i tried a little paintover, to get more mood out of your pic. Played with the values a bit, threw in some colours. Sorry for the messy colour job, had to use a different technique than the one i usually use. Hope this helps a little bit :o

Everything makes sense to me except for "Establish depth at first square foot." How am I suppose to do that accurately? If I put the line too high or too low it will turn out to be a rectangle.

Thank you for posting this, that picture helped me understand perspective better! Initially, i was about to say that there's no precise way to calculate the square sizes, my teacher taught me always to estimate the square's depth, but then i figured out what the artist meant. From what i can tell, the diagonal vanishing point is needed.

After you have the diagonal, you can just put the horizontal lines through each intersection, the way the artist shows. Of course, my squares are very distorted, especially to the bottom, i'm not sure why they came out like that. Probably because the original artist put his diagonal vp farther to the left than me. I have no idea how to incorporate this into two-point perspective, though.

Looking good, but it lacks contrast, and that hurts the eye in my opinion.Ã,  Right now, the lightest spot in your image is a 40% grey, and that makes it hard for the eye to find the details.
I tried lighting it up for you. It might be too light, losing some of the mood, but i wanted to show you what i mean. Hope this helps.

Hello, it's me again! Thought it wouldn't be too nice to open a new topic, so i'll just post this here. We've messed around a bit in ags, came up with some fun stuff, but i'd like to ask several questions. First, how do you get rid of that ugly grey bar on the top of your screen? How do you make a text description pop up every time you put your mouse on an item? Like 'wooden box' when you hover over a box, or 'door' over a door. How do you drop a shadow from the characters? Only need an inanimate blob or something. That's all, i think. Sorry if this is answered somewhere :(

Thanks a lot! This stuff is pretty intuitive, but i probably wouldn't have realised that through trial and error. Thanks again!

Hello, i'd like to start making a game with a friend, using ags, but we're trying to get familiar with the software before starting the actual work for the game. Could someone please tell me how to make the character walk in perspective, along with the background? Our scenes rely on 1-2, maybe even 3 point perspective, and we need to get the character to 'shrink' in the distance. It'd be great if someone could help. Thanks!
