:-D "Super weird"...I bet cutting the power has let loose some "collectibles" already!  ;)

I would like to try it.

Thanks a lot.

I know I can't give myself a +1, but come on people! Let's do some breaking and entering!  8-)

It's always really cool to hear what the other betatesters noticed or suggested. I guess even though I understand instinctively that this is a mood piece, I'm more geared to suggest or notice the more practical parts of the design.

Slight spoilers if you haven't played the game yet:

I still think the ability to mark the trees with your claws is a good idea, even though it turned out not to be necessary in this one. At the time, I still hadn't found all the ghosts, and I believed I had to navigate through the thick of the forest. In there, I often lost my bearings, and I thought it could be cool to mark the trees to see where I had gone, what EriOo calls "breadcrumbs".  ;-D  But I didn't really think he could pull it off...and I was proved wrong.

Finding your way, and especially finding one of the ghosts, was a lot harder in the earlier builds. I'm curious as to what the new players say about this balance. We testers knew the routes by heart in the end and could speed run the game. But taking your time to explore and experience the ambiance are the highlights of it, I feel.

Ben 304's first game, Hungry, is not in the database, but on the archive: https://archive.org/details/hungry-2005
Kind of unsurprisingly, this is a tad better than most people's first games. Some people just got it.

Relight's first game, Abstract, is here. It's a demo where I don't think the player can do very much.

Icey made a game called Project 304 Style - Wandering Spirits. It is now available here.

The short movie intro demo of D.Jones: Deceased is here.

Remember hourgames? Games made in small contests in an hour or so? Here's a collection of 29(?) of them: https://lost-ags-games.itch.io/hourgames-collection

Edit: List of Hourgames in the collection (will update until complete):
Theme: Downfallen Superhero:
IB SHAG Entry 12.July (Indie Boy seems to not have given his hourgames proper titles)
Flash Down

Theme: Absurd Character Deaths:
2000 Ways to Play Badminton Without (...) and the title fills the entire screen.
Terlethour or possibly it's called Deadman Toilet

Theme: Time Paradox
666 Days a Sotona - This one is a RON game, sort of. Outside of continuity, of course.
Enkerro's Time Paradox
Time Paradox
Time Out of Joint
OMFGPARADOX!

Theme: Magic
Wizard Hangover ExtreamZz!! - This one is actually in the main database.
Majixsis - I'm not really sure of the title of this one or who the author is. It features a creature locked in a Wizard's bathroom who has to make a voodoo doll to defeat the Wizard.

Theme: Worship Boxes or Breasts:
Box This one is actually in the database, too.
Preeee or possibly it's called Hurray

Theme: Buddy Brick
Buddy Brick

Theme: Gold
6 Day blah blah Vampire Gold
Uhhr or more likely the title is Annoying Quest

Depressomatic (Title Screen says "Crap Game".) This is a cartoon made in AGS by FSi with no interaction.
Simppmdee This is a joke "game" about meeting pmd in a chat room.

Thanks, arj0n! I'll contact Lars and ask if he can host it a bit more publicly.  :-D  Now for some making out!  8-)

It seems like the PM functionality isn't working at the moment.

If I'm understanding you correctly, you deleted the room script pointing to hotspots, thinking that would erase the hotspots. But in order to do so, you have to use the menus in the editor, or else whatever you have set up under the lightning bolt (like left click on hotspot) will try to find the script you have deleted.

I played A Lone Night. This a a short point and click game where you have to find ways of opening doors to progress. It's short and sweet...I got to both endings in 10 minutes, but I was mildly entertained while doing it, even if it's not the biggest challenge.

And I played Squirrelatouille, which is an easy platform game. I think this one would be a better fit for my kids than for me. Nothing wrong with that.

I got my first Clean Talk blocks today...because I reported several messages as spam in less than 80 seconds.  :-D

But it's a bit disheartening that apparently some bots can get through the registration form. I wouldn't have thought it likely when you see it.

