Hi. I was working with AGS
I made a simple room using 1 point perspective. But them i found out that the character looked too small when near the bottom of the room.
So I used scaling on the walkable area, but I didn't like the smooth sprite, it looks out of place, I tried using DirectDraw5 but the scaling doesn't look good either.

I just wondering how you people draw a room that doesn't need to be used scaling on the character and not be a total side view with small walkable area.

Hi. I'm a average skilled artist who wants to help on fast projects and simple art

I can make props your game
I can do backgrounds in 3d or 2d
Characters in 3d and 2d
I'm not really animator but I can do small animations on 3d or lowres

nothing too complex, the simpler the better

If you want some help I would like to know the project that I'm working with, like the story and the progress of stuff, I really like to see the game developing.

I play the new monkey island series with my girlfriend
It's a little annoying that I need to translate everything to her. But it's kind ok.

If i'm not mistake RE 5 can be played on LAN. One control the guy and another one the girl.
although is not an adventure game, it have some kind of things to solve to get to others areas in the game.

I think playing very far, thru internet like a mmorpg is not the same as been close to other person.

Very smooth lighting. Very nice.
When I paint with transparency the gradients are very patchy
So I end up taking a lot of time to get them to look good and smooth
But some times its good to have some not too smoothed lights too.

thanks. I used

Code: ags

  if(GetLocationType(mouse.x,mouse.y) == eLocationObject) {

    Object *obj = Object.GetAtScreenXY(mouse.x, mouse.y);
    if (obj != null) obj.Transparency = 0;

  }

So it's not possible to convert types directly

Hi. Is there any way to convert a object name string into a type, like this:

(Object) Game.GetLocationName(mouse.x,mouse.y).Transparency = 50;

(Object) "apple".Transparency = 50;

Just watched the movie
I liked the movie but didn't think it was "The movie"
But it's a good movie

I didnt watch in 3D, but I guess for me the 3D stuff don't surprise me.
The CG characters animation and some expression were really great

Spoiler
I think that should be more blood there and they should have killed everyone in the american base in the end, it was a war. It would add more realistic feel to the movie.

General Discussion / Re: I'm messed up

When comparing this to drawing
Try not to being perfectionist
Like when you are still learning how to draw, you got to do loose sketchs to train yourself
like has been said here already: try a small game, simple graphics and learn from it then go for the more complex stuff

Me too, have the same problem. Never finished anything
I now often see Completed Game Announcements and AGS Games in Production threads to see them and I get inspired and full of ideas
But dunno if I ever going to finish them

I find it a bit weird the color pallets but they combine well
IMHO You could use some darker tones (and lights for highlights), like the ones you used in some bgs with the foreground, to give more contrast
Very pretty looking backgrounds

scrollable Isometric castle in deep ocean burning by turtle supporting gas cylinder
based on http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Turtles_all_the_way_down

Not enough details as I would want
but it was tiresome to do it

I made another render, without the too strong dof and less foggy
But without fog makes the back part very empty
And you can really see how my textures are very crappy by the house

here a part of the house texture, it joins photographic texturing and paint on top

Looking at it now, my camera angle is quite high, it's a problem to change it now >:(
I guess the whole layout is wrong, everything is far away so I have when I zoomed a little more I had a hard time trying to make all elements visible. I should have compact the scene more.
Mine img is huge, let's just say it's a 800x500 scrolling bg.
I tried a darker atmosphere with some light focusing on main things and lots of fog.
the girl in mine is really wierd, sorry, I don't know to do organic modelling.

Updated

zyndikate draw looks very depp in the florest, while mine and Neil looks more like in the open field.
Misj' second drawing looks nicer to me.
I like to see how everyone got their layouts of the scene.

I'm going to have exams and may be out for a while, So if the workshops ends this is going to be my final image. But if I have time I could try a better lightning solution.
