Ok, this MAGS thing was a silly idea of me. Let's just start an OROW!

Ah, that explains it. Just out of curiosity: how did the old rating work? Were there also categories or just one rating?

There is something strange with the rating of this game: http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/site/games/game/710/

The public opinion shows

13 people have rated this game so far:
Visual: 62%
Immersion: 45%
Puzzles & Pacing: 43%
Overall Enjoyment: 42%

But the player rating on top gives it only one cup and when hovering it says "Rated 27% (13 votes)"

Where does this rating come from?

(In case you are wondering why I dig up such old games - now that the screenshots are working again I like to click the random games images on the games page if they look interesting)

A few things I noticed:

*) You really look like your avatar :)
*) In the music portfolio the letter i looks like 1 to me which is a bit confusing
*) I like your music

The layout itself is neutral and didn't attract my attention, neither in a good or bad way.

I agree with Ben here. Placing a random object there just to hide his genitalia Austin-Powers-style would be ridiculous.

Most helpful: I got great advice from many people and I tried to incorporate it as well as possible. But the most helpful was Ben's psd. So I vote for ThreeOhFour.

Best process: This was a very close one between waheela and Cerno. I'll go with Cerno here.

I already thought about making a cup-shaped pic  :)

Just finished the game. It was very enjoyable. The graphics are very good with high level animations. The puzzles were top notch: I was challanged but managed to finish without a walkthrough.
Spoiler
I always thought I need to catch the dove and get her gold necklace to pay for the ball. That's why I didn't understand why I couldn't do the spider trick yet. But I got the extended antenna very late in the game.

I only wish there had been an original soundtrack. The chosen music was fitting, but such a great game deserves its own music. Maybe you could get one of talented composers here in the forum for your next game?

Also I'd have loved to see more hotspots. In the shop and the park there there were so many things without a hotspot or description. Also talking to the monkey or dragen would have been nice.

I often found the long breaks in the dialogs annoying. Sometimes less is more. A pause is good for emphasizing but gets worn out quickly.

All in all great game, I had lots of fun playing and I'm looking forward to your next game.

What I like about Ben's entry and also miguel's is that they show emotion. The other pictures (including mine) show an attacking or passive aggressive monster while theirs shows pain and sorrow, most likely inflicted by humans (either by summoning them or chaining). They are both encouraging to think of a story of your own.

I get the impression cat ran out of time, and maybe she would have tried some of these options if she were to work more on it.

Actually, I ran out of ideas. I added atmospheric perspective, but maybe it was not enough. I wouldn't know how and what to add without looking out of place.

Awesome entries everyone! This whole workshop was a fantastic experience for me. The atmosphere was so productive and inspiring, with everyone giving constructive criticism and commenting on other pictures. I'd never have thought I could make a picture like that, but it wouldn't have been possible without the help and inspiration of all the other people here.
I loved to see the pictures grow from ideas to sketches to finished illustrations and I think everyone grew in skills.

Thanks a lot to Andail for organizing and everyone for participating!

All participants who finished this workshop I consider winners, no matter who will be top in the voting.
