Have you got the Game Option "Handle Inventory clicks in script" option set? Are you using LEFTINV, RIGHTINV instead of LEFT/RIGHT for button matching?
#4924
Do you mean right-clicks on the inventory, or something like that? I have been thinking about doing a BS style GUI myself. The dialogs are too much work at the moment, but the rest aint too bad.

Are are you looking for the interface_click function or RunInventoryInteration, or what?

Barcik: that would be fine, although a more sophisticated set of search options should go with it
Jannar: There are hardly any AGS games there, and Chris Jones's credits are more than we ever imagined. I didn't kno wthat he played Tex Murphy!

Subject: Most Lollable name of the week competition
TIME: 31 OCTOBER - THE END OF NOVEMBER
So you'd better save them for next month *

I think you need to name a monthly competition better than "name of the week".

Was it a Truetype or SCI font that the problem was with? I had the feeling that the auto-outline was only meant for TTF, but I couldn't find any info to back that up...

This kind of thing often happens if somethign corrupts your soundcard driver. Check those old games again to make sure they still work! Try re-installing the drivers, anyway.

I never played LSL at all in its original versions, but I did recently beta test Timosity's LSL3 remake and helped a bit with the mirror scripting. Now, apart from the fact that it doesn't paly too well in Windowed mode rather than full-screen, I really didn't enjoy the game a great deal. I don't want to take anything away from Timosity's hard work becuase it appaears to have been a great effort and I admire the scripting and everything that has gone in to it, but I'm sorry I just didn't like the game much! It wasn't funny or titilating or engrossing or absorbing for me.

So I doubt that I'll buy a commerical one.

On the other hand, I prefer Phantasmagoria 2 to Syberia, so what do I know?

When looking for help, advice or just knowing who's done what we can currently find out who was in charge of a game's production, but unless you load every game reach the end to get the credits it can be quite hard to find out who has helped with what.

What do people think of starting a credits database so that for each game you can find out all who contributed, and also so that for each person you have some idea of how much they have contributed to games and who is worth tapping for help on music/anim/scripting, etc.

Maybe its a silly idea, but I was just looking at the IMDB, with its lists of everyoe in the credits and envisaged somethign similar. However, I don't have a host or mySQL to offer, so someone else would have to pick up the project and run with it.

Dunno how many people actually replyto requests in this thread these days, but if anyone can help me just to get some walkcycles on my characters (click on banner in my sig to go to my game thread to see the character, plot, etc.) then I'd very much appreciate it.

I'd  be glad to do some scripting or puzzle design or something in return...

PM me please...

It's especially good for all the projectless AGSers who want to use some of their creative energies.

Well, they could always do some graphics and animation for my game instead...  ;D

You have to be using 2.57beta2 to have this feature. Download it from the top thread in the Tech Forum (first post).

Competitions & Activities / Re:OCTOBER MAGS
Thu 30/10/2003 11:53:06
Maybe PureGhost could consider for next month's MAGS a game where famous battles between people are resolved peacefully and they kiss-and-make-up: e.g. Foz and Vel, DG and Yahtzee, Bush and Saddam, etc.
;D ;D ;D ;D

The guy then goes on the crows nest reviews bit and completely and unecessarily slags both my games......all of a sudden FB-goes from his original score 65% to 1/5 and a very bad unplayable game.....

I did`nt do that to him i gave my honest opinion on he`s games and said what i thought would improve them......

So from my side the bitching will stop.............the guys not worth bothing with.

Ummm... I just checked out crows nest and you did exactly the same back to Vel, so your moral high ground is a bit shaky...

Come on guys, can't you sort it out? It's only the internet, life's too short, etc. etc.

They can sign all the papers you want, but that doesn't necessarily make the organisers any less responsible in the eyes of the law. And as to a 30-y-o shooting an arrow in to the foot, make sure that all arrows have a disclaimer such as:

"Not to be inserted into body parts"

or they'll still sue your pants off

We had a meeting  at work about health & safety law. In the UK, if you are senior to anyone, you can be criminally liable for anything bad that happens to them, even if its their own stupid fault. This is adults, remember. Not to mention your own and the company's civil liability.

For example, a woman who frequenty used the power-guillotine to chop paper was fed up with the safety buttons that she had to press which ensuredher hands were out of the way when it operated. So she went to the supply cupboard, got some glue and glued them on. After a while, she was a bit careless and lost a thumb or two. She sued the company and got a hefty payout.

so, it's maybe tough for the young-uns not to get a first-hand encounter with a semi-deity-onion-ring-eater, but the risks aint worth it!

Maybe we could have a "Superstars" competition, loike the TV show (in case this is just a UK thing, Superstars takes athletes from various different sports and makes them compete in various events, kind of like a decathlon but with more variety than just track-and-field)

So, there would be various events:

Music
Plot
Scripting
Backgrounds
Characters
Dialogs

and then the best overall would win... oh hang on, this is MAGS, isn't it!

OK, OK, How about an AGS olympics, with teams from different countries, and all the Americans have to take THG, and...
