They are clinging on to their own moronity like it’s a badge of honor. They’ve had over 4 years to learn some basic internet literacy and they still go along with this shit.

I almost have a bit of respect for the actual folks behind QAnon. It must be quite funny to come up with this bullshit and watch it spread. Nothing they can come up with is even questioned by these believers. And yet they have the audacity to call the rest of us ‘sheep’ unironically for not buying into it.

I've posted similar corrections as comments on the game page. Should they rather be posted here?
There is actually something you can click on on the games’ page to report broken links.

So glad to see this released. It’s such a cute game. Congratulations and best of luck 🤞

I have a vague memory of a short game based on the UK houses of parliament... but I forget its name.

This was Prime Minister’s Questions: The Game by Mark Billy

Must be a new #Sharpiegate. I remember #Sharpiegate as being when Trump randomly decided Hurricane Dorian was going to destroy Alabama even though none of the weather agencies said that, so he took matters into his own hands.

Yeah, slasher is fully Q-pilled ;) (don't know, just guessing, and all I said was that Trump is an unwitting fascist)

Here's the best take I've seen so far: https://twitter.com/ppredictors/status/1323862826495168513
It's also the only one I've seen since I woke up 10 minutes ago.
Trump tried exactly this. I think he intended to come out and say "I've won the election" but he ended up saying "As far as I'm concerned, we won." which leaves wiggle room for him to deny that he actually "claimed" victory. He bottled it (which I'm glad about, but he might try again more assertively next time).

Also, I saw this the other day on a Discord channel. Seems relevant to this thread.

‘Terrifying Tales from Kodansha’ Humble Bundle

The only one that looks interesting to me is Dissolving Classroom by Junji Ito. Maybe I should try to read something from this author. Is it difficult Japanese? I don't like to read translations.

The Japanese was a little difficult for me (because I suck) but I tend not to worry too much about that. Just process what I can and only look up a word if it keeps coming up and seems important. I don't read much manga but when I do, I prefer stuff with furigana, so at least there's a chance I can understand the word even if I can't read the kanji.

That’s a cool idea. Must’ve been really fun for the kids.

Create a game featuring rain and/or snow as a mechanic, story point, or graphical element. Characters could be caught out in a storm, or they could be suffering from a drought and longing for some rainfall, or you could even play AS the falling snow in some fashion. As long as water falling from the sky in some way, shape, or form is important to the game, then it counts!

Use of existing graphics, music, and sound effects is allowed.

What is MAGS?
Started in 2001, MAGS is a competition for amateur adventure game makers. The idea is to create a game in under a month, following the guidelines set by the previous winner. It aims to help you work to a deadline, improve your skills, and provide a kick-start into making adventure games. Regardless of skill, MAGS is for everyone. Voting is based on "favourite" games, and not the most artistic, or the best coded. If you have bad art skills, use it as a chance to do some graphic work. If you're sub-standard at coding, use it as a chance to give scripting a go. Ultimately, people will vote for the most enjoyable entry.

Rules
Entering MAGS is simple. First, conceptualize your game following the month's criteria (see above). Second, create your game fuelled only by coffee. Finally, post your game in this thread, including:

* A working download link
* The title of your game
* A suitable in-game screenshot

At the end of the month, voting will begin, usually lasting for fourteen days, and the winner chooses the next month's theme.

Remember that this is a challenge to see what you can do in a month, so any tinkering you do after that, including fixing minor glitches, is against the spirit of the competition. The exception to this is that you may go in and fix major, game-breaking bugs only during voting. We want you to have a game that voters can actually play and that runs on their machines.

So to reiterate, during the voting period fixing major, game-breaking bugs is okay, fixing minor glitches or making cosmetic changes is cheating.

Tips
Here are some ways to make sure you have a game to submit at the end of the month:
* Make a tiny game. Plan small, then cut it in half. Find shortcuts (e.g. if making walkcycles is time-consuming, make the characters static or have it in the first person).
* Plan to have your game playable and submittable with a week to spare. This way you have a week to fix bugs, add some flourishes and maybe even get someone to test it.
* Plan to submit it a day or so early. This way, if there are any technical issues with uploading, they can be sorted out in time.

Need a little help with graphics? Perhaps The AGS Trove has something you can use.
Don't want to go it alone? Try the Recruitment board.

Thanks for the entries, folks. How are you getting on PlayPretend? I’ll be putting up The voting shortly.

Hmm. Works fine for me. Nevertheless try deleting everything after (and including) the question mark. That’s all just unnecessary guff.

I read a fair few ‘truly scary stories’ and ‘scary urban legends’ type manga that I find cheaply in convenience stores and second hand book shops. It’s hard to get genuinely ‘scared’ by a comic (especially since my Japanese sucks) but some of those stories are pretty creepy. I’ll upload some pictures when I get home.

@KyriakosCH - Junji Ito is great. I haven’t read a ton of his stuff but I love his style. And yeah the stories are weird as hell but I love that. I requested a Junji Ito book for Xmas but my wife said ‘you don’t need that’. We’ll see.

Do we have up til the end of the night on 10/31?

The deadline is until November 1st crosses over, AGS server time, usually.
The deadline is officially 23:59 UK time, whether that be BST or GMT. But you can upload later than that as long as I haven’t officially closed the contest and drawn up the polls.

I’ll say it now. This Sunday morning is the best window for me to rig up the voting etc. so I’ll be reluctant to grant an extension (in case anyone was counting on one). So now you should be thinking about tying things up.

If my guess had ben wrong my next guess was going to be:

Under the dumpster.

(For any Walking Dead fans here)

People keep talking in terms of minutes but I think you just need two or three rooms to show off the artwork, one or two puzzles to sample the gameplay, a bit of dialogue to show off the writing and hopefully a nice bit of music, an animation or two for a bit of flourish and a cliffhanger. Don’t worry how long that takes the player to finish.

@Re: Mandle’s riddle. I think I’ve got it.

Nice one Helton. It’d be nice to see more cups in the database.
