The second last one looks like something Squinky did, but I'm not sure of the game

I don't read the forums as often as I used to, and probably don't post as often, not that I ever overposted. But I still have a brief look most days.

I don't know what keeps me coming back, I don't feel like I've climbed up any ladders in the community or am anymore respected than anyone else, but that's the way I like to think.

I have an addictive personality so I guess that's another reason I come back, I have a busy work life and a decent social life, I play sport and I'm not a typical computer nerd type, it took me a while to get used to posting here cause I thought it was a bit nerdy.

I made my first game before even registering (or posting) on the forums, which is pretty rare. although I did use the technical forums to find answers, and had used the forums for over a year before I joined to keep up to date with any new games released to play.

The forum has given me a place to learn about other cultures, and also realise how similar a lot of cultures are when it comes down to it.

It's a good mix of people, I've never really had a problem with anyone, although I'm hard to piss off, and I'm good at ignoring what I don't care about, or don't want to get involved in.

I don't feel I've made many close friends and I've only physically met 1 other AGSer (Las Naranjas) I guess that's just the computer thing, it's hard know who actually cares about you, but I don't express myself to other people that well either.

I have rarely used irc or any other chat thing, I guess I prefer to have conversations in person, and forum communication electronically.

Anyway, I'm on holidays for about 3 weeks now, so after this weekend, I'm hopping in my car, heading North along the coast, pity I have to come back on the weekend to play cricket, but I'll probably head off for a second week if I feel the need (sorry to add in the last part but I'm so excited at the moment and I really deserve this break)

It's Spring here at the moment, just finished winter, it was the warmest winter in Sydney since 1859 averaging 19.2C as the maximum.

I start 3 weeks holiday in less than 24hours, I've been working 6 days a week lately and I'm really looking forward to just jumping in my car and travelling up the coast stopping wherever I feel like. YAYFUK

Also make sure your Firewall isn't blocking the network connection (if you have a firewall)

This screwed me up for a while.

especially with ZA on both machines

have you set up IP addresses or is it set to obtain automatically. sometimes it might be worth trying to initially set up the network with specific ip addresses eg. 192.168.0.1 & the other pc 192.168.0.2

both subnet masks 255.255.255.0

I can share internet, but I've somehow screwed something up so I can't share any files between my 2 machines anymore, it all started when I reinstalled XP the first time (and never got it to work each other time) I think that's the problem, you can't call your machine the same name the next time you reinstall xp, it adds a number next to it.

eg.
it started as Tim
Then I called it Tim again and it was Tim1
Now it's Tim2

I can view folders either way but can't copy them either way, my C: drive share name is C$ and I can't change it.

I just have a couple of spare hard drives I can connect through a firewire thesedays for backup purposes.

(this is XP pro on one and Win98se on the other) (2 people can use the internet at the same time, that's all it's good for at the moment)

I've met quite a few Australian Cricket players that some may have heard of

Steve Waugh
Mark Waugh
Brett Lee
and many others

I met Jason Donovan when he was on Neighbours in the mid 80's, I just got to shake his hand. This was at an action game show called "It's a Knockout" if any Aussies are old enough to remember it.

John Laws (famous australian radio wanker man with the golden microphone) I didn't really meet him, that's cause I'm a good driver and avoided him wiping me off the road. This was in busy traffic and he just changed lanes right in front of me without looking as if he owned the roads. He's also famous for collecting expensive cars, maybe he should learn how to drive them first. This was some shitty convertable Lexus. He didn't even look back after to acknowlege anything had even happened.

I've met pleanty of others BCDEFGZ levels but never really sat and had a chat with any.

Except Jason Whalley from Frenzal Rhomb, who is an acquaintance of mine, although I haven't seen him for a couple of years. If any aussies listen to JJJ, he took over Roy & HG's radio show while they were at the Olympics, and I think he'll be getting a few more shows over the next little while.

Was there a talkie version of The Last Crusade? cause I saw someone on ebay recently selling a copy of it claiming it was the talkie version [PC game, not movie obviously].

I don't see any volcanos, tidal waves, meteors, asteroids, comets, hey there's more but yeah , that's quite a list, hope it doesn't cause too much damage if it hits you. Good luck.

We call them Cyclones in Australia, and they are Typhoons in SE Asia, I was actually quite annoyed when I saw that movie recently with those massive Hurricanes as they mentioned a Typhoon in Australia thinking that they were clever, but they fucked up as usual with their research (and yes they spin the other way in the sothern hemisphere)

Obviously these are just opinions, but I also feel that these particular games are hard to judge for some people as they are some of the classics of AGS, and will always remain in certain peoples hearts.

