I saw this in an EB!

..but I had no money at the time. And when I went back I couldn't find it. And then the staff said they hadn't heard of it.

I'm going to try again because having a physical copy would be REAL cool.

Are you talking about 'Resonance' or 'Doctor Who', Jared?

If you were hinting at the former: http://www.wadjeteyegames.com/resonance.html

...Wadjet Eye Games is the only place where you're able optain the physical boxed copy of Resonance.
At the same time this is probably a great way to show some support! (*MAKE MORE GAMES LIKE RESONANCE!!*)

And hurry up, 'for God's sake', it's worth every damn penny!!!

General Discussion / Re: how far is too far...

Simple and complicated question at the same time. Great topic, Perkele2012!

That depends very much on the maturity & curiosity of your audience and their disposition
to 'enter on a journey' that might not always make them feel at ease.

And for me personally, it depends whether it's a provocation for the provocation's sake, or
if the overall vision will grant me new insights (very individual!) on certain topics, that are not my own.

Really have to think some more about this question... :) NICE!

  My thought exactly, CatainD!

No, but seriously, steptoe! WHAT are you???

Are you that sinister coin-slot machine in Ben 304's basement spitting out games upon
every blink of the eye and got a wifi extension now??!!

The game looks very good and I want to play it, but that left aside:
[If you're indeed human] Tell me what fuels your engine. *note-to-self/ well, that was contradictory for a change*
I want to have some!! :cheesy:

Looking forward to your game, steptoe! Sounds very twisted, in a good way...

WOW! Is it just me or is this screenshot literally oozing charm & atmosphere!

It has such a hypnotic quality, it gives you no choice but to stare at it with a faint smile on your face.
Perfection in itself!

Beat the ornate safe puzzle - yay!

Stuck now though...

I'd recommend to leave the blueprints for now, and follow up on Ray's contact. It'll become apparent later on why.

Spoiler
The city archive's *system* is more 'elaborate' than it might appear at first glance!

I don't know why I didn't ummm so much.  Maybe because I was laughing so much.  Out of all the podcasts I've done over the last couple weeks, this one is the only one that makes zero attempt to be professional, which makes it hilarious and easy going.

@Vince
Sorry about that. I should've added waaaay more smileys to my last post. (unlike Tabata, I really don't like smileys! :P <-)
I hope, I didn't come across the wrong way or tick you off or something along those lines!

When I posted after listening to the podcast, it was very much 'infected by that enthusiasm' (Ascovel put it very nicely) of you guys
having fun and in the overall spirit of the interview.
It was intended as -12% criticism and as 150% pure nonsense (...of the Dualnames variety!) and didn't deserve any explanation about your
'umms' or not 'umms' in interviews , much less a reasoned one (personally, I'd be a nervous wreck not being able to say anything at all!).

All I really wanted to say was, great podcast of everyone involved and you can't help but smile all the way through while listening to it...

Hillarious interview and great seance(!) guys!

But why was everyone so quite, when Vince
announced he was going to make an "Ego-shooter"? - I was rolling on the floor laughing!!

By the way, Vince, that's the first interview that I heard of you, where you weren't
using as many 'umms', what's up with that?
I thought that was going to be your quirky trademark as all powerful
big-time game designer!? :P

But seriously, great, great interview all three of you!

Stunning artwork, doimus!!
I love where your are going with this, good sir.
Especially in combination with your setting (Snarky summed it up
real nice!). I'm sold!

Should you be in need of beta-testers, send me a
PM! Anytime! I literally do NOT care how long from now that
will be! :cheesy:

Oh, wait until I post my first "works in progress"!
You guys might already want to apply for a new domain and not tell me!

I think Ben, Ghost and Khris make some valid points which I very much concur with.

We should very much take heed of slightly self-righteous observations about "the new generation"
(...remember, some of our parents used to do the exact same thing!!!) :)

And Khris point, that the dynamics of the 'new' medium might influence
a) how much projects of an seemingly "imperfect" or inferior nature are exposed to a wider public
b) our perception of those
..is very well justified, I think.

All that aside, don't you secretly admire the SHEER amount of energy behind all that 'illusion of grandeur'?
I do! Up to a point of almost jealousy, because I seem to have lost this seemingly unconditional 'spark'
of wanting to create something, head first!

My actual point is this:

"For now:
The process is more important than achievement.
The questions are more valuable than the answers.
The attempts are more admirable than successes."

From the notes of Richard Linklater

In my experience, there are simply lots of people who are completely unable to leave their own point of view.

Could that be us (?), while bashing and making fun of someone who's young and simply on a ROLL (!) No matter how much seemingly against the grain in our 'mature and knowledgeable' eyes?

Spoiler
but if he wants to keep it secret why is taking a five year old letter with him?
...but I was not fast enough to read it all...
[close]

Because it's sender was very, very dear to him! Interestingly, one player posted on the Wadjet Eye Forum today, that Johnsen
gives a fairly good (however subtle) clue about Bennet during their initial conversation. So subtle actually
that I didn't get that hint (not even in 7-8 playthroughs!) while testing Resonance.
Spoiler
The commentary mode grants a very interesting insight into Bennet's character and that letter.

Very neat, Eric! Very Raymond Chandler-ish. (really kind of miss your work in progress thread, by the way)

Basically I want to get my hands on all the projects in this thread.
Very, very inspiring guys!

This thread is one of the most interesting and most frustrating ones! (realising I still got nothing to show for/ CURSE YOU BEN!)

Left click on each fuse (while in inventory). That should solve all of your questions.
And LOL for the "conFuse"!! :cheesy:

Yeah, thanks.  We've had a few people point that one out to us.  We'll probably be releasing a new version eventually that fixes that and the other handful of bugs we've seen.  That one is definitely the most serious bug we've gotten, though.

Is there any way to prevent the game from crashing, or do I have to wait for a new version?   :undecided:

The bug only occurs switching characters in this scene.
If you do not switch back to Ed and just stay with Anna seems to do the trick for now. Hope you've got a save where you didn't switch to him yet.

Looking grand Theo! I'll get it one way or another.

Why don't you just sell "options" on the whole series! (That thought kept lingering
while watching your developement of TJD and might sound like twaddle, but I'm quite serious).

I for my part won't think twice about such an opportunity. Pre-buy the whole series directly off
SkyGoblin amd get it some day...makes me sound like an idiot, now that I come to think of it...

Awesome sprite!

Only the proportion of the central torso area seems a tad off :
- Maybe try to lower the waist line somewhat. I think this will also fix the pelvis/crotch area issue that Anian was refering to.
- You could extend his breast muscles a bit further down.

Other than that, Anian already mentioned contrast, love it!

And what a mental & emotional rollercoaster ride Resonance is!

HUGE respect & congrats to Vince, Shane, Nikolas, Nauris, Janet, Dave, Deirdra, the awesome voice actors
& all past contributers!
Thanks for making this exceptional playing experience possible!
