I used my banks debit card thingy, they apparently don't do that sort of thing....At least I don't think so.

You should also threaten them with reporting them to the police and your district attorney for fraud. Also tell them that you've already talked to your lawyer and had her start working on paperwork to file a proper suit. Mention kindly that you won't be talking about $400 then.  ;)  (I noticed that when you threaten companies with legal action, a woman lawyer scares the hell out of them.)

Also, try talking to your bank and try them stop the payment on your card. And - if you can do so - avoid using debit cards to buy stuff on the net.

I used to buy my stuff from a company called jncs.com, I had a very good experience with them, in case you need to look around for new hardware.

If someone suggests something called Poser you should slap them.

This may be a silly question, but what's wrong with Poser? I did have it in mind to use it for characters as I use Rhino3D for backgrounds I'm working on; the 3D figures would go nicely with each other.

This sounds like an awful lot of complication to me. It's not like the AGS scripting language is going to be implemented by multiple vendors and they need a common ground to build the same language.  :)

Since I haven't participated in the forums that much, I don't now what others will think but to me the forums seem like a good place to discuss language issues, especially since CJ is checking it all the time and ultimately he is the one who implements/discards things.

No, it doesn't HAVE to be all-capitals, but it'll make reading your own code much easier to read, since you can just differentiate between variables and defines simply by looking at them. Most programmers use capital defines in other languages, too (like C/C++, etc.)

Using capital defines also gives you more name combinations (since the language is case-sensitive, so 'ltunic' and 'LTUNIC' are different to the compiler. This way you can have both symbols for different purposes and you can still tell them apart easily.

If you don't like them, however, you can type it differently.

Babar,

I think the only way for that is to convert your picture to 256-color and do the transformation that way.  Copy the picture you want to rotate into an other picture, convert to indexed color, transform it and then paste it back to the original true-color picture.

AFAIK, there is no option to tell PS to not to alias edges after transformations. (I may be wrong, though, since that's again something I didn't need before, so I never tried to solve it.)

dasjoe,

Thanks, that was it. I had anti-aliasing turned off but I guess it was on when I made the selection and saved it. When I loaded it back onto the picture, anti-aliasing was already off, but the selection had blurred edges. I didn't know this about Photoshop, since I rarely used saved selections before.

Thanks again!

General Discussion / Help with Photoshop...
Tue 23/11/2004 19:07:10
Hi all,

I'm trying to use Photoshop to create the walkable areas/regions/etc for backgrounds, but when I make a selection and fill it, PS creates a smooth edge at the edge of the selection. So if I use light blue as the fill color, there is a transition from light blue to darker at the edge of the selection (~3 pixels inside and outisde the selection edge.) This drives me crazy, I cannot understand how can PS draw outside the selection.

Do you have any idea how to force PS to only fill inside the selection and do not create a blurred edge?

Thanks,

Hmmmm, I'd say drop the non-AGS specific boards (like critics lounge) and move them over to Adventure Developers.com, which will balance the active users a bitÃ,  ;D
--Erwin

I think it's better to keep everything in one place. Critics' Lounge is an integral part of AGS, getting rid of it would be a bad idea.

CJ: how much would be a dedicated server per year? Let's see the numbers (if you have any) and see if donations would cover that. After that we can still go back to decide whether to shut down part of the forums.

(I'm a new user on the forums but I'm following it for more than a year. Techinal forums, game announcements and the Critics' Lounge were the main reason I registered.)

I'd make a donation, too, however, I'm not interested in merchandise. Is there a "Make a donation" link somewhere that I missed (like Paypal or something)?

YOke,

Thank you very much, they do work with AAPro! This helped me out a great deal.

Thanks again,

Hi all,

(This was originally posted in Critics Lounge, I moved it here.)

I recently dug up an ancient CD of mine and found Autodesk Animator Pro on it, but it doesn't have a FONT folder (I remember having them loooong time back, but they're gone in the Zip file that I found.) I'd really appreciate if someone could send me the font files for AAPro (not the program, just the .FNT files.) If someone has these files, please upload them somewhere where I can access it or email me. My email is xxbbcc@freemail.hu, it can take ~4 MB-s.

Thanks a lot!
