Yeah, great game Butcher, I didn't like the first 2 in the series, but this one I thought was excellent, it was pretty easy though.

I haven't been waiting for this to come out, so it was a good surprise. The flash intro was good but the game was better.

I also found some bugs
Spoiler
If you try to give the dead bird to the mafia dude the game shuts down and gives some number to tell Chris.

After you cook the bird in the oven, in your inventory you have two cooked dinners, or one cooked and one uncooked or something, the inventory is a bit screwy at that part but you can still work it out.

a good conclusion to the series.

Las, Yeah more girls will probably dig his voice, therefore attract more chicks to the venue, therefore more guys will come to see the band to try and pick up the chicks, so as a marketing ploy it probably works.

I'd be interested to hear more of their stuff before I judge too harshly, it's definately got some potential.

Also see if you recognise my new avatar, it's the Zumex Movil.

Edit:

The Arkoff Experiment

This is one of the more original bands you will hear, They are hard to describe so I pinched some text from their website. This is how they've been descibed.

"The Arkoff Experiment are a 9 piece Sydney group, Presenting for you a cocktail of Lounge-Garage-Surf-Exotica-Rockabilly-Swing and Electro Dub."

"A voyeuristic multimedia experience delving thru 40's Hep-Joints to the underground scene of 2001. The band combines an ensemble of video projections, a wide range of instruments and a vivid stage performance verging on the darker noir side of life."

"The Arkoff Experiment are a rare treat in a sea of lifeless musical cliches"

"a strange blend of swamp, soul, psychobilly and exotica.
Described as The Cramps meets James Brown meets Ed Wood."

go here They have some samples, pictures and videos
Very interesting too

Rubix Cuba - Personally I don't go for the singing style, to "girly pop" for me. but what ever tickles your twat.

It could be a little tighter, I don't know how experienced the musicians are.
Just sharper on all the transitions, That seems to happen with experience playing together.

Needs more syncapation, the intruments seem to play together too much and pause in the same spots, maybe a few more drum phylls somewhere

I like the guitar sound, the flute part is good too,

The horn section is a little boring, horn sections can usually be a real feature but not in this case.

I think they just need more experience and experiment a bit more.

highwaygal: you can download it on the link that Las gave, in the Latest News text where it says '"Wait Up" here'

If that is the single Las was stalking about

yeah Fanny's Is where I saw Bungle but I did also see them a few years before at the Cambridge.

Yeah Local bands are usually about 10 bucks, which is good, but even some in Sydney these days are 20 or 30.

International bands are damn expensive though, well large ones, Chili Peppers was aound 100, but that's the top of the scale, band like Reel Big Fish or the like cost about 30 or 40

but The Mad Caddies were about 10 - 15

For anyone reading this, This is in Australian dollars so it's probably cheaper than it sounds to Americans and Europeans

How much Do similar bands cost overseas?

Quote from: Trapezoid on Fri 03/01/2003 18:52:20I mentioned Mr Bungle earlier... I want you all to buy their 1999 album "California" right now. It's awsome.

Yeah Trap, I love Mr Bungle, I haven't heard California, I haven't listened to Bungle since about 1996 although I did see them in about 1999 so I guess I've probably heard some of the stuff. It was a really cool gig too, it was in Las Naranjas home town just in a small pub, Mike Patton was just walking around the place too, I never realised how small the guy is.
It's pretty cool seeing some rich as fuk guy, just playing small gigs in local towns. makes you realise he's not just in it for the money and actually loves what he does.

I  also saw Fantomas last year or the year before, geez now it might even be the year before that, that gig was awsome, they are pretty similar to Bungle though.

Ah I forgot I like Primus too, I've seen them about 5 or 6 times, Awsome live.

Ministry, Awesome live

The Stray Cats, you gotta love that Rockabilly stuff, Brian Setzer is a legend guitar player, and singer. I can't believe a few years ago I saw the Brian Setzer Orchestra playing in that night club in Beverley hills 90210, that spun me out, and yes I watched that show, I graduated in 1993, the same year as them even though they were probably 10-20 years older than me at the time.

The Living End (AUS) They basically started as a Stray Cats Cover band, but I They write some pretty cool original stuff, They kick ass live, or did a few years ago.

Everyone go and see bands Live, heaps better than staying at home listening to them, but these days they cost a fking fortune

I like both companies for different games, I feel sorry for people who only like one or the other.

At least in my mind I get to live in a world, gaining enjoyment from both.

but I also agree with Las, it's usually the games you are brought up with.

I first played LSL3 and SQ3, They will always be my favourites, later on I discovered MI 1&2, and thought wow another company is making cool games too.

It just doubles the Gamee Goodness

They are all good in there own ways.

