It seems like a good system, but yes, it will take a bit of time for the results to make any sort of sense.

but on the other hand, I can still see it being some what similar to the old system, where if someone doesn't like a game (or person) the results will be a bit off (which in turn might influence other peoples decisions on their submissions.

Just an example of what I mean, If you notice not many games have got enough votes yet, But Flasbax & Who wants to live forever, already have percentages (and fairly low ones) I guess people are already being spiteful, even though both games probably are better than the marks they've got so far. (obviously this is just my opinion)

(on the other hand, a lot of the classics have got really high marks, even though when it comes to reality, it is other biases pushing them up, as compared to some more recent games, they are pretty ordinary.)

I supose only time will tell, but as the stats showed before that there were a lot of "1" & "10" votes, I think people will still try to adjust the percentages  (not by giving the votes they think it deserves, but if it is higher than they think it should be they will be harsh, and vice versa)

It would probably help a lot if it were people outside this community voting, but I guess a lot of the percentage of people playing them are from within, and the others probably don't even know where they got the game anyway.

Anyway, it's just opinions, At least the system is now more complex, so people might think a little bit more, we can only hope.

That's Excellent Junc, and very generous, I hope this helps people out (including myself)

I'd love to see V2, but from your planing of the other chapters, That's a pretty big job you've got ahead, I really can't wait for it all, so I'm going into hibernation......

........are we there yet.

damnit, it doesn't work like that.

Good luck,

There's a suburb in Sydney called Mt. Colah, They have taps there that dispense a cross between Mountain Dew and Coca-cola. I thought they were joking at first, but they even have a fountain of it.

A few weeks ago I went to a wedding, and they had a chocolate fountain, It was awesome, you could drench anything you liked in it. eg. fruit, marshmellows, cake, beer. It was constantly running, warm rich belgian chocolate. Later on in the night people were filling up glasses of it. That's what I feel like filling the blue cup with at the moment.

could you use regions instead, you can copy the walkable areas straight into regions in the editor (there's a button you click on [note: if you already have regions on this screen it will wipe them]).

then choose player walks onto region, and set the objects in the script there.

I'd probably have coke in it, or pepsi, or water, or apple juice, or green cordial, or Beer, really it would totally be what I felt like at the time.

but to be honest I don't like drinking out of Mugs, I don't drink Tea or Coffee, so I never really use them. Plus I drink pleanty of fluids so I usually keep a drink topped up constantly & usually a bigger glass, like a pint glass.

And Peter, I agree broken glass doesn't do miracles for your gut.

And Mr. Hydeckle, Guinness is definately an acquired taste, but it also depends if you got it on tap or not, (and then the person behind the bar has got to know how to pour it) There's a fine art to it, and it takes a while. I've had some bad Guinness before, but it can also be Awesome.
I'd definately recommend trying it more than once. (but it's a harsh beer to drink a lot of in the one session) [I've heard it doesn't travel well either, {like literally a few Miles from the brewery} so I've probably never had the top notch stuff]

As for Fosters, you've probably already drunk more of it than me, but It's your choice trying that English shite.
Well, we export the shit (well the name anyway), and keep the good stuff here, except for VB, Tooheys New, XXXX, etc

I can't spoil the secret now, but Abraham Simpson was close.

Wow, you don't realise how many cammands there are until you see them all written down in 1 spot.

Good job SSH, I can see that coming in handy for reference

I don't know about every browser being faster than IE, It's just as fast for me as any & it loads up instantly rather than taking a few seconds when you first open it.

If it's marginally slower, I don't really notice it, nor does that little amount of time effect my life. but yes Paste and go in Opera gives it the cleverest idea ever (and it was staring them all right in the face)

Cool Squinky, you seem to be always working on something (except Fry2)

Looks like a cross between Rogermonkey  Fryinstagame

Good luck & enjoy

To be honest I don't know which browser I prefer, but I lean towards Opera, It's hard to design websites to account for them all, and the fact of different resolutions, font sizes, Whether you're computer is set to Large, Small or Custom size fonts, and other personal Browser settings.

When I was doing webdesign a few years ago, I used to think that IE was the easiest to design for & a challenge to make it work in Netscape etc, most people didn't consider the other browsers, but I think in the last few years, they are getting easier to get everything matched up, but I could be wrong.

These days I've been switching around with browsers just to see any advantages, but to be honest, IE with Google toolbar is just as good as any, I really don't know what people complain about, the only valid reason is you don't like microsofts monopolisation (fair enough though)

I don't like the Mouse gesture crap either, There's little things about Opera that I like eg. Paste and go, the best thing since Paste

I'll just stick with them all, including IE

I just found this

http://www.geocities.com/mmremake2003/

and remembered this thread

It's in Spanish, so maybe Farlander or another Spanish AGSer, or someone who knows some spanish can fill us in.

The last update seems to be may last year so maybe it's not still happening but it looks good.

I think it's being made in AGAST

I just realised that I hadn't commented on this game yet, even though I saw it when It was first posted.

