I just figured out the quick-edit button on the forums.

Who knows? Al Lowe has some files on his page, so does Christy Marx (she even has whole games).

Where can I delete the search history? I have stupid things in there such as "on_ev", figuring I could delete them by pressing the delete key while selecting from the pull-down.

I assume that it's stored somewhere in the install folder... right?

Another thing I noticed. I have high-res coordinates in scripts turned on. When I use FaceLocation, the ~box shows high-res, but Walk and WalkStraight shows low-res (Start move to x, y). I don't know about other functions, as I've only used these two so far.

Not too much if you understand matrices. (plural form of matrix for all you non-geeks)

I'm at the link, but I don't see anything, just the site's menu and a banner ad. Am I missing something?
Same for me.... Well, for those still looking for it:

[Edit]: Dang, I was gonna try and upload it, but my comp won't let me. Stupid video converting software. I'll try again ASAP.

You are an idiot.

I feel your pain.  :(

Less like a broken image? Agreed. You're background is very broken Supernorn. Shame on you! [/sarcasm]

Can't wait for a new character design to show us all.

Yeah, I was a little mean.... :(

Metroid - If you don't seem to be able to figure things out for yourself, try figuring out simpler things. If you still want to make an RTS in AGS, check out the sticky in this forum on making RPGs. There might be enough in there to give you some ideas.

If you want an easy way to make an RTS, find a different engine. AGS is expansive, but it's designed for AGs.

Granted, I'm slightly going against my own advice, because I'm making a RPG/Adventure hybrid for my first game. I think I'll do okay though because 1)I'm confident in my coding abilities from other languages, 2)It's still has AG elements, 3)I've been playing RPGs for eleven-tenths of my life.

(Hopefully that was nicer! :D Good luck Metroid)

I started with 2.6 forever ago, then moved to 2.72, then took a long hiatus. In May I stated using Visual C# and XNA, and when I came back a few months ago, the 3.0 editor looks just like Visual Basic. It was wonderful!

PS-If scripting seems too daunting at first, densming has some excellent videos on Youtube. They were even nice for me as a refresh course.

Can you remove the light gray outline from the "mail" label? My eyes keep being drawn to it! =P
Just about to say that myself.

Perhaps files can be read through only once at first, and then store which line is the EOF. Then once that is changed, flip a flag to tell that a new EOF needs to be found.

Just spouting crap here, don't know if it's possible.

PS-Just noticed this for a Les Mis game, very interesting. I'll have to watch for this...

That is truly a wonderful game, and a befitting opening sequence (and if you skip it, you start up in a dumpster).

Babar's post reminded me of this picture:

Love it!

-Looks fine without the noised grass.
-Like the new guy. :D
-You lose the Writer's face in the spring bg. The pink faces on the pink bg look fine.
-Will these be long scrolling rooms? Will the foreground trees scroll too, but slower?

I think nowadays more and more people are turning to Macs (why? I can't fathom. I can't stand the things unless I'm using Final Cut). I doubt many people will still have Win98.

So why not have 3 or 4 files with 1000 lines each?

Don't forget to code in the FPS into it as well. Then it'll be a Real First Strategy Time Person Shooter Game.

At first I wasn't sure if the += and -= operators wouldn't work, so I checked in the manual. But they're not there!

However, they do work (because they didn't show a compile error and I used Display checks). So how come they're not a part of the manuals entry on all of the other operators? There's even the bitwise ones included.

~Trent
PS-This seems like a Beginner question, so I posted here.
[Edit]: Requesting that this gets moved to the tech to become an official suggestion.

I actually had a load of questions for him and only got to ask about 1/3 of them--I didn't want to keep him too long.  But that's only because he was giving me such substantial answers that I didn't want to interrupt him.
Do you think he'd be willing to answer them if you sent the remainder by email? Even if they aren't as enthusiastic, I'd still like to read his answers and he can answer them at his own pace.
