Congrats, this is some good promotion for your game, whether its bad or good, doesn't matter. I'd never heard of it before, and now I have

And when it comes down to it, the people that are offended, will be secretly playing the game, because they know they are just annoyed at content and are still drawn to it.

If they are offended, why bother posting, just ignore and move on to something else

I think the nurse is wearing too much personally

We had some Canadian posing as an Aussie to win us a Gold (I think the story is more like, he was kicked out of the Canadian team 5 years ago from lack of training cause he runs his own multimillion dollar company, and Australia accepted him with open arms, and let him train in his own time) we got a Bronze in something else too.

Didn't see much of it, and it is hardly popular here cause there isn't much of a snow season and it's only in one little pocket in the south east of the continent.

Good to see Sweden doing so well, congrats

Pump that Sleeze from the nose to the knees,
With creamy cheese, and honey from the bees,
It's enough to make you wheeze,
What a fuck'n tease, but please......

Don't squeeze anymore pineapples,
I'm full, and I've seen what you do with the ends,
No wonder you're in a wheel chair,
Nice hair, but would it kill you to use some femme fresh once in a while?

MCL is shit, not that funny either, although I never bothered finishing it

It is banned in my country, but there's a little thing called ebay

I don't think I'll be buying the new one

As far as those Sierra collections are concerned, I don't think they ship to Australia, Hopefully it brings down the ebay prices though

I think the purpose of Fan games, remaking old classics, etc is really good practice to see how the AGS engine works.

It can be a good tool for problem solving and working out how to program something to work in a very specific way.

It also helps you to try and work out all the different possibilities and outcomes, so it stimulates your mind.

It also puts you in a position of going through the same (or similar) process of the original makers of the game, just thinking 17 years ago Al Lowe was up against that same problem or situation.

As a lot of people here are nostalgic players of Sierra and Lucas Arts games, it can be just fun to do.

Some people might pull cars apart and put them back together for fun, it's much the same thing.

As some people may be aware I have been remaking LSL3, no new graphics, pretty much like the LSL2 that redruM made. It has been a really good exercise, and when its finished I may not even release it. (it was about 90% complete in dec 2003)

People do things in life for different reasons, some people may want to remake a classic to gain some sort of following or popularity, some people may want to see if they can do it, some people may not have any ideas for their own project and it may be a good stepping stone.

There is a place for it, some people like to play them, some people don't, so if you don't, why worry or complain about people who remake games, or make fan games, how does it effect you anyway?

Also in a few old games, especially sierra games, there are some issues running games with the fast machines these days. I can't finish the VGA version of Quest for Glory 1 on my current machine, even using programs to try and slow down the timing (moslo etc don't work anymore as machines are even faster now) In LSL3 you may have to lift the weights 100's of times each to get passed. So converting a game with AGS can get rid of these problems.

also the issue of the text parser, some people like it, other people won't play a game because of it, so converting a game into point & click may allow someone that never played the game to maybe give it a go.

General Discussion / Re: Smokefree Workplaces

Smoking is only allowed in one area of a pub at the moment in Australia (maybe just NSW, not sure completely) and later this year it will be banned completely, following Ireland.

The one area is usually the pokie rooms (slots, gambling) so I'm wondering what's going to happen once the ban is in force. The pokies and smoking go hand in hand (no pun) and I'm sure they're worried as if a gambler has to go out for a smoke they might not be taking 5 mins worth of their money which over time might earn them less money.

I'm just waiting to see if they start having outdoor pokie areas, and I wouldn't be suprised if it happened.

I smoke and I'm quite happy to smoke outside, I've never smoked in any house I've lived, and I usually smoke outside at the pub anyway.

One scarey thing is if you live in a large city, your lungs are black already, even if you've never smoked, all that lovely pollution from vehicles and factories.

I'm suprised smoking hasn't been banned in pubs and clubs over the world many years ago, it's really sad.

I find it odd that in a lot of movies & TV (especially American, and especially cop shows), they smoke, or even offer smokes in offices, occasionally making a comment about quitting. Cigarette companies obviously still have a lot of power in the market, even with no advertising

Damn it, after all this crap about cigi's, I'm going for a smoke

Well it's not a photo of me, but this is my new bed which was installed today after waiting 4 months. It just looks like a wardrobe until you pull the top handles

Then in a very smooth, light weight and well balanced action it pulls down

saves me heaps of room, and is well disguised

General Discussion / Re: My new appartment!

It's great to have a place on your own, I've shared places for years and finally got enough money together to buy my own (with the help of a home loan).

And I just happen to live in one of the more expensive cities in the world to live (Sydney), and I'm not rich either. I'm also about 25km out of the city but it's expensive everywhere, especially in the north and east.

