If only it were
as simple as she can claim
her faith is not bad

love is, of course, nice
treating all with compassion
what a nice idea

this elixir, love
hope to all it may well bring
but there is a catch

too many speak of
this drink and then hand you a
drinking glass broken

this vessel of love
made by hand of man cannot
be therefore so pure

people point at me
there is a sinner in him
and they cast a stone

there are some that say
this is not what we declare
they lie from cold hearts

cynical I be
but my skin is thick only
by flames of the tongue

General Discussion / Re:What are you like?
Sat 18/01/2003 03:09:10
I'm fairly talkative one-on-one, I suppose.  I just don't really care for most people.  I find that people in general act and speak without thought or reason saying things that don't matter.   I like randomity and humor, definately but I don't go for many of the things that are fairly common in "civilized company."  If someone sneezes, I don't say, "Bless you."  If someone asks how I am, they'd better want to know -- I don't ask unless I actually want to know.  One comment on the weather is fine but an entire 10-minute conversation about it is inane.  Maybe I act/sound a bit egotistical but I really prefer only to invest myself in pleasurable/productive company.  I am not the sort to try and be nice just so that I don't offend somebody.  Not that I can't be tactful (or at least try).

For an example, look at the message board I choose.  With very few exceptions, I've chosen one with the best group of talented, intelligent and humorous people I've yet found on the internet.  I hope you liked it, cause that's about as sugar-coated as I get.

I must here concede
The wanderer's prose is good
obsessed though she is

I can see the light
it shone in me long ago
empty words of men

have been put away
in favor of a good heart
God is in us all

Wiccan I am not
but similar in thought yes
find spirit in all

banging head against
a wall can seem like progress
until the head breaks

No enmity I
have for you or all the like
but redundancy?

Repetition is
the work of man I am told
like a scratched record

Ah much peace I see
Except for those who make war
haiku brings gladness

Format is not strict
can be syllables of less
in lines not even

as long as less than
seventeen then it is good
but this way I like

Mr. C's Haikus
I enjoy them very much
gangsta haiku fly!

Edit: I have made
Sticky Topic is from Me
I am Freakin' proud!

Here is much debate.
Many words but little said.
A fix in haiku?

Pointless posts no thought,
reply with e-motes or small,
when will madness end?

Here is precision.
Syllables are seventeen,
or less if you want.

This message is long,
but thorough I must be here.
Only haiku here!

Who knows where this goes?
All of gen-gen in haiku?
Yakspit is a dope.

As to the dying thing.. I do like the freedom that I have in Lucasarts' games to try anything without penalty but I also enjoy the dying in Sierra games (at least the interesting ones).  Thanks to the save-game feature, I've played all the King's Quests and Space Quests both to win with as many points possible and to see if I could find all the different ways to die.  Maybe I'm just morbid.

If they sound like 311 now that's a bad move, but oh well, I'm sure they're still good to see live, Do they play very often around California, I think They're from Santa Barbara is that near you?

Heh, I was actually referring to Quality Softcore. =]  Maybe I'm mistaken and they're moving away from it.  I bought two of their albums..  Rock the Plank and Q.S.  I didn't like the Ska of Q.S. but think Rock the Plank is a total frickin' work of art.  I haven't seen 'em but wouldn't mind.. Santa Barbara's about 5 hours away from me but I'm near some decent show cities... San Francisco being one.  I've currently added (though tentatively until I hear more of it) Tsunami Bomb to my list.. one of the few female punk vocalists I like and they're from my area (two of 'em work at the local music store).

Well, since there are very few "seconds" to my selections, I gotta say Frenzal Rhomb and The Mad Caddies kick ass.  (don't care too much for Mad Caddies recent ska-only trend (sounds too much like 311)

Varies with season and mood. If I'm feeling a bit goofy, it'll be Barenaked Ladies, King Missile, Cake, Cracker, Simon & Garfunkel, Tenacious D, the Vandals or Millencolin.  If I'm more into the pissed-off mode it'll be Godsmack, Bad Religion, NoFX, Strung Out or any other number of punk bands.  If I'm moody, it'll be classical, Stabbing Westward, Billie Holiday, Louis Armstrong, or The Cure.  (I'm eclectic, if anything, I suppose)

Dim lighting a must.  A full pack of smokes - -definate must.  A full pot of coffee -- a good start.  Midnight or later -- best time.  Corpse of some sort within viewing distance -- helps sometimes (occasionally have to slaughter a gnat to accomplish this requirement).

Completed Game Announcements / Re:Satan Quest

If you ever do a talkie, I volunteer for the voice of Satan.
Oh, and in tribute:

The ending song I think should've been used instead:
(1 Meg .mp3 that will last until Geo$hities pulls it)
Only click if you release me from liability for any harm done.
If it dies I'll replace with a .zip if anybody wants it.. (trust me, you probably don't)

edit: And if you can get geo$hities to give it to you.
