I just d/l it and my virus scanner picked up a virus in MAGSGAME.exe

MAGSGAME.exe was infected with Win32.Pinfi.A virus

it cleaned it but you should scan your drive and re upload the file.

the vampire one, the fuze box part, for some reason I forgot about the box after using the hand on it earlier on, the other trickey thing was putting the paint in that ball thingy, I just had no idea what it was, maybe I missed some dialog earlier in the game

Looking good Terranrich, I just noticed one thing, if you look at an inventory item, after you click off it, the menu gui at the top of screen remains off. (this is the case when you click outside the inventory large image and you don't go back to the normal inventory screen) you can get it back by pressing tab & closing inventory. Also when you restore a game, the top menu gui is off.

I'll get back and play some more, very interesting

a couple more things:  in the inventory window, if you use the hand on the blue cup, you smudge the finger prints, but then you have two cups, the smudged prints one and the original.

in the hanger if you press the 'release shuttlepod' button, a message behind the gui comes up and the game is frozen, you can only press alt-x to quit. - this is before you are probably supposed to press this button as I haven't finished the demo.

The legal alcohol limit to drive in Aus is 0.05 if you've been driving for a certain amount of years, and 0.02 for less experienced, but I know there was talk about having 0.00 for the first few years of your license, which I think is a great idea.

They are also doing tests for other drugs, on trial I think atm for truck drivers, testing for things like speed, extacy, marijuana, coke etc. I think you chew on something for a while then they take the sample and run it through a machine and it gives a pos, neg sample.

I think this will effect a lot of people if it becomes a regular police test, and especially for truckies.

What happens at college's in America, there's always those frat parties in movies, and most of the students are probably under 21. so I guess they do just drink like everyone else, just not legally.

When I turned 18, I stopped drinking, and then started again when I was about 22, I did drink alcohol in that time but never really cared about it too much. I'd find it hard to become an alcoholic, but I can drink pretty hard when needed.

The exits to walk off of a screen are not always good: the clifftop  right at the start is terrible, especially in windowed mode: only 1 pixel wide!

Interesting, I've never even thought of playing it in windowed mode, and that is probably 1 reason I never play AGS games in that mode now I think about it (plus I hate it cause it's too small usually)

but it is a good point, I can just widen the side lines of the screen. This was a good find as it was something that probably would never of occurred to me although I could just not have the setup in the zip so most people don't play in windowed mode, but I'll probably just widen the side lines (well the gap between the line and side of screen)

Just so you know which method I change rooms in most screens, it's just walking off the edge of screen past the side line I set, when there are 2 rooms off the same edge I just have it so when larry is above or below certain y coordinates going to the different rooms.

In places you can get stuck behind a walkbehind (in the casino at the show enterance haeding back to mirror balcony, for example): not good

Do you mean behind the column on the left side? I couldn't replicate that, I think it must be the same reason as the above,
or do you mean he's off the walkable area after entering the screen after being in the one of the show cutscenes?

There's something wierd happens to Larry's sprite as he enters Fat City, too

I have no idea about this one, can you describe what happens, I've tried it 100's of times and never seen anything wierd, as far as I can see, he walks in and is facing straight ahead.

Well I think this is pretty annoying, because I save many times. You may want to look RON template, it has a save game gui that works so that you can overwrite saved games.

Edit: Figured it out, it was just a couple of lines of code, quite simple in the end. So I've got it so you can overwrite a game. But you can still call 2 save games the same name, which is the same as the ron template. I had a look at the Tierra KQ2VGA save game and they have it so it replaces if you call it the same name, plus they have a delete feature, which I'm sure is not hard to do , but at this stage, I'm sure just replacing is much better than the original way I had it.

I'm a smoker, but I'm still relatively fit, and have a great immune system, although cancer will cut through my immune system and say fuck you're an idiot.

but I hate second hand smoke, even being a smoker, I never smoke inside my house, even in winter I bear the cold. If there are kids around I try to move away from them, and atleast try not to blow smoke in peoples faces, but at pubs and clubs I still smoke only because you can.

In a year or two, there will be no smoking anywhere, and it will be hard to go somewhere and feel comfortable lighting up. It might help me quit, and it's so bloody expensive these days, it's about $10 AUS for a pack of 25 ciggerettes, I remeber saying I'd quit when they reached $5.

My parents never smoked while I've been alive, and I've never lived for any long periods in a house where smoking was allowed, which probably helps a bit, but I really should quit.

This brings up the point of how long does someone have to live in a country until they become accepted. I'm not talking about being born in the country. (this goes for any country, not necessarily just USA)

I'd suggest doing a search on the site on avi, codecs or video or something, I'm not sure on the best codecs to use for movies in AGS, but I'm sure it's been discussed a fair bit before.

I know that if you use divX, which is great compression, to view it through AGS, the user must have the codecs installed, which goes for any codecs I'm pretty sure, but uncompressed, the files would be huge as i'm sure you know.

Just try a search and see what you come up with, hope it helps.

As far as the rest of the world see's California, we only really know about Hollywood, which is what? a Suburb, or City within LA. I guess there's SF too, but anywhere else is just not really well known.

People in California must look up to TV/Media too much eg. they think are as cool as the kids from 90210 or something, therefore voting for people that look sophisticated (but aren't) rather than someone who might actually help them, not just their own careers.
I think the world in general is falling into the same traps.

I've never heard of a Sock Monkey either, probably not a popular product in Aus, or I'm just not in the know about commercial products these days, I guess you know about these things if they were popular when you were a kid or you have your own kids. It took me a while to know what pokemon was, and I'm glad I missed that fad, but sock monkeys, that's no fad

Nothing is wrong with you, you just have to be in the right mood.

Sometimes I can play numerous games for weeks/months on end and after I finish them the last thing I want to do is play another.

sometimes I play one game, and after, not feel like playing another for months.

sometimes I'm not in the mood to play a game at all, and then I just play one and if I really get into it, I'm back playing them all again.

You have the games there, they probably won't run away, so if you ever feel like it, just play one, there's no rush.

[other known issues in this version]

1. When she invited me to sit the first time and I had to leave. Instead of using the hand icon on the sofa, I used the walk icon, which sucks.

I know the reason now, it will be fixed for the proper version, Vel, try things a few times  in different ways so you know the point where this occurred, which was after you looked at Suzi, that's what beta testing is about.

As I said, this is an AGS problem, I'll try to help with this but I'm not sure if it's possible.

Edit: I've made it better slightly, you can get to the locker with 2 clicks if you are smart, and you can get to the shower and gym in 1 click from the locker, it's hardly a game ruining thing, believe me it was very tricky to get the walkable areas to actually work with the walkbehinds
It was the hardest room in the game in that respect, and it's actually more accurate than the original version as there are a couple of spots in it, that you can see Larry's feet through to the other side of a locker.



Note:

other known issues in this version

*walkbehind in room with cliff just outside bamboo forest not the correct version (fixed)

*falling off cliff in same room, contains experimental falling version

*can't write over saved games unless slots are full (don't really know if this is a problem as most AGS games work this way)

*skipping intro cutscene sometimes skips back to start (fixed)

BTW: I haven't uploaded the fixed version