Good luck Voh, I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

My place is smaller than yours and quite a bit more expensive too, but it's all I can really afford.

here's a few pics

The Building (some of it, I can't fit it in 1 photo)

above from google earth

kitchen, it has a combination microwave and conventional oven and dishwasher etc

computer area

couch, the rear surround sound speakers

Wall unit, which has everything, TV, Home Theatre, Stereo, cupboards, drawers, and on Saturday, in the section on the right, I will have a double pull down wall bed (which I've been waiting 4 months to be shipped from Spain) there's also more cupboards to the right out of shot [this doesn't come with the place, it's all extras I've bought]

The view out my window (zoom x3) but I shrinked the image anyway

So It's only a small studio, I have a bathroom too but everyone knows what they look like

I also have a pool, spa, sauna, gym, bar, cafe, car space

It's also got aircon, which I'm glad cause it's pretty hot today, but nice and cool in here, cant get cable internet but I've got ADSL 512k which is fine for me.

It's great having your own place

I just use

Paste and Go - if you copy a url from text you can paste it and go straight to the sight with out having to press enter

Adblock

(which strangely enough are the same one's I was using earlier in this thread a year ago)

I tried Forecast Fox which puts the weather details in your browser, but stupidly enough as I live on the other side of the world, it's always a day behind, you'd think these people would know about time zones.

Then as weather people are always wrong, a day behind makes it twice as wrong, which makes it pointless, I might as well just look out the window, I usually check the weather on a local site or watch the news, as I work out doors I like to know if i'll need a raincoat (which is about 10 times a year and not usually a whole day of rain)

The only way you can top that is if Mr Colossal uses HIS magic powers to travel in time to bring a sports almanac to his past self and make even MORE moneys!

I'm using my magical powers and I reckon DG watched Back to the Future 2 tonight

I think you are this girl Andrea you speak of, after years of telling us the ins and outs of your private relationships, some how you've become your ultimate partner but it's all in your mind. ;)

It is possible that you are just on a similar wave length, or you totally just fluked it all.

I bet if you tried a number between 1-100 and had 100 attempts the percentage of correct answers would go down. also being 1 number off guessing is still wrong and may as well be 87 off.

Finishing off sentences is pretty common with people that know each other well, even knowing what someone is thinking and communicating that to each other without a word is common.

If you haven't known this girl for long and you are already at this stage, I bet you've both had similar friends or have similar thought processes, brought up in similar environments, similar interests etc, which is also what has probably brought you together.

I'd say it's nothing that unusual, and could make for an interesting relationship, just make sure she's not your long lost twin sister first :=

Haughty Intellectual
You are 71% Rational, 14% Extroverted, 42% Brutal, and 57% Arrogant.

My Introvertedness brings down my arrogance and my rationality brings down my brutalness, I'd say that replace haughty with naughty and you'd be getting closer

Monster Skank - Infectious Grooves (easily the best song ever)

At the time, about 1993, was when I just couldn't get enough of the funky bass from the most brilliant bassist who now wastes his talent with metallica

Mezmerize & Hypnotize (SOAD) the last 2 albums I have actually bought  (the biggest scandle is that they both fit on 1 CD)

These 2 albums released this year are amazing, even people that hate heavy music can enjoy them, structurally they are works of art.

some people are drawn to this band by their political stance, but for me it's the syncopation, timing of their changes, and keys, that are just so irresistible. And the musical talent is there too

Er... that web1000 link redirects me to porn.. O_o

Thanks for that, I removed all the links to the web1000 site, which was where the site was originally hosted in 2002

The only link you need is this

http://members.lycos.co.uk/timosity/
or
http://timosity.dyn.ro   (which is just a redirection url to the same site)

the site doesn't allow hotlinking

This is not a New Game, (over 3 years old) but it has never been compatible with Windows XP.

As I explained in the edited first post, I found the original source and was able to compile it with AGS 2.62, which seems to have fixed the game crashing.

So if you ever couldn't finish it due to the incompatibility or never heard of it, or are just bored, then it is now playable.

Well it's after 8:30pm on New Years Day and it's still over 40 degrees C, down from the mid 40's (over 110 F), just had a swim, just one of those days that's way too hot to go outside, feels like you're in an oven.

It's a nice cool 24 C in my apartment though

Had a few close friends round in the arvo for a few beers and a swim, very hot day, still pretty warm at 2:40am New years day

Saw the early fireworks 9pm from my apartment, then caught a train to city and saw the midnight ones. Too crowded in city hundreds of thousands of people (literally) so didn't bother going to any pubs and came home. Nothing really that special.

It's going to be another hot one later today (1.1.06) 43C (109.4F) I'm glad I have air conditioning (and a pool)

Happy New Year, from the New Year to those people still back in 2005
