WELL! :D Looks like there's a boardgame café a 10 min subway ride from Finch station!

Babar, maybe you could ask your host about a good meeting point, and we'll just have to get there......?
#3
So we need some mix where it's not difficult for everyone to get to, especially Babar who will have some investigating to do.

I mean malls come to mind, and that would work if we're looking to do a dinner-ish thing, but.....

Yeahh.. we haven't even defined a place. Any ideas?

I don't believe either Catpunter or Ryan have confirmed though. :s

....Anybody?

So.... it's Friday, who's in for next week? I'm cool any day of the week, but I can only leave after 6. Miiiight be able to leave earlier but I doubt it. Google maps says I'm about 40 mins away from "Thornhill", calculated from work. But I will be driving, so location is flexible too.

But based on what Ryan said, we are likely looking at Monday or Tuesday?

QuoteBy morning the traffic arteries are practically choked with gravy and squeaky fresh cheese curds.
Well that sounds delicious yet terrifying.

While the *clock* says I can do mornings (I work a split shift), the actual timing of it would be risky since I'd be right in the thick of rush hour traffic into Toronto. Also, Baron, who would even be serving poutine that early? (laugh)

We do have yet to choose a specific date and place, but that can be done once we know who is able to make it. Let's say that we need final numbers by the end of this week?

Hello, moving thread.
It's been quite a long while. I have been disheartened to find that I can no longer locate the actual wafflequest.exe anywhere. But I'm hoping to come across some ideas and get back up to speed with the current ags editor and make something again. The last release I remember is 2-point-something. I've definitely got a lot to learn. It's nice to look around the forums and see not much has changed. :)

Thanks, Gurok! Also, I've had it confirmed that it is indeed a Surface 2. As well, I've contacted head office about the new tablets-- to my great disappointment they've already been ordered and they are "Lenovo". That's all the lady I've been emailing  knows about them. Looks like the x86 emulator is my only option, provided I get "blanket permission" like I've asked for. So far her response is "can you download another waffle that will work on it? The new tablet will have microsoft bits like Word and such." after I said "The program used to create Waffle Quest [which she's seen and played] has been downloaded; the tablet will not accept it as-is". *sigh*(wrong)

(I hope the picture works this time.. :/ Probably not necessary at this point.)

AGS Engine & Editor Releases / Re: AGS 3.3.5

I took a picture of the specs, but for some reason the preview is showing it as a broken image. I'll look at posting it when I'm on break.
So.. what Surface would allow .exe? (On my way to work or I'd investigate it myself ) We are supposed to be getting more Surfaces, maybe I can request an .exe friendly one!

The screen simply says, give or take a few words, "This program cannot be run on this device. Please see the app store for a list of compatible programs." As for the OS, I'll have to get back to you on that as the tablet stays there.

Hey guys, been a super long time! I've got another group of kids who want to make a game, but all we have, computer-wise, is a Windows Surface tablet. But AGS doesn't appear to run on it. Any thoughts/a workaround?

Thanks!

Completed Game Announcements / Waffle Quest I
Mon 29/04/2013 13:57:41
Hooray! It's finished! Download here!

Follow Uruffaw the alien on his adventure to find breakfast after an emergency landing in the front yard of a school.

This is the result of around 2 months' work by me and a small group of mostly-10-year-old-boys at the daycare where I work. The idea came from the fact that two out of three Wednesdays have waffle as the morning snack, which have kind of turned into mini-festivals because all of the kids love waffles so much.

Game is in English by default with Dutch and French* written options.

Huge thanks to Arj0n for his thorough testing and feedback and coding help. Also thanks to selmiak for letting me use a certain sprite :)

*may not be 100% accurate. The kids lost interest part way through so I had to finish it myself. :(

Greetings and whatnot. :)

Is there a way to easily renumber dialog lines for recording speech in another language, to correspond with non-english displays? Do.... do I have to number them all manually?  8-0

Thanks!

Interesting...

Mine's not supposed to be manly :P

The first thing I thought of when I read the title of the thread was "Tween Module", why wouldn't that work here? Or is that just for objects?
