I thought you don't need to use Wait? I thought using ... (without the quotes) automatically makes the character pause for a second?

That only works in dialog script, not with Character.Say()... I think.

I personally really liked the 3D-character/photorealistic background mixture.

I haven't finished the game yet but some things that should be fixed:

- Don't make the character's say "..." when they're being quiet. It looks really stupid. Use the Wait()-function instead.

- Use a pointer cursor in the main menu (first room) and disable cursor mode cycling for that room. Makes it seem a bit more professional.

- The way inventory item graphics were stretched in the current inventory item -button in the main GUI looked really ugly.

- I personally think it's a good idea to hide GUIs during at least the intro cutscene and any other major cutscenes.

So far the game feels very atmospheric and adventurous. Writing is good and so is music. Some of the graphics are very inconsistent though so you might wanna work on that, although it's not a major problem.

This sounds very adventurous and somewhat epic (not the "LOL EPIC!!!1" kind). The visuals are very good! I'm getting good vibes from this one.

Good job so far and good luck with the rest of it!

I once drank a bottle of beer in under two hours. Well, half a bottle.

Okay, so it turns out Ishmael can't go after all.

This started out very promising. Lots of people were showing interest and were excited about this. Now apart from me the only attendee is Zabnat and he's only available for a couple of days. Me going there for a week before that alone is just a bit absurd and I don't see the point in travelling all the way for a just the weekend so...

Sorry to say this but Lapaset is cancelled. :(

If only more of you would have spoken up...

Great to see so much effort put in the visuals in a Monkey Island fangame. Most of them are just full of ripped graphics. Is there going to be original music in this game or are you going to reuse music from the original games?

I hope the gameplay and user interface will be as good as the visuals. :)

I also hope you make a well proof-read English translation for this once it's finished!

Best of luck with it! Can't wait to play this.

You do realize this thread is 6 years old, right? If I may be so bold as to make a suggestion, check the dates before posting.

1) it's quick like a fox.

I used Opera for a long time before I switched to Firefox and I hated how much slower FF is. I also prefer Opera's user interface but the thing about Opera is that some modern websites are simply not designed to work in it and sometimes the cache system messes things up. They're coming up with updates and fixes every now and then though and with Opera 10 on its way I'm thinking of switching back.

Monkey, who do you mean when you say "We all know it was the US gov"?

If you mean "we", as "a group of retards" then, it' s okay.

Or "we" as in "those of us get that monkey is joking but play along nontheless". DOWN WITH THE GOVERNMENT!

Heh, I think this year will break the AGS meeting record in quantity. :P Good luck with where ever you end up going with this.

What you're saying is true, Anian. It sucks when people get mad at students who are just learning. What I'm saying is also a cold hard fact: They just started learning to drive -> They're bad drivers. It's logical! \o/

Come and live in my pocket pabbol, we will drive around the world together.

Driving school students are the worst drivers. And those who don't have a driver's licence. But it's hard to say really, since I've only ever seen a fraction of the whole world.

I've slightly updated the first post with the confirmed dates and places. Could everyone who's certain about coming please post a confirmation here now?

I would like to see more AGS games turned into movies / TV shows / books.

This is how I'm going to see Babar from now on. Always.

I like it.

I could certainly hear the uniqueness. Very artsy fartsy! Although music isn't exactly my area of expertise I still appreciate interesting musical experiments. Well done!

Google should add a feature where you paste a picture into the seach box and then it finds matching or similar pictures in Google Images...

...then they should give me a fuck ton of money for the idea.

It's not a new idea though. In fact, I read somewhere that Google has already had plans of implementing such a feature in the future. I hope they do, too.

There's also a service called TinEye but it's not very useful due to its small index of images.

and The Great Stroke Off which is another humorous game made for OROW.

That one was actually made for ATC.

I must jump the DDDDD bandwagon too, as I've already sent some brown nosey fan mail to the author some time ago, hoping to hear from the sequel. ;D

DDDDD was and is still one of my favourite AGS games.

2. Email Samantha's local MP and Gordon Brown, detailing your concerns for Samantha and demanding action to be taken ASAP, before it is too late.

This will not help. I'm sure they both already know about it what with it being plastered all over the news and all.

That's just not the point. The point is that the more pressure you apply to people considering problems like this the more time and resources they will use to solve them. Theoretically. Either that or they get a nervous breakdown and commit suicide.
