I don't think it looks weird ingame with 7 vs 8 frames

Actually, if you look really really closely, it creates a sort of a limping-effect. Although that might fit the character quite well. But then I think it should be included in all the other views aswell. Ergo, either add one frame to the downcycle or remove one from the sidecycle.

But then, if it doesn't bother you I'm ok with it. :)

I'm just gonna say that I thought this movie was brilliant! Although I didn't read through the thread, I'm sure someone has already covered the main reasons for why it's brilliant so I'll just leave it at that. :=

First of all, in the upwards image his head looks like it's horribly tilted to his back. I think it should be more like this:

I love the animating but the problem here seems to be that the first walkcycle has 7 frames, the side animations have 8 frames and the last one has 6 frames, whereas the framecount should be equal in each animation, in this case 8 frames for all of them. Otherwise it won't be consistent and will look strange.

These issues aside, I really like this sprite! Well done!

I found it interesting even though I'm nowhere near going commercial myself. I also hadn't seen the 2007 video yet so thanks for the links!

This looks excellent! I just wanted to say that. Can't really come up with any more constructive comments. :D

Please finish this, it looks like a fun game!

Honestly, Tuomas, if you're so afraid of people being able to persuade you out of doing this, you may not be as motivated to do this as you may think.

It's not really that simple. No matter how strongly you believe in your idea, there's always something people can use to talk you out of it.

Of all the people I know Tuomas is probably the only one I could imagine doing something like this and surviving it. Again, good luck if you end up choosing this path.

Also, m0ds in your team = instant win.  ;)

Yeah but everybody knows Mods ONLY makes midi music. That's a bit hard to sell. ;)

Hey, this looks very very good. In spite of the lens flare. ;) The concept sounds like it could make a very nice adventure game. Good luck with it!

You could go with reverse leet speak. Turn the 0506 part into OSOG. So you could be OG Monkeyos. Can't get much cooler than that. ;)

Congratulations on the deal! I hope things go well in the future for you in this area! I really love how Dave is still supporting the AGS community like this! :)

Ignore the holes in my jeans

I'm sorry, I find that impossible to do. There are holes in your jeans. And why on that particular area, I wonder... Were you in an accident or do you pee acid?

Birthday greetings to RickJ, the first man ever to hire me as a sprite artist! Without even seeing any previous art too. Such a gambler. ;) That sprite never got used though, since it was incomplete and crappy anyway.

Happy birthday! :)

Serpent Pictures is taking over the game industry...

Great looking game guys!

Sorry mate. You can only use the editor on Windows. You should however be able to play the games with the mac binaries.

What is this 6 Days a Skeptic people keep talking about? ;)

This game does look excellent. I'm a fool for simple graphics so to me this looks really neat. :) I also like most sci-fi stuff.

I just want to add how much I agree with scotch. Consistency. The most important factor in game art. And in all art for that matter. In my opinion all completely consistent graphics are good, no matter how well you can draw. If your game has a photographic background and a pixelly low-res character on it, I probably would not play it.
