Thorougly enjoyed your game!
You really have a knack for writing witty and fitting dialog (particularly enjoyed that back and forth between grounded son and parents).
Great 70s/80s media culture setting & mood.

Hope to see more of you, keep at it!

Spoiler
Found some very minor spelling errors throughout  (e.g. "hapiness" instead of "happiness") and occasionally the syntax was a bit off. But all in all, great work!)

I think it's done so you can re-nominate if you want.  What I'm not sure about is whether what you nominate after your first set is added to what you've already nominated, or completely replaces it.
I'm still somewhat unsure about that point.

Just in case people want to add further nominations in one category or other in the next two hours, would this action render prior nominations void?
(Sorry in advance, if this has been clarified already and I simply overlooked it.)

Brilliant news! Really glad to hear you're back on it, cianty.

Your art style is still... ...nostalgorgeousatisfactofantastic!

'Might' suggests a less likely probability of you becoming a doctor, than 'may'.

Perhaps, that's the reason for your teacher to insist on 'may' (= as not to deliberately degrade
your own statement).

However, grammatically they are both interchangeable and both are 'proper' English in this instance.
Just expressing slightly different things:

I may become a doctor. // Certain connotation of somewhat more confidence.
I might become a doctor. // Not quite as likely of that happening.

General Discussion / Re: Free Steam keys!

Not a Steam key, but I still got this
gift link from our AGS Bake Sale II.

Ogon was kind enough to relinquish his package to me,
when I missed out on the deadline the 1rst time.

But since Ponch gave in to all our whining and did a second round,
I was able to puchase me own copy.

It includes this  sexy  collection of great games:

2034 A.C. II by Ponch
Beer! by Radiant
That Damn Dog by Tzachs
Blue Lobe Inc. by Baron

'You gotta be some frickin' hoser to not want those, eh!?'

Send me your PM already!!

I sincerely hope the X-Files are going to track back their roots, roughly the first three seasons.

Without explaining too much or showing too much ('the monster of the week' on a silver platter, as in later seasons)!

Ambivalent & open endings - credits roll - mystery maintained!
Leaving you with that feeling in your guts that you'd like to know more,
but on the other hand you enjoy that sweet & uneasy sensation of non-closure.

Is Chris Carter involved in this at all?

In some way connected:
ABSOLUTELY stoked about 'Twin Peaks' in 2016! (not meaning to derail this thread, but YAY! V ;-D V)

For those of you wanting to attend, but who might have
very restrictive firewalls:

Allowing 'AGS Awards 2014.exe' a connection by...

TCP protocol
Direction: Outbound
To remote adress: 217.174.240.177 (irc.agsarchives.com)
To remote port: 6667

...for example, should be all you need in order to access the Awards.

(I had to adjust my firewall in order to be able to connect during testing. Though people
more versed than me might be able to provide additional help/info.)

I knew my incredible laziness to change my avatar would pay off at some point! :-D

I'm afraid I'll be tucked up in bed this year. 5am. Too late to stay up and too early to wake up for on a work night.
Oh, come on Stu. It's a one time thing.
I've got to get up at 6am most days of the week, that's not far off. Just call in sick due to hangover! :=

@Snarky: If I am at home it is no prob to jump in again - just send me a line. (nod)

Yep, same here.
Sorry for being so late today - got the flu and fell asleep 15 min before testing commenced (...oh man, I feel like outing myself as 'Professor Hastings'!).

I'd definitely like to help out as well.
My 'plan' for Sunday is to wallow in sweet idleness anyway... :cheesy:

So Sunday at 15:00 GMT it is, then?

'Elementary! When you have eliminated the impossible,
whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth!

Excellent deduction work on your part, gentlemen! ;)
Crimson paved the way and nihilyst, with dogged pursuit, connected the do...dots.

The Hound it is. In lush Technicolor, a great treat for rainy days. Hammer managed to
gloss over the lack of funds with an impressive amount of atmosphere.
Watch it if you can *coughU-tubecough*!

Since it was kind of a joint venture, I'll leave it up to you guys to decide who's up next...

This wasn't supposed to be difficult or obscure at all.
Maybe the next one is more revealing?

  • A rather rare example where a production company garnered somewhat of a cult following.
  • My image on this forum is a clue (..and I'm not talking about me being a drunken lout! :P).

Sweet.

Next up:
(Sorry about the blurriness, it couldn't be helped.)

Edit: Uhh!? 8-0...Not even a wildcard or mock guess?! Not even you, Ponch!!?
A non-mocking Rumpus Room is almost blasphemous! Tss Tss (wrong)(wtf)...

Some hints:

  • The shot is from the prologue of the film (i.e. it's somewhat misleading)

  • Main character is not in the shot

  • Glorious Technicolor!

Is it perhaps Beau Travail (1999)?
#15

...as most of you probably know by now.
But just in case, for those who don't:

They've got some pretty decent offers on adventure games and several other genres.

The offer ends on Monday 9:59AM GMT.

Just got meself 'The Last Express' and the complete 'Quest for Glory' series for roughly 4 â,¬.

Happy belated birthday to fellow film afficionado Eric!

And a huge barrel 'o ginger grog for DKH. You know, the kind of acid brew that melts the bottom of blue cups. ;)
That'll get you back on your feet in no time!

Also, best wishes to Stupot, Nemo, bici, SunnyP and everyone else I might've missed in the last couple of weeks being away for work.

Unless you have a PayPal account already with a balance or a bank account connected you'll need a credit card yes, even if you create a PayPal account now and connect a bank account to transfer funds, it might take too long to make the transfer to get the bundle in time.
OK, got meself teh warez from that illegalink, which selmiak forwarded to me.

Despite paying with credit card, that darn 'pay up buddy' pirate site forced me to register an account with them.
It's compulsory, isn't it? (I loath those reimbursement pirate buddies, they want to know lotz 'n lotz, even when conducting fairly simple transactions)! Grrr!

Damn! My credit card won't be charged (with money) until monday. Is there any chance of an extension - is there?

Or I just send you the money in a paper bag, including a letter made up of cut out snipets from magazines...or the other way around...magazine-money, paper bag letter...?(!)  8-0

Appreciate the gesture. ;-D But since I did cheat & because I'm swamped with work ATM, let's declare it an open
thread, perhaps?

Anyone who always wanted to post one movie or another and wants to take her/his turn,
go for it!
