The voting is over and we have a Winner:

Black Friday by Danvzare.

Well done, Dan. You will be messaged in Due course about coming up with a topic for January.

Unlucky to Nr 2698 for your close 2nd. You could call it a Nr miss.

Thanks to everyone else who participated. Great numbers this month. Let's keep it up.

Scarecrow and his Quest to Find a Brain by Slasher

Black Friday by Danvzare

Blooded Fields by Nr. 2698

The Strawman Augment by Durinde

STRAWMAN  BOMBING  DISPOSAL by Mandle

Sniper and spotter climbing a tower by Blondbraid

The Wicked Witch of the West by Cleanic

Topic: Scarecrows
Suggested by: Slasher and Kastchey
Deadline: November 30th

The challenge for this month is to make a game featuring a scarecrow in any form or role.
Regardless of the above picture, your scarecrow can, but does not have to be spooky! Feel free to pick the setting that best suits your game idea.

Using pre-made assets is fine.
Don't know where to find free assets? Try AGS Trove!

What is MAGS?

Started in 2001, MAGS is a competition for amateur adventure game makers. The idea is to create a game in under a month, following the rules set by the previous winner. It aims to help you work to a deadline, improve your skills, and provide a kick-start into making adventure games. Regardless of skill, MAGS is for everyone. Voting is based on "favorite" games, and not the most artistic, or the best coded. If you have bad art skills, use it as a chance to do some graphic work. If you're sub-standard at coding, use it as a chance to give scripting a go. Ultimately, people will vote for the most enjoyable entry.

Rules

Entering MAGS is simple. First, conceptualise your game following the month's criteria (see top). Second, create your game fueled only by coffee. Finally, post your game in this thread, including:

* A working download link
* The title of your game
* A suitable in-game screenshot

At the end of the month, voting will begin, usually lasting for fourteen days. The winner chooses the next month's theme, and their name and game is immortalised in the MAGS Archive. For more information, please visit the Official MAGS website.

A little more than half a day to go.

Also if Slasher or Kastchey read this. I need your November theme by tomorrow too.

I'm not entirely convinced. The people who spend that kind of money on sneakers, they generally want to be seen wearing them.

I wouldn't even pay $200. Not for something whose literal purpose is to be repeatedly pumped into a filthy pavement on a daily basis.

This sounds like the work of someone having a bit of a tidy up and not thinking straight. I doubt it was at all malicious. At the very least mods should discuss this kind of thing with each other (in which case they no doubt would have concluded it's better to give Peder the heads-up after all).

What Grinds My Gears (GMG) is when people use an expression and then put the acronym of that expression in brackets after it but then never refer to that thing again for the rest of the text.

I hadn't heard of it until everyone on my Twitter feed suddenly went into mass orgasm about it a few days ago. I'll certainly give it a go.

Voting is over and we have a tie!
Congrats to Kastchey and Slasher. You'll be contacted soon about choosing a topic for November.
Commiserations VampireWombat.
Thanks to all entrants and voters.

That ‘making-of' gif is great. It really shows your thought processes.

Hank, did this payment between Mr Green and Madame Sky happen recently? Nod once if you saw it happen tonight, twice for within the last few weeks or shake your head if longer ago than that.

I try to squeeze in “You crack me up little buddy” whenever I can.

Hank, are you saying that you saw Madame Sky paying Mr Green? Or are you trying to tell us something else? Nod for yes, you saw payment, or shake your head for something else.

Hank Fellowes

// Nods in affirmation

Hank Fellowes

// shakes head

// repeats same series of gestures as before, this time taking a coin out of his pocket to represent money, and gesturing its movement from Madame Sky to Benny Green. All the time, pointing at his own eyes.

Hank Felllowes

“Erghm”

//points at his own eyes.
//points at Madame Sky.
//does the universal gesture for ‘money' with his fingers.
//gestures the money ‘moving' from Madame Sky to Benny Green.

I never cared much for Disney anyway but I agree it's rather pointless to remake all their old back-catalogue in live action. I guess they don't have to pay any writers.

One Disney film I did like was Aladdin. I know they're remaking that, too. I'll definitely be interested to see how they do it but I won't be rushing out to watch it on the first night.

For me the word limit is arbitrary. Whether it's 80 or 100 or 50, you would always wish a few more words to really explain your idea.
#1639
No one's guessing, so here is the list of authors with their entries:

tzachs   FALL FLAT
Snarky   N00b
Cassiebsg   Homo-Sapiens
Bulbapuck   Town of nightmares
nihilyst   Chekhov's Balance
Mandle   A Break From Reality
TheFrighter   Happy Scrappy Hero Pup
Blondbraid   The other paperclip
Durinde   Found Footage

Well done Durinde. A deserved win.

Found Footage was not mine.
None of them are mine as I didn't enter.
I'll give it another day or two before revealing the who's who.
