Well, in the second instance I tell a character to move to x350 and y193, and the player to move blocking to that same coordinates. But both stop at roughly x300

Have you tried using MoveCharacterDirect as x350 is not a walkable area it will naturally stop at the edge of the walkable area on the screen unless you use 'Direct' instead of 'Blocking'

Did Hanson get out of gaol? I missed the news.

I think people have forgotten what she stood for, I think she should be in gaol for just being her, She must be a relo of that American kid band [hanson]. (if not, reggie from big bro)

Nah, she should just have to stay in queensland.

When you import a sprite you can choose the transparency a number of ways.

where it says Transparency colour: there is a drop down box with 5 options.

eg. top-left pixel, bottom right pixel etc

also, you don't need to make the background pink to make it transparent, any colour will work, and if you don't want any transparent bits select: pallete index 0.

I hope that helps.

It's Funny, Murdock couldn't get the superleague to work in Australia, cause the public didn't agree with it, what's also funny is an Aussie going over to America and stealing the FOX network, American's are such pushovers, don't push me, push a push-pop.

There is a relatively successful League schoolboys comp, dominated by the catholic schools (which shows a demographic difference between the codes)

Not Necessarily, cause Joey's is a catholic school, so is st. Ignatious, and they are big Union Schools, the league one's are the less upper class catholic schools (one's that aren't on the North shore or Eastern suburbs.)

Go the Canberra Raiders, they beat the Knights today, woohoo

In Australia, schools don't have stadiums, well not large ones, private schools have bigger ones and government schools just have a field or two, but The parents can be terrible.

When I was a kid I used to play hockey (field, not ice) and some kids parents would push there kids so hard, but the worst bit was the corruption in the selection of the rep teams, as the parents were selectors and their kids would always be first pick, it was impossible to get in the state side cause by the time you got near enough to that level, the kids from all the different areas parents always ended up on the selection committee, I'm sure this thing happens in all sports, also at the top level in pro sports (not their parents, but influential coaches etc)

There are some of the worlds biggest stadiums in Australia though, For instance, tonight there was a Game of Aussie Rules Football, in Sydney which had over 70,000 people, and the stadium still didn't look full, (it was also raining and Aussie Rules is not even the main winter sport in NSW) It was also broadcast Live on free to air TV.

Most of the private schools in Sydney play Rugby Union and Cricket, and they get large crowds, cause I think it might be part of the schools rules that the kids have to go and watch their teams play. glad I didn't go to private school.

But sport in general is huge in Australia, The Rugby World Cup is in October, I'm not a big fan, I prefer Rugby League, but still, it's gonna be the biggest event here since the Olympics, A good time to go out and party

I've also met John Birmingham. His books are the fucking funniest reads ever if you can find them overseas. See if you can find his classic piece of work "He Died With A Felafel In His Hand".

Yes, I've read that, excellent look at life in share houses, I really related well to a lot of the stuff in that.

He'd be a very interesting person to meet.

I've met Numerous Australian cricket stars

Steve Waugh: Australian Captain, Asked him to fill in for my team but he said he had other commitments (it was a joke but I did ask)

Bret Lee: Probably the worlds fastest bowler, I was at a local pub/nightclub and he rocked up with a few mates, and some other guys from his state team, I chatted to him for quite a while, until more people started to recognise him, then he was just swarmed by chicks.

Also I'm an aquaintence of the lead singer of a fairly well known Aussie band Frenzal Rhomb (Jason Whalley), I went to uni with his sister, and been out with them on many occasions.

Jason Donovan (actor druggo, collapsed at the viper room [where River Phoenix died, common place to collapse]) When I was about 11 years old, it was cool then, he was on Neighbours.

Isla Fisher: She's a sexy chick actor that used to be on Home & Away, She was in the movie Scooby Doo, I was at a Frenzal Rhomb gig and I was standing next to her, my friend pointed it out and I was stunned. She was smoking and drinking a VB (beer) very cool, she seemed too innocent on tv.
I found this site: http://www.islafisher.co.uk/ apparently she's engaged to Ali G

Tim Webster: Australian sports news presenter on chanel 10, He's the father of one of my friends.

I've seen plenty of others on the street, (driving in traffic even) but never spoken to them.

Mike Patton walked passed me at a gig, although it was his gig for Mr. Bungle, during the support band, So I did expect to see him but not that close.

Oh, and Shane Warne has sent me some sexy sms's, but he does that to everyone.

SetCharacterIdle (CHARID, int idleview, int delay)

"Pass IDLEVIEW as -1 to disable the idle view completely." - quote from the manual.

probably put it in the room script before room load, and set it back when you leave the room, or in another room you enter.

