General Discussion / Re: Food Update

There are plenty of organic milks, free-range egss, etc. available if you're worried about hhow the animals are treated. I blame Disney for the rise in vegetarianism: all those cute cows, sheep, etc. COW AND SHEEP ARE NOT CUTE!

No doubt there will be a decline in fish consumption since Finding Nemo. That's actually a good thing given the terrible overfisihing that has been going on since they invented trawling. And you can get the Omega-3s you need from Walnuts....

Have you tried modifying game.items_per_line  ?

General Discussion / Where is scotch?

Where is scotch, I haven't seen him for , ooooh, five months

Well, I didn't say at the beginning, in case I got replies from a bunch of pervs, but the writing and drawing style on the messages mad eit obvious that these were kids who were eating at the resteraunt with their parents. They probably didn't have a Sydney A-Z to hand. Anyway, Kinoko has already agreed to do the deed, so I think receiveing two replies for one bottle would spoil the joke....

You are Yahtzee and I claim my $10!  ;)

Try StrCmp instead of == in your if statement...

Oh, I'm pretty sure the other address is authentic. I checked the postcode on streetmap.co.uk and it matches the rest of the address.

Could you check if there is a Didgeridoo ROad in Sydney  ;) ?

On Sunday, I found a message in a bottle on the beach. Excitied, I opened the message and read to my chagrin that the message had travelled about all of 2 meters, given that it was written on the menu of the resteraunt that was right next to where we found it. However, there were two addresses written on it. One was:

Eustie Wallabie
73 Didgeridoo Road
Sydney
Australia

and claimed to have been sent 17 December 1924. Funnily enough, the menu had prices in pounds using decimals, too (UK went decimal in 1971) so I was a bit skeptical about the authenticity of this part of the message  ;)

Anyway, I'd like to play a wee joke on the senders of this message (the other address was from a village not far from the beach) so are there any volunteers in Australias willing to contribute the cost of a stamp and a postcard to reply to te other address? If so, please PM me and I'll PM back the address to send the postcard to.

Thanks!

General Discussion / Re: Spid0rman 2
Tue 20/07/2004 14:14:38
I thought Spidey 2 was much better than the first one. However, I have one message for Sam Raimi:

Spoiler

Please get the son to get a new green goblin mask made at the beginning of Spidey 3. The one if Spidey 1 and in Spidey 2 just looks SILLY. Not scary, not sinister, not anything except silly silly. That stupid mask spoiled the whole first movie for me.

The main reason I asked the question in my last post is because I find it arrogant and hypocritical for people to accuse other people of being irrational/worshiping false gods etc (which has been done in this very thread), when they themselves are completely unable to justify their belief when pushed about the issue.

So basically you beleive that people should be allowed to believe anything except that other people are wrong? I always find that people who complain about having beliefs pushed down their throat have this beleif themselves and they like to push it down the throat of Christians, Muslims, etc.

By the way, this is me consulting with my new background artist:

All the best for this, Minimi. Don't let go of your adventure-game creativity, as it's obviously one of the gifts God has given you!

AGS: The Next Generation!

Yay! Take advantage of being in a war zone, as it will seem like peace when you get home!

Remember:

Having kids means you will have no life, sleep or privacy for a very long time BUT i'ts still worth it. Even if you're not sure it will be beforehand.

PaulSC, ditto try and prove there isn't a god. You can't prove it either way. If someone did PROVE it then all religions would just disappear. It's not about proof, don't you get it.

However, there is still such a thing as evidence. I can cite as evidence that God answered my prayer on such-and-such a thing. You may belive that that is just a coincidence, or I'm lying, or whatever, but it's still evidence.  The dictioanry says enidevce is "Something indicative; an outward sign". It doesn't mean it is proof. Don't get the two confused.

NB my point is linguistic rathern than relgious, here

You see how much things improve when certain people are banned? boyd never had any classic comedy like these two...

Have you changed the global variables that affect how big the screenshot that is saved is? Default is 1/4 of screen size, so if you only display them at 1/8th, you can save a lot...
#4176
Becuase dialogs only start after the rest of the script has been run: it's in the manual. You'll need to use run-script in your dialog to get the effect you want, probably. Or you could check the globalint in repeatedly_execute.

Unhelpfully under the "Tutorials" section on the AGS main site:

Radiant's AGS font editor

Is this in the beginner's FAQ? Not that I can find... Terran!!!!!! Get to work.

To all the God-bashers out there. There is NO SUCH THING as FACT! It is all beliefs.
Is that a fact?

No. Proves my point quite nicely, doesn't it? :)
I don't BELIEVE so.

Anyway, does this mean that we should set all the convicted people free since their convictions are just based on someone's beleifs, rather than facts?
Of course not. In practical terms, this philosophy is useless. When my daughter was just born, I don't think that she created the belief that her mother existed just to organsie reality into a system. Or maybe that expression on her face wasn't wind but rather existential angst?

I think Os' banning was part of the "cleanup" of #ags by scotch and AGA. Boyd was a casualty, too. Kinda like "ethnic cleansing", but maybe more "arsenic cleansing"....  8)

In the UK we have a thing called the "Direct Debit Guarantee" which controls how compnaies are allowed to take money from your account. If they break it, the bank has to give you the money back, even if they can't get the money from the company...
