I'll have to check it out. DownloadHelper has lost a bit of functionality when a few sites updated their streaming/flash players.

PS-Does it work on Hulu? Been wondering if there is one, but I also have looked that hard either....

I use DownloadHelper to pull Youtube videos, and Myspace music, and other online assets.
Also have SessionManager to autosave my tabs when I close (I browse with 10+ tabs alot of the time)

Well, there's other ways to display dialog so that you can use the Semi-transparency. Check out some modules, or even check out the manual entries on custom dialog rendering (somewhat-advanced scripting, so you may want to wait a bit).

[Edit]: Off the top of my head, some modules you might check out are: CustomDialogGui, KADS-Kick Ass Dialog System, GuiPortrait.

I haven't used these modules, just read through the threads once upon a time. But with some modification I think either of them can do what you need.

A couple notes:

-If it's semi-transparent (i. has a alpha channel) it will ask you when you import.
-I don't think speech portraits (sierra style) allow transparency. A way to test this is to use one of its sprites somewhere else that does support transparency (object, character, etc).
-TGA's are no longer supported, from 3.0 when CJ switched the importing routines.

There was a change in supported file formats between 2.72 and 3.0, at which point PCX and TGA were lost, and JPG and TIF were added instead. This was as a result of AGS switching from custom file import code to using the standard Windows file import routines.

2 ways:

1) Put the import line in the GlobalScript.ash (Ctrl-H is a keyboard shortcut that jumps straight to it)
OR
2) Delete the declaration line and export line, and create a new variable using the Global Variables Pane (in the tree to the right). Right click, choose 'create new variable', name it, choose int, and set the initial value to 10.

And yes, even if you're new you have a great attitude so we're very willing to help. Welcome to the forums!

Actually, I wouldn't mind this for a top-down battle system I was working on.... But I did a feasible workaround using very specific walkable areas.

Wouldn't it be the (non-existent) 5th sprite that it's 'skipping'? Since it's being used as a walk, you only see left-stand-right-left-stand-right-and so forth.

[Edit]: Too late. My internet's acting up...

OOOooooh, I like that the they're keeping the game exactly the same, rather than trying to change it so much to appease new audiences.

I take it no one here has played 'Flight of the Amazon Queen' on the iPhone. Its free and its a taste of what a quick port of the game to the iPhone can do.

I think its just stupid for someone to say it can't be done on the iPhone. Thats what many said about first person shooters. Now that Wolfenstein Classic came out, sky's the limit.

That goes back to saying that the smartest move AGS can make is to create the ability to port or creating a project for the iPhone.

You're talking about a Port (ScummVM, I assume?) which is totally different than what BOYD and the other posters where saying. If it's being developed for the iPhone then it will have completely different gameplay.

That's also in the manual, not just on the wiki.

You need 2 parameter to called that function. A GUI, and a MouseButton.

But why are you exporting/importing that function into another script? It would make more sense to create a do_you_want function and then call that in the button's OnCliick function, and wherever else it is needed.

Object.Clickable is what you're looking for.

Quote from: The ManualThis is useful if you are using the object for visual effects and don't want it to be clicked on by the player.

Have you correctly marked the 'hotspot' (ie. where the mouse clicks) on the inventory item correctly? That seems like it may mess things up (especially since you see the mouse.x/y results immediately in the rep_exec)

Quote from: Trent R on Sat 30/05/2009 04:03:29I've heard there are so many confusing plot twists and holes, but an enjoyable movie nonetheless.

Plot holes?  I don't think so.  But anytime you deal with time-travel plots there's always going to be those that find some kind of hole.  As far as confusing ... I must admit it took some thinking on my part to put it all together (again because of the time-travel aspect).  However ... I like movies that make me actually use my brain rather than a lot of the drivel hollywood puts out every month accommodating the brain-dead masses who only want Michael Bay brainless crap films.  ** shrugs **
I misspoke, I don't mean plot holes, but my friends were indeed confused.

The first block is above the on_mouse_click, the second is inside of it. It is called for every single hotspot you click on.

I saw a really cool documentary of a similar case of three of the "Lost Boys", the thousands of male children refugees from Sudan. A few came to the US to live a new life and it followed them for a few months. I think it was called something like "God Forget Us"....

[Edit]: God Grew Tired of Us, it was really good and I saw it at the Sundance Film Festival. Unfortunately I've never heard of your lady Meowster...

Quote from: AnubisArc999 on Fri 29/05/2009 23:54:03I will finally add that I really admire the developers of AGS for even making this program.
There's only one. Pumaman (or Chris Jones, he's one and the same). :D

We worship him here on the forums.
