Yes, thats what I need. There are three hard parts though.
1)The shadow does not belong to the player character, so the player stands on region event doesn't work
You need to modify the code inside the while loop to have:
if (character[ABBAT].x<FIRSTAREAx) {
  view=whatever;
} else if (character[ABBAT].x<SECONDAREAx) {
  view=whatever2;
} etc. etc. etc.

this is easyush because you're only moving in 1 dimension

2)movement on the wall:shadow movement on the ground=1:2

Use the multiplication operator?

Quote
3)changing shadow views while the character is behind the stone slabs.
see answer to number 1

EDIT: By the way, shouldn't the existing shadow of the wall have a gap corressponding to the archway?

Is it actually a dialog, or just a bunch of talking? I mean, could you just use a bunch of messages or displayspeech to do the dialog, or do you need the user to decide on dialog options?

Serves me right for only checking the "latest posts" and not reading the whole thread. Apologies to anyone upset by this!

Oh well, if it's a moon then the second one. Still love the style.

Given that the sun is so big, the first pic has to be the one... the second one is waaay too dark.

Is it just me or does that palm tree look like a character from Dragonball?

Love the style... it would be great to see a whole game with this style!

I've heard that pretending that you're gay and that you need a "real" women to convert you to being het. works well... never tried it myself.

Or you could say that you fell into a vat of viagra when you has a summer job in the factory and haven't been able to get it down since...

Or just lick your eyebrows

Surely a digital clock would just go blank if it fell off a wall and broke?

Wearing a kilt is guaranteed to get the girls trying to think of chat-up lines for you, rather than the other way around. They always seem to want to know if you're a "true Scot". Some even try and find out while I'm standing there with my arm around my wife's shoulders!

Tell them that you've got VD...

(from http://www.psy.mq.edu.au/328/WilliamsDolnik.pdf):
In her honors thesis, Kathy
Zablocki (1996) looked at the effectiveness of stealing thunder on the early stages of
dating. She was interested in whether males who were waiting for an experiment
along with an attractive female (who was actually an experimental confederate)
would agree to join her for coffee after the experiment. From other research
indicating that males are quite willing to agree to female pick-up lines (Clark &
Hatfield, 1989) the answer to this question would seem to be fairly obvious. But there
was a catch. In two of the three conditions, the males found out that she had genital
herpes. While waiting for the experiment to begin, the attractive female chatted
pleasantly with the unsuspecting male. During this 5-minute interchange, the males
were exposed either to no information regarding the herpes (no thunder), witnessed
a prescription for genital herpes with a pamphlet about the disease fall out of her
5
purse as she left for the restroom (thunder), or prior to witnessing the purse?s
contents spill, were told by the female that she had herpes (stealing thunder). After
she returned, she asked the male to join her for coffee, and recorded his response.
In the no thunder condition, 60% of the males agreed to join her for coffee.
When they saw the herpes-related contents spill out of her purse, only 50% agreed.
But, when she stole thunder by telling them about her herpes prior to the contents
spilling, 70% agreed to join her.

It's like "From a distance" and "Imagine"'s deformed love-child!

Do you think that the megalomania was a George Bush reference? I think that sending him into space would have been a good idea...

Well, you can get a free PalmOS emulator at
http://www.palmos.com

Of course, not having directX must be a little complication  ;D

Shall we all save up and get CJ a Sony Clie?

i just had to answer this ;)

you know that they know what theyre going to say long before that day right?

Of course, but the typist obviously wasn't informed and Terry Wogan's comments aren't scripted.

Heh yeah, the winning song was a complete copy of Kiss Kiss, I'm surprised they got away with it.

Actually, both were written by Sezen Aksu:

I thought that song was about some dodgy beer... The 80/- 's coming back... (80 shilling is a strength of beer, by the way).

Here's those Austrian lyrics for those who missed it:

well, most brits watch it for the sarcy comments of mr Wogan, our commentator
Of course, you have to watch it with subtitles, too. Live subtitiles are hilarious as you watch the poor typist trying to keep up with the two presenters making Sam Fox and Mick Fleetwood look slick and professional  PLUS Terry Wogan's ironic comments over the top.

The song lyrics are translated for you and obviously pre-programmed: however, you can see that the performers sometimes forget the words or sing them in the wrong order!

I thought that the Portugese entry was the best, but it seems that no-one else did.

Apparently the Turkish entry that one Eurovision was written by one of the co-writer's of Holly Vallance's Kiss Kiss... which is maybe why it sounded similar and why it won. That and the belly dancing.

Apparently, the British entry was written by a bagpipe being mauled by a stray cat, which is why it got "nil pwa".

Apparently the Austrian entry was about Fluffy bunnies, cats and African Dromedaries. It came 4th I think.

Ah well, at least Terry Wogan was on form...

I did like the twist at the end, sets things up well for the final film - is it, as you say, that Zion and the 'real world' are in fact part of the matrix too, or are they really on the outside? We shall see.

But this has been done before by Existenz and the 13th floor, how unoriginal. Of course, no one can ever really tell that they are in a "Matrix" unless the Matrix or someone outside the Matrix wants them to... go and read Jostein Gaardner's Sophie's World
