Pffff, not another spoof forum member. I bet it's really DGMacphee in disguise.

My Dell had a broken DVDRW drive (it could read/write CDs OK but couldn't do DVDs at all) which their (hardware-only!) tech support diagnosed and sorted out very quickly. Because I was comfortable fitting the replacement myself, it all went swimmingly.

SSH: If you still know how to get the voucher, it's £36 off... a big case of beers for me... and lots of kisses for you! ;D

Try here. My comp was more expensive and some of them have minimum purchase prices...:

I'm sure I found a voucher code online somewhere that gives you 10% off @ Dell. My Inspiron 1710 is fine, although I did need to fiddle with drivers a bit to get the Wifi working well in Vista. Not sure if Dell, wireless card, router or Vista was to blame, though...

I could assist in writing entries to your blog about AGS forums and not only if you want me to SSH..

With writing like that, how can I refuse ;)

Spoiler

Mods sometimes I can't get your humour... must be me. That's my 1182 post. 2.124 per day. So who can beat my per day score?

Lots of people if you take "beat" as "have a lower number than" ;)

I've been working with the DrawLine function lately and it might not be the best thing to use, the most irritating thing is that it draws to the background so it lays behind all objects and characters regardless of what you do.

Unless you use it on a DrawingSurface of a Dynamic Sprite which can be placed on an overlay, GUI, objects, character, etc...

Perhaps a mouseover for a few seconds of a sprite in the sprite viewer could show it actual-size as a tooltip?

Code: ags

if (Game.TranslationFilename == "English2") {
  Display("You are using the English translation.");
}

#993
It would be nice if the Menu screen and the plot summary in the book on starting a new game were also translated (by creating new images and replacing them if the english translation is detected?)

Try NormalGraphic...

I think most people like this though:

Spoiler

The bit with the Fedora right at the end

I agree with you about Mac, and the interrogation, ildu.

New movies always shoot up into the top 100 on IMDB then find their correct position later.

yes, I thought that was odd too. Also like the scene in The Mummy where the treacherous sidekick gets wasted for tarrying too long in the treasure room...

Spoiler

Yeah, I noticed that about Cate, too.

Couple other things:

Whole underground machinery triggered by ancient mechanism then running down disappearing steps seemed somewhat "National Treasure"

and when Indy and Mac had their guns pointed at Cate in the hangar at the beginning, he called her Dr Spalko, but didn't later on at his FBI interrogation didn't know who she was...

Another thing that would be handy:

Bad:

Spoiler

The whole ants thing reminded me of the scarabs in The Mummy

The whole psychic abilities of the skull seemed entirely unnecessary and reminded me of Independence Day. Why does Lucas feel the need to add in unnecesary mumbo jumbo that makes it harder to suspend disbelief, like Midichlorians?

Storming the hangar at the beginning reminded me of The Rock

Loads of other unnecessary stuff

Good:

Spoiler

Harrison, Shia, Cate

What's wrong with aliens? Is it any more fantastic than the effect of Ark or the Grail?

Waterfalls

Getting down to the river

Atomic bomb

Relentless action

Chase scenes

One problem I had was for the first 20 minutes I kept noticing when Indy was kept out of shot or in the dark so as they could use a stunt double. I mean, even for a punch! I stopped noticing later on, though, so I think this was just me. Don't try and enjoy AND deconstruct at the same time!
