PS jpcr:
The colors of the hotspots, walk-behinds, regions, etc have nothing to do with each other. They only exist to help you differentiate them.

Personally, I think a simple color change would help 'update' the forums a bit. Throw in a little bit of the dark blue that's now in the 3.0 editor. Even replacing the banner at the top to reflect the new cup graphic (or even a collection of all the cups, including the sprite0)

Also, there's something weird about the pavement, but I can't really tell what. Maybe because it's straight, while the house is on a small hill.
I think it's also the coloring, because most driveways are made of concrete, not asphalt. (at least mine is)

Maybe it's just me, but it looks like he's arching his back backwards, which then puts his shoulders too far behind the plane of his body.

I haven't checked, but did you follow the perspective lines (like shown earlier in the thread)?

1) I would suggest drawing a piece of the hallway instead of a black door.
2) Drawing something to fill part of the window, whether it because a fence 20 ft away, or a bush right up next to the house. It has the same problem as the door, in that a blank blue rectangle looks out of place.
3) You may (or may not) want to show less of the ceiling. Ceilings are fairly boring, although the light fixture is a nice touch.

It's good work, but it can be made better. Best of luck to you in the future and I can't wait to see what you complete for your class.

I figured as much, but thanks for the reply nonetheless.

I couldn't find it, but can you zoom in on a GUI you're currently working on? Similar to zoom for rooms?

I assume that there isn't one, because GUI's are fairly simple, so a zoom function isn't needed.

1) It's a standard in QFG to show the the Hero Portrait. Link Link Link

2) In the inventory tab, using items on the portrait will have the same effect as using them on the Ego sprite. In the case of weapons, you'll be able to equip them when using them on the portrait.

The arm on the lift still looks a little stiff IMO.
I like the new feet though, the first animation made it look like he was stepping on point.

The first screen doesn't bother me, but the keyboard one seems too busy to me. Perhaps if you split the commands per page in half, and have a total of three. (Does that come across correctly?)

As with the colors, the only one that bothers me is the pink. It's just annoying to look at. You could also try darkening the green. The blue is just fine because it is very subdued already.

Also, let us see the tops of some of the buildings like the inspiration. If you're going for the same perspective (high in sky), then obviously the white buildings aren't the tallest, so let us see the tops or maybe some edges.

With the mouth, I think it looks generally fine in the front picture. However, the side looks like he's biting/eating his own lip, so it's distracting. Perhaps that can be solved by defining the jaw more like ShonenAiGuy said.

I liked the first version better, at least with the radiating light coming out from the center.

So I'm working on making a 'Quest For Glory' style game, and I decided that I wanted a fullscreen GUI for the Inventory, Options, and such.

So I went into Photoshop and just started to create a basic design for it. It's like tabbed browsing, and I wanted to get people's opinions on it. Not about the art (cause I'm not an artist), but more about the design and how you would feel about it in a game.

Have you tried using the 'Export Transparent Image' from the Help pull down?
Alternatively, you could try uploading your psd so that we can work with it personally?

Awesome images, but have yet to play the demo through...

With the 'Marine' outfit, I actually like how it looks except for the hat. I think that if the hat was white, it may tie it in better.

Excellent, excellent, excellent!

For comments, I'd have to disagree with Matti. I think the eyes are the right size, but I think they should be moved inward. With the hair creating such a narrow column/frame for the face, the eyes lose a *bit* of focus. And let's face it, they're one of the prettiest things about women.

PS- Do you have a tablet laptop? Or board?

I'd ask Guybrush for the prices of his fine leather jackets.

You edited your post with "Khris was faster than me >:( ". Does that mean that his way is better or easier or what?
