Any plans for a sequel?
I'm still contemplating the idea. I can certainly improve on it with the information and feedback I have received here. Just need to think about improvements in other areas rather than just a continuing or fresh story.

Do you know that you have two entries in the database for this game? (/2033 and /2034)
Considering the link you give on this page is for /2033, can we assume that /2034 was made by mistake and can be deleted?
Yeh, I don't know why it created two database entries. /2034 can be deleted.

I really liked this. A good story and atmosphere. I loved the grainy effect. I don't think I've seen that done before. I did notice a few of the glitches that mandle & shadow have already covered but they didn't detract from the overall experience. Great!

Hi Athanor. I was inspired to make this game by many factors. Inspiration, ideas and influences include movies like Dead end, Wrong turn & Alfred Hitchcock's The birds. Also Midsomer murders. Games like Vorago and Barrow hill. The british rural landscape was chosen because that's where I live so I didn't have to travel far for photography to do the backgrounds. The similarity between the title Barrow hill and Rabbit hill is complete coincidence. Rabbit hill is a title I've had in mind for a number of years. The history surrounding Rabbit hill was inspired by folklaw of Saxonbury tower (local to me) and formed both the story and backstory from my imagination. Check out the credits in game for more information.
Thank you for showing an interest in the game.

Excellent! Congratulations on finishing it :) Downloading now, been looking forward to it!
Thanks Shaun

Shadow1000: Thank you for such informative feedback. Regarding your first point in the complaint time section (SPOILER ALERT!):
Spoiler
While I was watching someone playtesting it, they had the same problem with exits in the toilet. I should of had alarm bells ringing then, instead of thinking it was just that person missing the obvious.

(POSSIBLE SPOILER!):
Spoiler
Also regarding 'the thing' you had to do a certain number of times to trigger progress: I fully intended to reduce the amount of times you had to do it by one before release but I totally forgot about it until you reminded me here...darn it! Also the fact that you missed it by one backs up exactly what I had thought.

Thank you so much for taking the time to play it and for the positive and helpful feedback.

NickyNyce, CaptainD & Stupot+: Thank you for your kind comments.
Mandle: I was a little apprehensive after release because you never know how people are going to respond to it. So knowing that even one person thoroughly enjoyed it has made it all worthwhile. Thank you ever so much.

A couple, bored of the same summer drive to visit their family, decide to take a detour through the countryside where they are involved in an unfortunate accident.
While walking to find help they stumble upon Rabbit hill. A small fictional Hamlet located deep in the heart of the Sussex countryside in England.

This is looking like fun. Good luck with development.
Update: Just played the demo... it is fun!
Spoiler
Just to let you know... at the end of the demo, I clicked on the characters to vote on steam greenlight and got stuck in the demo. It did go to the steam page but I had to CNTRL-ALT-DEL to task manager to exit the demo.

It looks nice. :)
But um... why are all the screenshots so dark? Is it supposed to be set at night? Because those photos are clearly taken during the day.

'Most' of the game is supposed to be set at dusk. You're right, I took most of the photographs during daylight but my photoshop skills are limited at best. It's also meant to encourage a dark, moody atmosphere. It's all experience and learning as I go.

Hi all. Just a quick update...
I'd say I was about 90% done now. I can't give an exact date as I'm just doing what I can with what little free time I have, but it's getting close!
In the meantime, here's a few more screenies:

Not decided on the font yet... or the brightness contrast of the inventory. May be some tweaking involved:

The only map of the game area can be found in the form of a tourist information leaflet:

Looks interesting. That last screen is particularly pleasing to my eyes.
For a moment I thought that was an AT-AT in the background on the second screenshot. ;)

This certainly is looking like a treat for my eyes. Love the artwork.

Just had a browse through your website. Some great stuff that may come in very handy in future projects.
Thank you for sharing your work with us.

QuoteI've also made some more progress (way more to be honest) with this project, but nothing I released to the public yet.
Expect a PM soon :)

This is very intriguing indeed.

I downloaded from the link a few posts up about an hour ago to check it out. I messed up some of the script while playing around and decided to download it again a few minutes ago and suddenly the link is broken...What's the chances of that!

Edit: link working again this morning <scratches head>.

After a few weeks, before Christmas, of feeling uninspired and demotivated with this project. I'm now back, ploughing on with it.
I have encountered a slight problem though. Although I had taken plenty of photographs during the summer months for use in designing the backgrounds, some of them just didn't fit in the way I wanted them too in some of the woodland scenes. Unfortunately I can not just go out and take some new shots around the woods of Sussex as it is now winter and there's no leaves on the trees. I can not justify halting all development until summer just to take some new shots so I've had to resort to using a few google images.

I've also updated the website where you can get a small peak at a couple of other screens showing one of the mini-games and part of a puzzle: https://www.two-tales.com/

Thank you CaptainD.

Stupot+: Most of the location photography was done in East Sussex. Around the Mayfield, Blackboys and Burwash area with a few trips further afield for specific shots. There will be alot more information about the locations in the in-game credits.

I was hoping to have this done for Halloween but alas, it was not to be. There is still quite a bit to do on it so I thought I would post a preview now instead. Should be done sometime shortly after Christmas/new year.

Khris:

I tried the same icon that you tested, saved and compiled the project and it worked!
I then replaced the icon with the one I was trying to use, saved and compiled again and now mine works.
I'm still confused as to why any icon I tried before that didn't work but at least it is working now.

Confused but grateful, thank you.
