The Rumpus Room / Re: What's on TV?

To be honest, my guess of 1995-2000 is based on an ident timeline video I got when I looked up where the station was. 1995 is when the video showed a square behind the 11 and put The Eye of Texas...
I'm going to guess Bless This House, 1995 American version.

Or Jason Voorhees?
Wouldn't that be taking Slasher's name too literally?

Hmm. Screenshots from a CBS affiliate from Dallas, Texas. It's most likely an American sitcom from between 1985 and 1999. Shame I never really watched sitcoms on CBS...
Edit: A bit of research tells me this probably aired between 1995 and 2000.
So, I'm guessing Picket Fences.

Vacant Bodies by VampireWombat:

Spoiler
I love the surrealistic feel in this one. It's really eerie and "off".
Too bad the ending is so abrupt. And I miss some puzzles - but that might
not be your thing VampireWombat? I guess walking through this world is enough
of an experience. I was entertained :)

Vacant Bodies by VampireWombat. This strange little walkie leaves me with wanting more. The sound and visuals go well together and creates a nightmarish and surreal world. I want more eerie robot motel stories.

I'm glad I was able to accomplish any sort of feeling for you. I did want to have puzzles, but I couldn't think of any for that part of the game.
My plan was to have an evolving verb list and more, but all of that would take place after where this version ended. I'm glad it entertained you. Thank you very much for voting for me.

This is Zeke. He doesn't talk much or think for himself often. Which makes him the perfect henchman.

I always wanted to see an adventure game starring Jason Priestley.

I have no name for my game. Or the main character. But I am considering having chapters and naming one something like "You've got harpies." Thanks to some friends elsewhere, I do have 3 creatures to put in the game. Which brings the count up to 6.

Huh, I thought I commented about defend, but guess I didn't actually type it...
Knights of Pen and Paper 2 uses defend along with other abilities, which makes it more useful.

Also, since it's not tied to the MAGS rules anymore, I'm tempted to replace the rats with something else to make stuff less confusing, I guess.
Why? What's wrong with the rats? I can't think of anything that would be more fitting. People experiment on rats. And rats are small, so they'd be decent pets on a space station or whatever the setting of the game is. Unless you want to use chinchillas. Those things are pure evil...

Old Ones brings me to thinking of the Dreams in the Witchhouse. I wonder if something similar could be adapted somehow. Admittedly I've never actually read the story and have only seen the episode of Masters of Horror, and listened to the rock opera... many times.

Vacant Bodies
Spoiler
This looks like it could be a really interesting start to a story. It left me really wanting to know more about what was going on in this particular world in general and with my own character's predicament. No real gameplay though so it's still just that at this point, but I do want to see and learn more! So, great job on an effective game intro!

I'm glad it made you want more. I really did want to do more, but the end of the month ended up being as hot as Satan's balzac(sic), which kind of killed my motivation.

I'm actually hours before the deadline. Of course I did take a few shortcuts...

Hopefully it's fully playable and not missing anything.

I don't have any thoughts at the moment on location or when to start the next game, but I do want it to start soon enough to be over in time for a more Halloween themed one for next month.

I have decided since October only has 31 days that this month I'm going to watch the more scifi horror stuff regardless of what happens with this.
So, this month I will be watching the Alien vs Predator movies, Prometheus, and Alien 1-4. The Fly 1&2, The Thing, They Live, Virus, and Moon. Maybe even Species 1 & 3.
#1015
I think I'll give this a try tomorrow. It could be a starting point for something for this month's game. The theme definitely has potential.

12 hours yesterday? Nice.
I think the longest I worked in one sitting was like 10 minutes...
Unfortunately I don't really have puzzles since I had to cut the game short.
I have a little dialog and programming related to which dialog comes when and then I think all that will be left is animation and the programming related to it.

edit: And the longer I'm awake, the more I think I may actually be sick...
So there goes any unneeded npcs or animations.

Why sorry? That's a perfectly reasonable route to go.

I'm going to be trying to do a game that's kind of The Secret of Monkey Island in a fantasy setting instead of with pirates. But the character is probably going to be a little younger and be influenced by main characters of The Sword in the Stone, The Black Cauldron, and maybe a little bit of Star Wars.

I don't know why, but suddenly the hair makes me think of Michael York.
Is it Justine?

I have all plans of playing both of your games after the voting starts.

Title screen is complete and I've now added save and load. I also have quicksave and quickload, which I won't be testing tomorrow.
Due to Slasher's missing function keys, I have quicksave set as both f5 and ctrl s and quickload as f7 and ctrl l.

Music has been added along with a volume slider.

Especially after these posts, where he stated that the psychic had told him that dayowlron was the nurse and that he had contacted dayowlron not the other way around. I still can't really make sense of that. (laugh)
I think he was trying to protect me. Or else wanted to plan strategy with dayowlron. Or something. I know there's a lot of communication he did with others as some sort of chess game or something.