I have played Delivery Box today. It's not an adventure, but a platform game with some puzzle elements and a plot/story. It's a good game, but too hard for me. I managed to get pretty far, but gave up when I reached a level where I can see a possible solution, but not really me doing it. But the game is well worth a go. The player needs to deliver a box, and he needs to bring it along with him and keep it safe, as well as the player character. He can't jump while holding the box, but can throw the box. The mechanics are interesting and well used.

One cool feature in the Wordle Ordlek league is the after-match analysis.

Awesome Quest is a nice little two-roomer. It can be found here.

And Scavenger rescued his sister's (Gemmalah) game The Dragon Slayers from being lost, currently hosting it here. This is a cute game where you play a kid who has to find weapons before going on a quest to slay a dragon with his friends. Fully voiced!

Quote from: lorenzo on Tue 15/11/2022 21:32:24Thank you very much, Ramorama:cheesy:
Quote from: Ramorama on Thu 10/11/2022 23:58:00could be also a plot for a Twillight Zone episode!
Hollywood people! If anyone of you is reading this, you can have the rights to the story for a million dollars or two, I'm that humble!
Two dollars it is, then.  ;)

Thanks for your efforts, Gabriel! Also thanks to The TMD who managed to find the game and make it run, and to my friend Lars for hosting it. The db page should very soon provide a workable link again.

I just (finally) played the demo/chapter one. It's been on my to-do-list for a while now.

How to describe the look...It's in the lane of roblox, minecraft or lego. 3d pixel art is about right. I think the city looks beautiful, with very strong Blade Runner vibes. You've also added a lot of animation (after one of the comments, I guess), which all add tons to the atmosphere.

I also liked the story so far, investigating and getting to know a few people. The score system looks interesting, particularly how the player earns relationship points regarding other people, both police and villains. I guess you have a plan for using that later on in the story.

What can get better? I'd say adding more interactive items or hotspots. First off, every possible interaction should get a reply. It's a good idea to make a standard reply if the player tries to do something you haven't made a custom reply for. Like "I only talk to people and bots" or "I see nothing special". It's even better to actually have custom replies, of course. As this is an investigative game, I think the potential crime scenes would benefit from having several hotspots to examine, including some not relevant to the case. Basically, the more the merrier. It's a bit laborious, I know.

Even without added hotspots, I recommend people to give this demo a go. It would be worth it just for the neon city and the fluid flying animations alone. I didn't think of the similarities of Rik Vargard and Rick Deckard until now, but I enjoyed the chance of being a cop in a Blade Runner-inspired city. Good stuff!

I played the demo yesterday, and it sucked me right into the story. I was glad when I discovered the button for requesting a repeat of the important lines...I had forgotten the name of the shop and dreaded having to start over.  :-D

Good, Ega-style graphics, a text input interface that makes sense and enhances gameplay instead of just being there, believable characters and a compelling story. If there's one thing I would have changed, I guess it would be the need to write down and punch in correct phone numbers. It may be accurate and realistic, but it's not fun like finding new locations on the map is fun. But all in all, a very good effort so far.  (nod)

I played the demo and enjoyed the relaxed tone of it. As far as the demo goes, as there's no real case yet, it will appeal to people familiar with the characters. Fortunately, that's most of us.  ;)

I especially liked the close-ups where Holmes could make his observations and prepare for deductions later on. You also nail the characters pretty good. While they can be interpreted differently, I'm all aboard with how they behave here. Nice that Mycroft was included, too.

The art is beautiful. At the moment where Holmes stepped outside the cottage, the colour of his jacket and the colour of the wall were a bit similar, so I actually didn't see where he was at first. Other than that, you'll hear only praise from me.

The ending
Spoiler
reminded me of thoughts expressed in my own silly little Batman game Prep Time. So of course, I liked it.  ;-D

A couple more remarks due to the critics' lounge placement:

It is seldom, but not impossible to have four mountains in a row with exactly the same height. If you make this a point, say, calling them "the four sisters" or something like that in-game, you get away with it. Otherwise, people from mountainous areas might react to it.

I also think the trees visible on the mountains look far too big, if the peaks are marked with snow. Again, this can be solved in-game by actually making them giant trees when you approach. If you're not aiming for realism, but going for a more stylized look, then please disregard my comments.