Goldwave does it and it's free... www.goldwave.com

Yeah, good link AGA, I just tried this and it does the job, I just tested it and you can convert to ogg files if you want instead of mp3.

I just put 4 mp3's through the batch converter to ogg, you can convert pretty much between whatever formats you want.

to convert 500 wavs would take a while, just set it up, go to work and they'll be ready when you get home.

That's cool, I like the shooting gallery thingy, If you could find the source it would be cool, but don't go out of your way.

There is a plugin for soundforge for exactly that.

http://www.sonicfoundry.com/products/showproduct.asp?PID=478

So if you feel like paying, go to sonic foundry's site and check it out, otherwise there's Kaza, if you don't have a problem with it.

Edit: It might also work as a stand alone program

I think I know what you're saying,

eg. in an animation where say, the character puts his arm out to the left

you have the normal character sprite croped to his size and a larger image for the one with the arm out and other sizes in between.

I think in AGS sprites are aligned bottom centre, therefore you can just work out where the centre of each sprite is, Also I think you can change this with this:

SetCharacterViewEx (CHARID, int view, int loop, align)

I think that could help, give it a go and see.

Edit: or try what scummbuddy said

General Discussion / Re:How gay are you?
Thu 21/08/2003 13:57:04
I'm 20% gay, 63% lesbian, maybe if I didn't shave my pubic hair I'd be more lesbian
#1114
I grew up next door to a Lesbian, she only came out when she was about 25 (about 3 years ago) It didn't surprise me at all, she's a blonde surfer chick, that always seemed to like blokey type stuff. She's quite attractive too. (she's got a butch girlfriend [seems too stereotypical])

I live in Sydney, which has quite a large gay population, and it is noticable in some areas of the city, it's quite normal to see guys holding hands, kissing, slapping arses (girls too, pitty I have no chance with them, I guess 2 of them could be bi [you can only dream{unless you're a porn star, or just really lucky}])

It's a lot more socially acceptable for homosexual people to roam the streets and just behave like any other couple these days, I guess that helps people get used to it all, so it just becomes a part of life and people will eventually get on with there lives and classification of sexual preference will become something people won't even think about.

But for it to happen on a global scale, I guess it'll take forever, mainly due to narrow minded people, and some religions, but oh well, you can't change peoples minds for them (unless you're a good hypnotist)

It's a gradual process, like women becoming more accepted in the business world, It's come a long way.

It's probably easier to be gay in Sydney than to be an Aboriginal person that's family has lived here for thousands of years, pretty sad really, it's like being an American Laptop.

silly people, the internet was invented in the US and we're just letting you use it.

I know it's a joke,(and I never read what was written before you eddited it) but it has some truth in it, the internet started out by American University's, they wanted to link them all together to communicate with each other, I think also NASA had something to do with it.

It grew from there, but at the same time other countries ie Australia had plenty of networks in companies, Uni's, lots of BBS that people used, which eventually caught on to the internet thing.

The internet is not just 1 thing invented by a person, it's litterally billions of different networks hooked up through a cable, that had no real development process and is still very experimental.

I have no real point, but if America decided to shut the internet down, it wouldn't happen, cause the rest of the world would still use it, so no, America isn't just letting us use it, they are just using us for illegal information.

As for the topic, I don't see any problem with it, I don't know if I'd play it (unless you got the choice of being a lesbian) but I'm sure there are plenty of people who would be interested.

I'm sure gay people aren't thrilled to play LSL and have to sleep with women (I could be wrong, I guess it's only a game, with great puzzles)

I guess the game could be good if the game play and story are good.

and send me one of those $200 laptops please

Depends what method you're using, if you are making an animation for fading out (scummbuddy's method) you just use a view in the editor, which can have up to about 286 frames in a view (15 loops I think, with 19 per loop [20 for 1 loop if you don't use multiple loops])

Then use objects for the text, then animate them.

You may be thinking of animating the background, which you can have 5 frames I think, but don't do that.

I hope you understand what I just said

Anybody happen to know the potion formulas for qfg 4? I own the game but have lost the copyprotection codes.....

This is a great site for any game or program if you have lost the manual:

http://www.replacementdocs.com/

I searched for "quest for glory" it came up with:

Quest for Glory Anthology & Quest for Glory V, so it may be in the anthology one, I'm d/l it at the moment, 9MB and the site is really slow, about the speed of a dial-up.

I'll edit the post if I get the answer from it, otherwise, there's the link, it's a great link, worth keeping for future reference.

Edit: Yep, the codes were there, I think this is what you need:
