Thanks I'll look into those games.
#2
I understand the logic  but unfortunately not the implementation completely.
#3
Even if it did not change completely I do hope that Allegro can be dropped and have SDL replace it.  It is much more extendable  and portable.  Maybe I'm just biased towards SDL.
#4
Why is there no linux version?  I think it could really add an audience to the genre by adding games to a platform that is not known for them.  When someone looks for games they would find AGS games and possibly be inspired to make their own.

It would only include:

Changing Allegro to SDL
Compiling the source in Codeblocks instead of VS.
Adding a feature to compile a linux file type instead of .exe files.

Any thoughts.

Sorry if this is in the wrong section I thought this was fitting.

The issue of remakes is black and white and gray(what two ands?)

Without permission it is completely illegal just does not work(but then again so is fan-fiction).

But the gray part is permission, say you wanted to remake King's Quest 4(which people are I know) someone like Roberta Williams probably would not give a shit.  But Activision might get pissy.  Either way Activision has better things to do, or for that matter pay people to do, than searching for implementation of a rather nice Space Quest font

It's like roms, totally illegal but untraceable and really not worth the lawsuit.
#7
Thanks I may have not made it playable.  Anyway thanks for the help on my dumb question.

I see great potential in those characters and I ask two questions:

1) Do the games that they are "featured" in really develop them?  (more than their first appearances?)

2) Were either one of them arrested for killing the other's brother?

That is what I thought, he did not look like the other versions.  He is rather husky.  I don't even use the font anyway I just use Ubuntu.  Copyright is stupid.

Beginners' Technical Questions / Walk cycle
Fri 02/09/2011 01:07:50
So I understand the logic behind a walk cycle but simply because I am not familiar completely yet with the event system. When should I trigger all of these events?  Thanks in advance.

So the default game comes with Roger and a space quest font.  Is this not illegal?
#15
^^^ good points just love the name big blue cup.  (it could not use BBC anyhow)
#16
:D interesting a metagame.  Hmmmm, but anywho I just think names are extreamly powerful.
#17
So I really like the name Big blue cup.  But Adventure game studio sounds kind of ... silly.   I don't think it represents the power of the engine and has no real connection to big blue cup.  So I ask why the name choice and why not something like Big Blue cup creator.  Or something of the sort.  ( I had a better one but it slipped my mind hmm..)  Any ideas.

So I want to start deving some adventure games.  But I'm all concept and programming art makes no sense to me.  I just can't make it, let alone well enough for it to not be laughable. So I was wondering if there is any free art and sprites I can use in games.  As I assume the default game template is all copyrighted material.  Help is obliged.
