Animation Competition: Dissappearing Act

Finally, the new animation competition. Thank you for your patience! Here are your weapons, gentlemen:

A rabbit, a candle, a top hat, a wand, juggling balls, a handkerchief, a microwave oven and a saw.

What you've got to do is make 1 of these items vanish. You must use (at least) two or more of any of them, to make another 1 disappear, vanish, cease to exist, not be, go away, die, explode, be removed, garotted, transported, set on fire,  erased... you get the idea. Anything goes, but again, use any two of these items to interact with a third one and make it disappear.

Guidelines:

- You can draw your own versions of these items if you'd like, you don't have to use mine. But you must use at least two of the items named, even if you draw your own version.
- EXTRA CREDIT: You can add one more item of your own to the mix, this will count for extra points. But only one!
- No size, colour or frame limits.
- You may modify and animate the supplied sprites or draw and animate your own sprite, within the guidelines mentioned above.
- All entries must be posted in this thread by or on the 30th of June.
- The host of the competition will judge the winner.
- Have FUN!

The New Coloring ball Comp!

Window

Fill these panes. You can decide whether we are outside looking in or inside looking out. Do all the panes even look out or in to the same reality? You may decide it is not a window at all but something completely different... Be creative, anything goes!

Rules:

- No color restrictions
- Stay inside the lines, the black outlines must stay intact. Inside the white areas, go wild!
- Pixel art is a must!
- Have fun, any and every entry is welcome!

So I notice it's been over a week since this ended, and both Ricco and Stochie seem to have disappeared. Xellie, if you want to start the new one, go for it :)

Will do, sire! Or would that be sire-ess? :) I'll get it done ASAP.

LOL! Whoops.  ;D

Xellie has made some wonderful trophies for you guys to grab!
Once the voting is complete I'll post them here separately, at the moment they're all in one file.

Well at least we got some entries in! Great work everyone, but I'm going to have to give it to Xellie, made me laugh quite a bit. :)

Wow, thanx Saberteeth, never won a comp before. I'll get next one started ASAP. Also, since I'm a stickler for trophies, I'll see if can make some for me and the other two entries, if you don't mind.

Firstly, congrats on everybody's! They look awesome, hats off to all.

My votes:

Idea: loominous
My imagination is bubbling along with with whatever is in that cauldron. Where is this room, and who or what uses it for cooking something? I think the concept is strong and is a good answer to the topic. I KNOW it's not hardcore horror like some of the others, but if you look a bit deeper I think it has all the potential of the more 'bloody' entries.
Technique: loominous
Although all the BG's submitted are well done, I think focus must not be lost that the art has the final purpose of being used in a game, no? loominous's art is still atmospheric but well defined walk areas and hot spots are clear. While MAD's also has this, it is just a bit too empty.
Usefulness: loominous
All the other BG's have either not clear use in AGS (if you're thinking of putting a character in rather than a cutscene) or then, like MAD, there is not enough to interact with.

I hope to add more before today's deadline ends, but here is my entry as it stands now. Hopefull I have time to add something more...  :-\

EDIT: Just added a few frames at the end, so that it finishes better. DONE! No time to add more, though I'ld like to.

3rd place: Xellie
I like the idea and the end result,   though it's not very clear how it goes with the original story. But fitting the two objects together was more important, and you did this rather well.

Thanx!

I 'creatively ignored' that part, couldn't come up with anything that related to the story. Congrats all!

Hahahahaha...I asked Jake on IRC who this is and he had no clue. You're biased because you saw the pic I posted earlier. Which translates to "Sorry, I still don't know how to draw properly yet" =D
Hmmm....maybe if I coloured him in, he'd look more like Clint?

Well it might... I always find it's a lot easier to add character to a design when you have colour to play with as well, as facial features depend much more on gradations of color than on lines only... give it a try! I still think it's not bad at all, though.

There...doesn't look like him much, though I tried.

I think it does! That's good, man. That could be an entry for this comp.
#37
Well, I agree that pixeljoint won't accept that. Misunderstood the post, thought you said that it wasn't filters but drawn. Anyway, still makes the buzz around the sprite jam nicer. You should try pixelling, it's fun!

It's a pic, I just made it use the provided palette, with a few additional tinkerings.

Well dude, I bow to your awesomenes... Well done! Looks great.

You should join www.pixeljoint.com , if you haven't already. Great place if you're into pixelart.

Not an entry, but...I just like the guy. =D

Hey man, is that like pixel art, or is just a photo with a posterize filter?

Listened to the rest of them... super awesome. Listening to them makes me wish they were in the game as part of a story...