It seems like a great idea, I always like the idea of being the bad guy. I like the touchups on the G4Gvga backgrounds so far, and It seems like you've got a pretty good all round team going there.

just an observation on the screens you've joined, the one between the town entrance and the old ladies house, the angles of the buildings are a bit odd, but I guess it's hard to fix without redrawing both screens, It doesn't look bad & maybe it could just be spielbergs architecture, but it still looks great.

I look forward to seeing the outcome, I also noticed that you've got quite a following over at AGDI.

Good luck

see, I don't even follow who are the actors & directors, So who was that chick in it, I'm sure I could look it up (Scarlett Johansson [nice arse]), anyway, well done all the people involved, I was surprised Apprentice didn't get a mention.

Sofia Coppola is cute.

Well I thought she was in Lost in Translation, but she looked pretty ordinary when I saw her walk onto the red carpet.

But I loved those pink see through panties she was wearing in the movie, I just hope she had a whole bunch of them, cause it never seemed like she changed clothes.

It was an interesting movie, the first comedy (very slight romantic comedy, with just a lot of teasing, not much romance or comedy, left with a sickly girly happy feeling)

I haven't seen a lot of the movies so I can't really judge whether they were deserved, but I'm not big on relying on the results to choose what movies I'll see, although eventually I'll probably see them whether it be at the movies, dvd or tv.

I'd just like to see a comedy performance win Best Actor one day (I'm sure it's been done) but it seems you have to over act in a Drama to win (oh wait, that's what it's all based on)

The whole ceremony is over acted and really hard to watch, It's actually on Now in our Evening time. I already know the winners so I'll ignore it.

It's just a big party (industry) full of people that still think that it's like when you were coool in school, Well I guess it continues for them so they never grow out of it. Still having silly little relationships with who ever is popular at the time. It's quite sad really.

Anyway, I thought they'd save LOTR until the 3rd, as was predicted

Darth's 1st one, I was impressed by the look of it, and it's not too over the top, I feel the others are good in design layout, but a little faccid.

quote from Deltamatrix:
QuoteI'm having trouble applying the sunscreen.

I applied just after Larry jumps into the lifeboat but he still gets burned up. Says its not waterproof.

Yes, this is the same one I reported, It must be something to do with not applying sunscreen after you swim & when you try to apply it in the lifeboat it doesn't work (and that is in the time you are moving away from the ship, it says something like you apply sunscreen to your face and neck).

I still haven't managed to replicate anything! Deltamatrix, could you send me a savegame, or something? Or a recording?

I've still got a saved game from when this happened to me, I kept it just incase I had to upload it.

I don't have a server that I can hotlink from & the file is about 1.3MB, so I'll email it to you. Note: the save game is from the version before the patch.

Edit: I sent 2 emails to your hotmail, 1 was the save game at 1.3MB, then I realised that I should have zipped it, the 2nd one is 36.5KB

It could be possible that the cpu speed has something to do with it, cause I'm running a Pentium4 2.6Ghtz machine, and as I said, I couldn't make it when all I had to do was walk from the ticket booth to the walkway without stopping.

It must be hard programming anything on computers with the amount of different hardware, software, screen resolutions, cpu speed, font sizes etc, there are, to take it all into consideration is probably impossible to make perfect, I guess that's another reason there will always be bugs, cause what works fine on one machine, won't on another.

I also have a problem on my machine, which has been a confusing bug that CJ doesn't even know the reason behind yet. It involves skipping cutscenes, It does crash on my machine if I press ESC straight away to skip the intro in LSL2, but if I wait a few seconds before I press ESC it skips fine.

I have this problem on my machine in skipping a few cutscenes in LSL3 (and on my old machine & on others there's no problem), I haven't played many games with skippable cutscenes yet on my new machine, but I'm sure it's a consistent problem. I guess time will tell.

I haven't tried the patched version yet, but I didn't find anything wrong after the airport.

As far as the timer goes in the airport, It isn't possible at the 'default' speed to make it in time, even if you already have the pin and parachute (before you get the bomb and ticket), and get to the walkway as fast as possible (literally just walk there, including showing passport etc)

so the timer needs to give you more time. It does work if you adjust Larry's walking speed, but you should still have it at lerast so the default speed is possible.

I'll have a go at the patched version later to see if those bugs I emailed you are all fixed.

*as much as you'll hate doing it, I'd still recommend fixing up the cliff, I know it might be something to do with regions, I had some similar problems at the beach in LSL3, but after lots of tweaking you might be able to get it right. (remember that having something eg. a region or walkable area that is only a few pixels wide can cause problems in AGS especially on a bend where pixels diagonal to each other will probably be the culprits)

It is actually quite regular that you get stuck at this point (there is a few points that this happens on the second last turn) and you have to press ALT-X to exit, load the game and restore the closest game.

It is possible to avoid if you click the mouse in the right spots, but as you know exactly where to click (and I figured out where the best places to click were) it's probably hard to get stuck.

Over all, an Excellent conversion, and I noticed the reference to my up coming sequel.
