I'm not sure if Dick's androids were able to procreate (they rather had parents-child relationship with other androids, but it was purely psychological) and Reno has a child with her.

Some good points here, Eric, but why certain members don't just post some art for their games or a small portions of it in The Critics' Lounge? You did that and it was nice to see your work improve with every update from you. Some young and inexperienced game-maker-wannabe could really use some critique to improve their work. Posting half-made, unplayable product will give them nothing but bashing.
#123
I think you should play certain games never mentioned in by name in this topic and then comment again : )
Sorry, but those 2-frames walkcycles can't be called awesome no matter how hard you try :)

Strange - my inventory looked like default AGS. I had one black square there and using it on the junkie made him give me some key.

There is truth in what you say, Crimson Wizard, something went terribly wrong with people. For example company I work for outsources temp workers, mostly students or guys right after high school. Each year we get more otherwolrdy people â€" careless, self-centered and often plain stupid.
Something is wrong with their attention span â€" they can’t focus. They can’t process information. They’re kind of physically unable to concentrate.
Don’t know if that’s education. Maybe it’s the way culture and information are presented today?
Anyways, all we can do is guide them if that’s possible and if they ask for it.

PS. And yes, I remember sending my half-assed book for a writing competition while beein’ teenager (even got a dimpoma for it). But I was, well, drunk when I did it.

EDIT. Fortunately this is not true for whole generation and there still are some likable \ thinking people; it's just easier to be... intellectually challenged and be well with it.

I still think this is an elaborate troll. It's too outlandish to be real.

Do you really think guy would make two ~150MB games just to troll us? True, those games are pretty impossible to play and the packs may be as well filled with garbage just so the "game" seems bigger and real, but still. And I don't want to bash him if he's the next Ed Wood of computer gaming  :)
Maybe someone will play those games for more than 5 minutes and try to find out if there's any way to progress? Or maybe Igor will post Let's play on youtube for our entertainment? In return I promise to give feedback every time I'm asked for it.

I believe both of your games (Unexplainable and Drugs and Aliens) must be remade if you want them to be, well, playable.
Here's little list of what you should think about first:
- Graphics. Really, you can't just place some random rectangles around infinite gray space and call it a background. There are things like buildings, sky, streets, sidewalks, street lights, drains, neon signs, shadows. You can't express those things with just gray space.
- Characters. You know, walking doesn't look like just rising your right leg and puting it down. It involves both of your legs at least. And walking left looks little different than walking back or ahead. And there are more than MSPaint's default 16 colours (and at your skill level you probably should use them - working with only 16 colours is pretty difficult).
- Interaction - you know, PnC adventures aren't about walking right (nor walking left). What everybody likes is looking at hotspots, talking to characters, solving puzzles, this kind of things. Let us have fun with your game!
- Dialogs. They are fun. They tell us about the plot, the characters and the world of your game. You should use them. And if you want to use linear dialog about geting high on human blood (Drugs and Aliens), don't bother using dialog tree. If you do, it makes no sence (if I play the dialog out of order it looks like this:
I: What do you need the blood for?
Junkie: To get high.
I: What can I do for you?
Junkie: Bring me blooood!
- Spelling. I know, my English isn't perfect but if you want to publish a game, you ought to make sure your audience understands it.

EXERCISE:
Remake the first part of your game. Like from the beginning to the point where you kill the strange looking guy. Make it the best you can. When you do, publish it here and ask for feedback. This place is full of kind souls ready to help. Use it.

Spoiler

Sorry, I meant the "get rid of the journalist" instructions - I assumed this was a letter from Antevorta.  There was that specific bit of evidence pointing at Bennett, so it could have been Ed who planted it, but I'm not really sure why he'd need to (there's not really any logic behind why he'd need to frame them once they got down to the vault already, as the murder was unplanned).
Always like a good that encourages speculation regardless - makes a change from most game plots
[close]

Spoiler
You can learn what the letter was about if you do certain thing in the vault - it has nothing to do with current plot, it's something from Bennet's past - something that he wants to keep secret for his very private reason.

And the thing you didn't find the use for:
Spoiler
How did you figure out "Te Prometo" without it?"  After Anna's recollection of her not-father's (uncle's) death, you have the B&W scene in the cemetery.  Use the key paper on the father's (uncle's) grave and you can make a rubbing which reveals the code.

Spoiler
From the ending of Javi's gift memory. Last sentence he says is "Te prometo" and it sounds pretty important (and I looked it up in google, so I remembered it too when I had to use it). But I figured out what I need to do with the piece of paper, so I did it as well.

and that is nuts about the Hellraiser thing!

Spoiler
It really is! The box looked similar and when I learned that it's a puzzle box I was certain this whole room is a Hellraiser reference.

"Oro" certainly translates to "Gold" - remember that gold flake liquid in Grim Fandango?

Wow Urpney, I never even considered that someone might solve that puzzle box by brute force.  That is hardcore!  Also, it's a totally optional puzzle!  ;)

Well, I just solved the first side with ease, so I guessed it's what I'm supposed to do. Then, after about an hour, I realized I can't just randomly move the knob. So I began writign down what opens when I make a move. By this time I was sure that the puzzle bases on some invisible leavers that close some routes and open another. Combination of this and random moves allowed me to open another side. It was late. I went to bed. Had a dream about the puzzle. The next day I figured out something attaches itself to the slider and moves along with it on some routes.Solved it with this clue after another hours of frustration, curses and smoked cigs : )
Now I know I'm an idiot. With impossiboe achievement on my account.
And mixed feelings about myself ; )
Today I played it as it's supposed to be played - what a clever, nice, non-frustrating, intelligent puzzle!