For me I didn't really like Larry Vales and couldn't understand what all the fuss was about.
But that doesn't mean the graphics were bad, I'm no art cricket, but all I can say was there was a good improvement in most areas from LV1 to LV2.

I loved the graphics of PB and the game as a whole was fantastic, this one deserves the credit it has received.

I also like FenderQ's style and his short games, wonder where He's disappeared to?

Yeah, I agree that the Chinese will kick arse in Beijing, the home team usually does better than usual.

They were only 3 Gold off the USA this time, although the US got a lot more medals in total, but not many more than Russia.

Those 3 teams are generally up there. (usually along with Germany, they're still up there, but have dropped back in recent years)

Australia came 4th by Gold and By Total medals which is pretty good for a small population (same position as last olympics), New Zealand did pretty well with 3 Gold which would put them right up the top in terms of Gold per head of population.

Aust had lots of funding for years leading up to the Sydney games, but it was cut back a lot for these ones and we still got our most Gold ever, 1 better than Sydney.

What a shame about the Brazilian Marathon runner, some damn psychonaut Irish drunk priest jester, pity he didn't get run over the last time at the F1 Grand Prix.

I installed it a while ago, the RC2 version, and it all seemed fine, then (I don't know if this is related) I got a virus that corrupted some system file so I got an error each time windows loaded. To get rid of the error message I formatted and started up a fresh version, but I still haven't put SP2 on yet, I can't see any benefits at this time.

Usually if there are bits in alcohol, I say drink it anyway, it's probably more alcoholic, and if you are worried about any contaminents, the alcohol will kill any bacteria anyway.

The best Beer has bits in it anyway, mmmmmmm Coopers

I think it's hilarious that Australia beat Japan in the baseball, the latter being one of the biggest Baseball nation in the world and the former without a currently operating baseball league.

I don't think we'll beat Cuba though, we're pretty lucky to be playing in the Gold/Silver match as Cuba beat Canada, and Canada beat us 11-0, at least it's a garanteed silver.

I haven't physically watched a lot of the Olympics but I usually have it on in the background. And most of the finals are on when I'm asleep.

Over all I think it's Australia's most successful away games.

At the moment an Aussie is leading the womans triathlon...... (waits a few minutes) gets overtaken in the last 5 secs of a race that goes over 2 hours to get silver, it was still a great effort, and the winner came from nowhere (quite extraordinary)

It's good to see how well some of the poor African countries go in Athletics, much better than Australia

Australia was 2nd, USA was 12th, GBR 2,600,042nd

How many people really count kindergarten/pre-primary as a year?

I don't know? you probably learn a lot more in that year than you think, but there's also preschool which is the year before Kindergarten.

in NSW Kindergarten is in big school (infants ie K,1,2)  (primary 3,4,5,6 is usually in the same school but a different section.) Preschool is the year before Kindergarten and is usually in a seperate place.

It's good to see other nations performing well in Basketball, It's only a matter of time before they catch up to the USA (still a few years yet though), there are a lot of non Americans in the NBA these days which helps as it's the best competition in the world.

The USA recently has been sending young up and coming players to the Olympics rather than a Dream team, which also assists in making the competition a bit closer.

They only just made the Final in the last Olympics, They beat Lithuania by 4 points after scores being level with less than a minute to go, I was at the game and the crowd was totally behind Lithuania. It would have been interesting seeing 2 other nations competing for gold. But It was a great game.

Some of those other guys are smart and funny (not so much anymore) but Andrew Denton is the funniest, most clever, and serious of the lot (except when he was on commercial radio, although I never really heard any of it)

Roy and HG have lost it, I do like what they do, but It's just becomiing too much the same.

As for the Olympics Australia has been coming 2nd for 2 days (and that's about as close as it gets until there are some events other than swimming [although there were golds in other sports too])

We came 4th in Sydney2000, After USA, Russia and China, in that order in terms of medals

It'll be interesting to see how we go since the athlete's haven't got as much funding this time round (or as many athletes competing)

As far as medals per head of population I think we kick everyones arse. I wonder where Great Brittain will come, funny, you'd think combining a few nations would help

But I can't really speak as though it has anything to do with me, cause most of the sports are really quite boring when it comes down to it.

I'm really looking forward to watching the marathon, that's pure entertainment.

Actually, the Paralympics are quite entertaining, more interesting.

and a bit of trivia, the para in Paralympics actually stands for parallel as in they run side by side to the Olympics. not what most people think

I didn't think of UHS but yeah, it is a great thing for little hints like that.

I just finished the game, Great game, I'm not sure if I liked the ending yet, was sort of all over too quick, but overall the game's up there with my favourites

I just noticed a typo in the url
