Hang on, I thought you were saying that the Bug was that if you had an Any Click interactiuon on your hotspot then that got called instead of unhandled_event when you clicked with cursor mode 8.

But now you seem to be saying that unhandled_event is being called when you click with any click on the hotspot, if you have an any click interaction...

Can you explain exactly what does and doesn't happen when, again, please?

Of course, the self-selecting nature of replies to this thread might bias the results of the survey in favour of higher-end machines as people with powerful PCs are maybe more liekly to want to brag about them?  ;D

In which case, to offset this, I'll add the most rubbsih PC I own:

Pentium 120, No idea, 16Mb RAM, Windows 95, no, no

or if you'd consider other platforms:

Spectrum (4Mhz Z80 processor), Specc GFX, 48K RAM, Spectrum BASIC, no, no

Actually, that "all Any Click events do not trigger this function" bit in the manual is a bit unclear as to what it means. However, it seems "natural" to me that if you have an interaction that is triggered on any click then any click will go to that interaction and not to unhandled_event. I mean why not just put an "else" in your Any Click code to call RandomMessage?

In fact, it seems that the help file isn't entirely clear as to whether "Any Click" means any click or any other click (ie not one of the otehr interactions). It says that for hotspots it means any click: so" look" will trigger both "look" and "any click" interactions, but for characters and inventory is seems to mean "other" clicks, not inlcuding the otehr interactions. Inconsistent, at least...!

A lot of what people have said is true for me too. My life sucked at school. My parents were supportive but I had few freinds in school and none really after school finished. At University it got so much better, and then I realised exactly what I wanted to do for a job and now I am doing it. So I have a job that I enjoy mostly, and a wfie who I love and the most incredible daughter in the world. I never would have imagined these things at 15 when I felt really really rubbish.

Myself, I never was very good at studying. At school things either clicked (ie maths, physics, chemistry) or didn't (ie sport!) and I got straight As in my highers without a great deal of study really. You can't get away with that so much at University, but then you are doing something you are more interested in: still, I ended up with an upper second class degree: I could have had a first if I tried a bit harder.

I'd say try and study as much as you can, becuase getting to Uni could well make everything much better!

Well, the intro ROCKS! Love it! But if you're looking for criticsim...

1. The walkcyclle fo Zale looks like he is repeatedly kicking his front foot with his back foot

2. When he keeps looking back and forth at the elephant poo in the intro, diagonal views would REALLY have been great there.,

Of course, it make my own game suck by comparison in every compartment (and yours has the added advantage of being finished, too) but you obviously are a talented artists, so a little extra artwork...

Anyway, now to explore this other dimension...

Although, considering that I went to Uni at 16 and graduated at 20, I maybe learned about it younger than AGA or sbennett anyways  :P

[rhetorical moan]Tell me: why does PCI express L1 mode have a Transaction layer NAK but a DataLink layer ACK? Is that messed up or what?[/rhetorical moan]

Flopping egg, they teach the OSI model in high school these days? I learned that in University... but then they didn't have Computer Studies at all when I was at school.

And now I'm working on a PCI Express Transport Layer ...

Maybe not what you want, but it might give some hints!

People quite often lie about these things, Men usually increase the number

You mean like your ambiguous answer, which could be anywhere from 1 to 5? ;)

Or 1 to 31 if he uses binary...

I really respect that DG doesn't post things to try and get respect  ;)

Sorry to interrupt the Farlander/DG love-in, but I noticed two mistakes in Farlander's English that my wife often makes:

Discuss does not really imply a difference of opinion, see the bit under Synonyms here: http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=discuss

Also, it's intimacy, not intimity

I'm just trying to help you improve your English, Nacho, not attack you, btw!

Anyway, back to the topic:

The first book that really upset me on an emotional level was "Jeffy, the Burglar's Cat" when I was about 7. My poor mum had to stay up all night with me as I read it as I couldn't sleep until I knew what happened at the end (as my mum never tires of telling people these days  ::) ). Jeffy's master is a kleptomaniac and tries to stop himself but can't, with devestating consequences for Jeffy.

And recently I saw  Forrest Gump again and welled up at the end there too. Wuss city! And at the beginning of Finding Nemo, too, but then with a wife and child that I am always worried are OK, I think that's a bit more understandable.