The first game I actually recieved was Hero's Quest: So you want to be a hero. That series is up there too, along with the indy games, I actually probably played The Last Crusade before the MI series, at the time never even noticed the company (LucasFilm)

Quote from: YakSpit on Fri 03/01/2003 01:25:55(don't care too much for Mad Caddies recent ska-only trend (sounds too much like 311)

I don't know if I've heard any recent stuff, but I saw them about 1.5 years ago in Sydney, I've got their album Quality Softcore and I've d/l some songs from Duck and Cover. They are great to see live, They for me are better live than Frenzal, Frenzal are great on disc but live they play too fast. I went backstage and met the guys from The mad caddies, It's good to see they are just average blokes not some up themselves try hard rockstars, I guess that goes with not being a huge band, they haven't lost their heads, Same with Frenzal, I met Jay from Frenzal about 10 years ago, now he's the only original member left, I'm not close friends or anything just really an Acquaintance.

If they sound like 311 now that's a bad move, but oh well, I'm sure they're still good to see live, Do they play very often around California, I think They're from Santa Barbara is that near you?
#1529
I think you can die in MI2 when you are hanging in the jail cell with wally, if you take too long you die, but I can't remeber what happens next, I think you probably get to play from the start of the scene again

thanks sluggo, it did explain the button puzzle rather well, I was pretty close to working it out, I just gave up to easily
#1533
what's the password then for the walkthru, does it explain the buttons puzzle, if not don't worry. I had another go clicking trying to figure out some pattern but my mind has drawn a blank on this one.

It would be nice if i knew what buttons have to be up and which down, does anyone know
#1534
This game looks really cool, judging by the demo the game will be worth playing.
Spoiler
I don't know if this is a bug or the end of the demo but after you give the bum the beema, then talk to him it switches the game off like it is quitting the game without asking.
Is this the end, cause I wanted to go to the beach to see max,
Also are you supposed to somehow get your van sprayed, I think jimmy told me to do that but I couldn't find a car spraying place.

Look forward to the game being released, I guess it won't be long.

QuoteNo way. I already played Sierra King's Quest 2, I don't bothering for this version.

You obviously didn't read other peoples coments, cause it's not really a remake, There is probably 50% new material,

QuoteNo. I sleep the night.

Your computer still works when you're asleep, I'm not kidding

But on a serious note why bother even comenting on the game if you don't want to play it.

I'd prefer to download a 50meg original game too
and as I said before KQ2 sucks but Tierra's version makes you think twice about how remakes can also be original pieces.

Sluggo
Spoiler
get the toilet brush and stir punch.

If anyone has worked out the on/off buttons puzzle, to find some pattern or way it works, I need a hint, I don't have the patience to persist with this one, I hate those particular type of puzzles.

i guess i eat butter must be on holidays
#1537
I can understand not downloading it on a dialup, but to assume it is just a remake is a bit ignorant. Maybe you could downlaod it over night or something.

I am no where near a fan of the KQ series, infact I hate all that royal type stuff, but Tierra's game is by far the best AGS game made this year and it surprised me.

I was expecting a duplicate remake, but this is a totally new game just based on KQ2, It hardly even seems like KQ2

Very much worth a download
#1538
Yeah fair enough, I didn't read the guidelines for the mags comp

Nice game Duzz, I like the Good/Evil concept, the rudolph thing  was a nice touch. The only thing that made it annoying for me was the fact that it was in the snow, I know it made for a good effect, but you've fallen victim to the nothern hemisphere's idea of christmas and santa.

I know your an Aussie, you could have put santa in shorts and T-shirt, on a hot and steamy evening, complaining about the heat or something. Just to show that Christmas isn't just about snow and being cold. here it's about going to the beach and stuff.

It's a good game though, although the puzzles are quite easy.

I remeber being confused as a kid thinking why is santa wearing warm clothes all the time, I knew he's from the north pole, but when he got to Australia he would have been too hot.

I guess most people from the Northern hemisphere would never of thought about that.

The puzzles in this game are quite hard although you don't seem to give any clues on what exactly you have to do.
Spoiler
I accidently stumbled across the voodoo doll thing just by trying everything,(I know it's from monkey island, but you don't give any hints to make you think that's what you have to do) I couldn't unlock the drawer, maybe you can't.
I am now stuck downstairs in a room, and there is a puzzle of clicking buttons, Is there some combination to make it work? again there are no clues to whether all the buttons have to be down or up, which makes the puzzle pretty weak or just annoying.
is it random cause it doesn't seem to have a pattern, any hints would be nice
[close]

The game is quite good, A bit of bad taste in some parts, but it does have an adult warning. the only bit I wish you avoided was the bloody tampon, the rest doesn't really require an adult warning except for the language i guess.
