It makes you think what would happen here if CJ would disappear for as long time as Danny did... scary really. :-X

Okay, it's started. Go see it in the Competitions-section.

What's this about:

  • Participants will draw a comicstrip following the given theme and rules.
  • You are allowed to use any technique in your drawing. But if you use computer you are not allowed to copy and paste ready pictures.
  • Each competition will last 15 days.
  • The starter of each competition will decide the winner.
  • The winner will decide the theme for the next competition.

Ok, this is the first comic competition so let's take a theme which everyone is probably familiar with.

    AGS Game Characters for Sail

I think the title explains it all. All the characters in the comic must be from some game made with AGS. The happening place is a boat or a ship. Or anything that travels on water. Other than that, I give you free hands. The style is free. Use your imagination.

Hmm. I think it's better with the belt than without it.

It's very good, I like it. I'm using kind of a same style in the characters I draw.

I'm overjoyed. I'll start the competition soon, so get your pencils ready!

You can change the translation from the winsetup. And this kind of thing really doesn't go to completed games announcements.

Is there really nobody else who's interested in drawing comics? :-\

Make a new GUI and check the Dialog options on GUI -button from the General settings. Then write the number of the gui to it.

Edit: Sorry, misunderstoodÃ,  the question.

I'm sorry. I wrote that first post pretty fast so it may not be very clear.

QuoteWill each contestant draw their own comicstrip?
Yes.
QuoteWill they continue on eachother's, or each draw a new one?
Each will draw their own new one.
QuoteWill they be humourous, with punchlines, or adventurous? Will the contestants come up with the script, the graphics, or both? Will they be ags-oriented or not?
Well, that all really depends on the current theme of the contest. As an example if the theme is christmas, then you of course have to draw a comic related to christmas. And the one who makes the rules can decide all the other details like "The maincharacter of the comic must be santaclaus" or "It must be somehow related to Monkey Island".

Of course there can be sometimes that the script is already made and the contestants just need to draw it, but I think it would be much more fun if they came up with it theirselves, following the theme and rules.

And for the AGS-oriented question, that also depends on the current rules.

So all and all this is pretty much alike MAGS for its rules.

I really wonder why I haven't thought about this before. I got a cool idea for a Cartoon/Comic competition for the Competitions & Activities section. The rules would be same kind of like all the contests there. Different theme every time (last winner decides) and about 2 weeks deadline would sound good.

Now what I'm asking is that are there enough people who would find this interesting, and would it be good enough to put in the Competitions forum.

Couldn't resist ;)

Excuse me strazer for this stupid question, but how do you exactly do it? Cause I have a 16 mb avi file in the game folder and I don't want others to see it. How do I use that recource splitting thing?

Next he tells us he drew it with MSPaint using mouse and his left foot. That's why he thinks it's crappy.

That's just great man! Just great! I love it. Wonderful! :D I especially like the way you've made the hat.

Totally waiting for the game!
#1437
Wow! Sounds interesting and sure looks good. Torrenting...

I wonder why Joyce hasn't registered yet. I mean he HAS been really big help in the Hints ant tips -section already.
