Thanks for letting me know about the dodgy co-ordinate thing, I will try to fix it tomorrow & re-upload the game. Also, cheers for the feedback about the GUI, I'll make sure I take it into consideration for the next game I make :)

J. Stanson is a multi award winning horror novelist, known around the globe for his prowess in weaving tales of misery and woe. But one fateful evening his role is transformed from narrator of the terrifying, to subject of it, as he and his fellow authors are thrust into a nightmare situation of their very own. Will you survive the night to tell the tale, or is this the end of Stanson's story?

Quote from: NickyNyceLooks good, anything with someone hanging upside down from the ceiling gets my interest. How many rooms are there? , any music ( not totally necessary) ? , mind bending puzzles?  Can you die ?

Thanks for your interest :)

Theres about 12 rooms in all, I'd say the game is probably 30-45 mins in length, depending on how quick you work the puzzles out, of which there are quite a few pretty interesting ones. There are several opportunities to pop your clogs in the game.

Hi all,

Myself and a friend are currently in the process of making a light hearted adventure game and we are a bit stuck for an animator

We are ok for all other roles and are just need someone to do character and world animations.

The games script is done and we are ready to start putting everything together.

If anyone is interested in helping us out please send me a PM!

Here are a couple of screen shots of backgrounds we have so far -

Thanks!

In case any of you were still wondering, this game has been dropped, it wasn't really going anywhere... I have another game in the pipe line atm though; which is getting on at a fair pace - hopefully there will be a production thread about that soon

QuoteWhen I travel through time, will I get to go back and forth, back and forth, back and forth, that's right, side to side?
You certaintly will ;)
Quotei don`t liked the RPG thing, but liked the game!
Fear not, currently there are only 3 or 4 of these battles in the game, its not a constant rpg random battlefest.
Quotebut somehow, his eyepatch seems to have switched sides since SciFiCon 82...
Yeah; thats a little ingame joke  :P (entirley intentional, definatley not me being stupid, drawing the background wrong, and then turning it into a joke)

Critics' Lounge / Re: Background c&c

Yeah the main character is a nerdy scientist sort of guy :P I drew the computer screen myself rather than taking it from clip art, its based on a BBC Micro. I've taken all further suggestions for improvements into account and will continue to improve the background accordingly. Thanks for all your suggestions, they have been really helpful and should also be useful to keep in mind when drawing my other backgrounds :)

I did a bit of editing tonight and tried to do most of the things people had commented on, heres the updated version.

I hope I've done what you asked correctly, sorry if the perspective is still off, I've never been too good at getting that right  :-\

Thanks for your suggestions too Apocalyptic, I will try to add those in tomorrow.

Hi, I was hoping for some feedback on a background I've been working on for my new game. Suggestions on how to improve it would be greatly appreciated :)

Thanks

Thanks for your suggestions, I'll be sure to take them into account whilst making my new game. I'll also correct the spelling mistakes and re upload the file.
#18
Hmm, that issues a new one on me. I'll look into it but it might just be a random glitch.
#19
The file download should be working fine, it might just have been temporaraly down.

Thanks very much for your constructive critisms, I'll be sure to keep them in mind while I'm making my next game.  As for the bit of metal at the end, I wanted it to show the characters anger that everyone he had met in the house had tried to kill him, I did have a few bits of other music I had tried to use for that ending but none of them really fit. I also wanted it to really contrast the music I used in the alternate ending, I can understand what you are saying though. I'll also think on what you said about my story telling and try to improve before my next game is released. Thanks again for telling me your thoughts on the game. Hopefully it'll help me improve  :)