Spoiler

- Yeah, I definitely thought of this, but for clarity and ease of understanding, I just brushed past it.  Though he isn't the leader, Reno pulls all the strings!
Still, I assume he's pretty important, judging by the vice-president scene in New World Order ending. And Reno looked more like Minority Report-esque kind of world observer, but that's just my impression : )
If you read Morales' journal, you'll see that Ed had stolen one single Resonance device, but had no way to make more without Dr. Morales' full research on capturing the Resonance particles.  He needed the contents of that vault.
Well, that's another point - last time we saw Ed, he was trapped in the vault. And next he's armed with gun and a resonance device and free - if Amul freed him, why did he let him have the device? And if he escaped all by himself - why did he leave the remaining devices for Amul to take? (yeap, I know, I'm moaning far too much for an excellent game Resonance is)
-   I can assure you that this was all unintentional!
Now this is pretty unexpected! Just look:
Hellraiser series' Lament Configuration (puzzlebox that opens gates to another dimension):

Hellraiser III Camerahead Cenobite:

Just look at his moustache!
Also, as mentioned above, I meant for you to use the ultra-sonograph to solve this one.  You can get one in the morgue.  Much easier that way!  Also, you can skip this puzzle by black mailing Tortoise with the picture of Amul!
Now I know ; ) Unfortunately one of the characters was blocking the bell and I had no idea I can summon Tortoise : )

As for my next game, I'm almost done with it!  I'll announce it soon and then release it in 2017.
Hurry up! Pleeeeease?

Spoiler
The little note from Dr. Morales with a bunch of circles drawn together, and "Your uncle holds the key." What is it? What are you supposed to do with it? For that matter, I never figured out the relevance of the gravestone and the name "Rey," either.

Spoiler
You can use it on your "father's" grave if you didn't figure "te prometo" from the Javi's gift memory.

Some minor bugs:
Spoiler

- You can pick up ultrasonograph in the tech room even if the doors are still locked
- If you swich to another character while Ray is logged into the mainframe, Ray disappears from the room (as the engine puts him in "mainframe terminal room"; you need to log out for him to appear again
- I get "all achievement unlocked" screen without geting "Perfect Score" one

Spoiler

-   The “Lament Configuration” puzzle in Tortoise’s was truly hellish! Is there any other way than trail and error? After some time I really felt like Frank Cotton, messing with the box for several hours.

Spoiler
didn't you use the ultra sonograph on the puzzle box? wow, that's hardcore.

Spoiler
As I said - I felt like Frank Cotton in the first scene of Hellbound Hearts, spending hours working on that puzzle. Almost gave up several times, but in the end I didn't restore to online help ; ) Good thing noboty was at home at the time, as I was saying some really nasty things about the game : ) I've found the ultra sonograph much later in the police tech room. Will look for it on my current playthrough if I can get it by the time I have to solve the puzzlebox.

Finished my first playthrough yesterday night and can’t stop myself from sharing some thoughts. Haven’t played it yet with commentary, so maybe some of my impressions were addressed to there.
First non-spoiler:
Ms. Gilbert. Mr. Gilbert. Mr. Twelve. Anybody involved. I take my hat off to you. It’s the best relase of this year so far (and so far I can see only one other candidate for my personal game of the year - which is The Cat Lady).

Spoilerish thoughts:
Spoiler

-   I’m afraid you unintentionally made me hate Ed very early in the game. From the time I heard his comments on his smoking colleagues I tried every opportunity to try to kill him. It was hell of a decision when I had to choose between world’s freedom and frying him. Smokers pride!
-   Congratulations, Mr. Twelve! You made an optional maze puzzle which I didn’t skip.
-   What’s more, you made a block sliding puzzle which I really enjoyed even though I stucked there for a while and made it more difficult by taking two wrong assumptions: that heavy metal crate will break the catwalk rather than just lay on it and that by turning off the fuse box I’ll cut off the catwalk’s power source making it stuck in it’s current position rather than back to it’s initial position.
-   Why does Batra â€" leader of powerful secret organization runs his own errands (minor ones, like a random act of burglary) and uses his public name while doing undercover job? It’s kind of against being secret society : )
-   Ed acts kind of irrationally: why does he use the very last pair of priceless resonance devices to destroy the mainframe? Bomb placed somewhere there would do the job pretty well. Why does he shoot Anna no matter what she chooses in the vault? Why does he even bother entering the vault if he still has the devices used to destroy the laboratory and knows how to build them?
-   Isn’t Tolstoy a surname rather than a name? Like in Leo Tolstoy or Alexei Tolstoy.
-   The “Lament Configuration” puzzle in Tortoise’s was truly hellish! Is there any other way than trail and error? After some time I really felt like Frank Cotton, messing with the box for several hours. BTW, Tortoise himself shares some similarity (like his headgear and moustache) with Camerahead the Corny Cenobite â€" was that intentional?

More to come if anybody’s interested : )
