI?  ;) :P

Blimey, a one-way ticket to another country, that's quite a life-changing decision. Good luck!  ;)

I'll give Layabout the same advice as I gave Kylie. If you want to make it big over here, wear a skimpy outfit and wiggle your bottom. Alhtough,, I must admit, she said "Nah... na naaa nana na na na"

It is BBV's policy to not argue with customers so technically I should have just given him his wish ...

I would have posted mine at the time, but the web didn't exist in 1990.  ;D

Anyway, I got a "1" in Maths, Physics, Chemsitry, Geography and Technical Drawing and a "2" in French and English

In my Highers I got "A" in Maths, Physics, Chemistry and Technical Drawing

and in my degree I got an upper second...

I guess you might be duplicating a lot of the work done by Radiant in his KQIII+, although obviously he is not redrawing graphics like you are. Maybe you can get together and share?

She actually has to keep her ketones down as more important than blood sugar. A few high readings on the blood sugar don't makea difference   (and just mean a bit more insulin is required anyway) but the ketones can lead to acid blood which can damage the baby. So she has to eat lots of carbs and avoid vomiting (she's on anti-naseau medication too).

What's your game about and can you post a screenshot?

The possibilites of AGS are limited only by your imagination and by your programming skill.
#4139
If AGS were a project with unlimited programming resources for the engine and editor, yes, great, 2.5D, 3D, 9D, whatever...

However, there is one CJ and he is a mighty and jealous CJ. Have not-eth another adventure game engine developer before him, for great and powerful is his wrath. Ooops.. got carried away. There is only one CJ and limited is his time for wraughting  the great EXE of AGS... so I'd much rather he implemented all the other things on the To-do first before getting on to 2.5D in about the year 2035.

Actually, I was more looking for anyone with diabetes who could tell me that they get by fine despite it, becuase my wife unfortunately had to go into hospital last week with hyperglycemia (high blood sugar) and hyperketosis (toomuch fat being metabolised). These are particulalrly worrisome due to the pregnancy, although it is the pregnancy that has caused them. She's worried thoguh that she could have diabetes permamnantley (of which there is a small but tangible risk) although her (much milder) case did go away after our first child.

So, if you've got diabetes and you get by fine, then please post here, or PM if you prefer to keep it private. But also, I thought it might help some people if they could share their experience with other chronic illness. Of course, no doubt there will be a few jokes about some VD or whatever, but I think there can be some support on this forum, and not just on the best way to use SetCharacterTransparency...