In fact, these days, I get upset at nearly any movie in which something happens to a wife or child. Funnily enough, the Stallone movie DeTox really upset me, at his powerlessness to stop the killer drilling a hole through his wife's head. I didn't see any of the movie after that.

Dunno why Magintz pointed you at someone who has never posted here, but you could try this link to send him an IM:

Why not have a go at drawing some yourself?  Check out the Critic's Lounge for tutorials on drawing and once you have had a go, post your sprites there for advice (but read that forum's rules first, of course  ;) )

I welled up this morning hearing a poem on BBC Radio 4 about a vet who was having to deliver and then kill 40 newborn lambs during the foot-and-mouth epedemic of 2001. Didn't cry, but then I was driving so it would have been a bad idea.

Hey!
What you have said is reasonable, and I guess I could be a bit more careful where I post my topics, the reason I posted it in there was because I thought advanced AGS users would read that subject to help other more inexperienced AGS users.
I do apoligize to scummbuddy, I was in a bad mood, and he isnt the only one, so I regret wat I posted.

Sorry to anyone I annoyed, and thank you to SSH who showed me how rude I was being.

P.S. If anyone knows where i can contact zuchinni, it would be cool, cause someone said he could help me out! ;D

Well, that is a good reply Axel. I respect someone who knows when they made a mistake and tries to make amends. The "Technical" forums are for questions about using the AGS program only, rather than forum or any other questions. It's hard to summarise the rules of any forums in one line, which is why there are separate rules threads. But I've made that mistake myself when I was starting. Ususally the easiest way to work it all out is to see the threads that other people post for a week or two and see where they put them.

Of course, if you read:

http://www.agsforums.com/yabb/index.php?board=4;action=display;threadid=3584

you'd have know that already without wasting people's time by asking a question that has been asked a million times already

EDIT:
I see that you've just apologised in another thread, so ... RESPECT! ... but don't do it again or we'll hunt you down like a dog.  ;)

That sprite rocks so much that we'll forgive you for not meeting the "two backgrounds" rule...  ;D

Glad to see a new good artist starting to create games with AGS... please give me a shout (or maybe I'll see you in one of the tech forums) if you need any help with scripting.

This doesnt have anything to do with the forum,

You have answered you own question, maybe?

And as a point of fact, you ARE being rude. You are assuming that your time (ie the time it takes for you to read the rules) is more valuable than the time of the people who have to read you inappropriately placed posts.

Anyway... the basic problem is that THE WORLD DOES NOT REVOLVE AROUND YOU. Be considerate to other people who maybe don't want to hear about your Samurai game but have because you posted about it in the wrong place.

Do you think that the people who read a particular forum, called, for example "Beginner's Technical Questions" want to hear someone wining about another forum member? No... they are either new people looking for help (which Scummbuddy often supplies in abundance). Or they are more experienced people who like helping out those lookign for help. Its fine to complain about other members you don't like, but there is a forum called General Discussion for that. Ditto with your other inappropriate posts. Did the forum registration test make no impression on you at all? The rules are there to make life for everyone who uses the AGS boards more pleasant... if you don't like them then don't post here.

On the other hand, your game idea looks interesting and I hope that you can make a good game out of it. Lots of people go a bit nuts with posting in their first day (20 posts in under 9 hours, Axel!)  or week or month, but if you calm down and stick to the rules a bit better then we'll gladly help you reach your first game release. Our moderators in general are pretty good at not holding grudges, but I'd advise you to apologise to Scummbuddy: he doesn't deserve this attack!

My number is 3 (including my current girlfriend).  For some reason, my girlfriend thinks that numbers too high and gets angry at me for the other two women I've slept with in my life (even though her number is more than twice mine, some of the guys she wasn't even dating... now that makes ME mad...).
But my wife gets jealous and angry that I kissed and held hands with some other girls when I was a teenager. Imagine if I'd done anything more! But then I was the first guy she ever kissed...

No

For details of the AGS licence, I refer you to http://www.agsforums.com/acfaq.htm question 4. It actually took me a bit of finding, as this isn't in the Help file, except as an oblique reference!
